Look up best pizza in Vancouver and this will be the number one result. Since we’re only here for five days it was a must try. It’s on a semi sketch side of town and a hole in the wall for sure but so worth it. We got the funghi pizza, with mushrooms, parmesan, mozzarella, roasted garlic, and arugula. This ranks as one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The crust was not amazing so it wasn’t number one. That honor still belongs to Pizza Hut and Domino’s. Yes, heretic, I know. But the cheese, oh man, so cheesy and good. It’s like white cheddar Kraft’s but like a classy version of that. Cheesy cheesy cheese. I’m so glad I’m not vegan anymore.

This is 5 solid stars. If your favorite pizza is Papa John’s, then stay at home. Don’t believe the haters.

For two of us, we chose the Margherita and Fughi. Fughi pizza is the most delicious pizza i ever have had. I am definitely going back again for their Fughi pizza.

Very good pizza and ambiance for being in Strathcona. Was only in BC for a week but managed to hit a lot of places to eat and this was by far one of the best.

Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of pizza. I ordered the four cheese and it was perfect. The restaurant has a nice ambiance as well, and you can order a beer or glass of wine.

Expect at least a 30 min wait for both dine-in and take-out! We tried the FINOCCHIONA(fennel sausage) and added extra anchovies on it. We also had the SPECIAL — which was eggplant that day. Both were ooey, gooey and delicious! The finocchiniona was our favourite between the two. The crust isn’t super thin and the outer edges had some bubble action going on for that extra crisp. Help yourself to some sparkling or distilled water up at the front. Very limited seating(about 16 people). Next time I’ll prob call ahead for take-out since I live nearby.

Good stuff! I tried the daily special, and it was very cheesy, flavourful, and satisfying. The place is self-serve, you’ll have to head to the counter to place your order, and grab sparkling/regular water and cultery. I imagine it might be hard to find a seat sometimes. Some of my crust got burned, this isn’t a dealbreaker but it is kind of a bummer! In general though, seems like a solid place to grab pizza.

I am very picky when it comes to pizza and I’ve tried all pizza joints that have a decent rating. Farina is the only one I keep coming back to. Their dough is perfect, they use high quality cheese, and their staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. You simply cannot do any better that this, so I just hope they stick around and keep up their standards.

SOCLOSE! Ahhh! We’ve been trying so hard to find authentic pizza here in Van, and Pizzeria Farina is so close to nailing it. Great quality ingredients, everything is perfectly executed, they just aren’t using the dough I’m looking for. That probably sounds ridiculous, but I’m telling you it makes a difference. There is something about Caputo flour that gives the pizza dough more stretchiness. That’s the best way I can describe it. So even though the flavour was all right on, the dough held it back from a 5 star rating. That and the fact that it wasn’t wood fired. But hey, it’s still the best pizza I’ve had in town here so far, and I will 100% come back here.

This is probability one of the best pizza I’ve ever tried here in Vancouver. If you are looking for something to eat quickly in a very casual environment that’s the place. If you live around take away is probably a must for you! I had a classic Margherita; and ask for some Parmesan on top at the end!

For my 300th review I’m happy to fully stuff Pizzeria Farina with a 5 star review like how they fully stuffed me with delicious Neapolitan pizza! The restaurant is cozy with its warm lights, brick and rustic décor. I enjoyed the simple and descriptive menu — For the 4 of us, I chose the Margherita($ 12), Funghi($ 16), and the Special of the day($ 16). We were lucky with our timing and snagged a spot on the communal table, I appreciated the hangers on the underside of the table to hang my bag and umbrella(now that is smart space use!). After about 15 – 20 minutes we were bestowed our Margherita and Daily Special pizza. First off, the wheat dough was perfectly hand-formed to a thin layer and the stone oven created the familiar round air pockets of crispy crust and inner chewiness, which was perfect for dipping into the fragrant Oregano or Chili-infused Olive Oil. The Margherita was a foundational start with its fresh tomato sauce, white stringy mozzarella, and green basil. A perfect introduction to the basics of an amazing neapolitan pizza! It was the pancetta that sparked my interest for the Daily Special Pizza. The pancetta was thinly sliced and had a lovely sear that enhanced its salty goodness. The radicchio was nicely grilled with the crunchiness still intact and no bitterness. The pizza had a pleasant sweetness and saltiness from the pancetta, a very good balance of flavours. Lastly, our Funghi pizza came and it had a massive aroma of mushrooms. The simple ingredients of mushrooms, mozzarella, parmesan, red onions, garlic and arugula, melded together into bite after bite of mushroom heaven. This pizza was my boyfriend’s fave — and he said he’d definitely come back again for this one — that’s a big deal! We grabbed a glass water with the options of Still or Sparkling water, which was a nice palate cleanser in between our different pizzas. Overall, we had such a delicious experience for our tastebuds and stomachs. And I know I’m not alone in this thought because by the time we were done eating on a Sunday at 7pm, the place was packed like sardines — with both people eating-in and balancing pizza boxes for take-out. I’ll definitely return again — I won’t stray too far away from Pizzeria Farina.

Pizzeria Farina has been on my regular rotation. Specifically, the Finocchiona. There is sausage with fennel goodness, and there are chiles. The chiles are really quite nice on this pie. The spice level is on the milder side, but it’s still got a kick nevertheless. Pistachio is good, and the Marinara is a nice choice if you want something light. The Calabrese is also quite excellent, but only if you are in the mood for lots of salt. The crust is very good, a nice balance of crispy and chewy. My only gripe is that sometimes it’s really hard to get through when phoning in a take out order.

So this is the best pizza I’ve had in Vancouver. They do thin crust right. It some how manages to be both crispy, yet a little chewy. They’ve got a great variety to chose from, and they run daily specials which are pretty creative. Be sure to go hungry since getting through a whole pie is a mission and they’re so good you won’t want to share.

As far as neopolitan pizzas go in Vancouver, Pizzeria Farina is my pick. A small place down on main, the trendy interior seats only a few people with small tables on the side and a large, communal table in the middle. Pizza is nice and thin, crunchy but not the kind that breaks into pieces on the first bite. If you dine in, there are infused olive oils available as condiments(chili, oregano) and these are sold separately, albeit on the pricey side, if you wish to bring them home. Farina gets creative with the specials, so I would ask what the special is before considering anything else. Note: Open 5pm until the dough runs out!

Simple and delicious pizza. Although I did find that this time I went the crust was a bit too dry for my liking.

Great place if you have a pizza craving; however, I think it’s a little over-priced for what you get. They could include a few more toppings or be a little more heavy-handed on the ones they have.

I’ve yet to find decent pizza since arriving in Vancouver, but Pizza Farina didn’t disappoint. The interior is somewhat trendy, with plain shelves on the walls lined with tinned tomatoes. The place is self-serve, so you grab your own cutlery, water, and pizza from the counter. My one gripe with this restaurant is the seating: it has some smaller tables and one large communal table with bar stool-like seating, but I found the placement to be too cramped. I would definitely class the restaurant as more of a «grab a slice and go» type than somewhere for a sit down, unless you’re a small group. Service was great, the girl taking our orders was really friendly and efficient. The pizza itself was pretty good: the crust is fresh and crispy, the sauce rich and flavourful. I got the special of the day(can’t remember the name), and also tried some of the Finocchiona and Pistacchio pizze. They have a nice range of simple, reliable choices(Margherita, Quattro Formaggi), and some more adventurous ones(the aforementioned pizze). I found the combination of mortadella and pistachio pretty interesting, despite my initial doubts that it would be too unusual. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying some of their others!

So far, the best place i believe in Vancouver to get a pizza. Came here late on a Sunday night after playing a soccer game earlier. Came in around 9pm. To me, this is what pizza should be. I got a margherita — sauce, basil, mozzarella and just awesomeness. The dough: thin, soft but with a crunch, slight charring from the oven(only would be better if the oven was a wood fire oven) The sauce: Sweet natural taste, generous but not too much that the pizza becomes soggy. The cheese: Fresh mozzarella, stringy, milky, abundant The basil: fresh and sweet, full of herby deliciousness. The place is a cramped tight place, but if you are here longer than like 30 minutes, go away and find a different restaurant, this isn’t a place you sit and talk about your feelings. You come here for deliciousness. One negative: The price has gone up by $ 2 for the margherita, and i believe $ 1 for the others.

My friends and I were wandering around in Chinatown to look for really good hidden-gems. For our first try we went to Phnom Penh but the one hour wait time was too much for starving foodies, so we went ahead to Kobob which was just closed when we arrived — people were still eating inside amazing-looking rice burgers. So. here we are at Pizzeria Farina. I’ve mentioned several times that I don’t like pizza that much, but I am liking pizza more and more these days! I guess I love pizza from non-franchised pizza restaurants. I personally love their hipster décor/interior. It gives very authentic feeling somehow, and I feel like their ingredients and food would be super exotic, organic and fresh. And I was right. Their pizza was delicious! Calabrese($ 16) had tomato base, mozzarella and topped with soppressata(Italian dry salami) and nicoise olives(somewhat rare, grown only in the French Riviera with a low crop yield). The dough was thin, crispy and chewy. In terms of taste, it was on a saltier side but not too extreme. It can be a great pairing with a bottle of beer. Chili Infused Olive Oil and Oregano Infused Olive Oil are available for the pizza. Finocchiona($ 16) also had tomato sauce as base and topped with fennel sausage, provolone, parmesan, spicy peppers and basil. Fresh basil was a great choice to enhance all the flavours. When I had a bite, the basil burst with aroma. Somewhat spicy and sweet at the same time — not too much. Get your pizza fresh out of the oven! We were looking for a good pizzeria on Unilocal and Farina came up. We took the Sky Train and walked a few blocks and here we were. It’s not in the centre of the city but it’s just at the beginning of Vancouver Chinatown. The place is really small, but nicely furnished, however I recommend you to not eat in. Only now I understand why most people just call for order and come to pick it up. There’s really no point in waiting in the place itself since it takes a while and you’re only adding to the crowd that’s already there. The table is also hard to get, so don’t bother. They have quite some pizzas on the menu and one special, that changes daily(or so I gathered). We ordered two of them(Funghi and Daily Special) and paid around $ 40(not all that cheap). The waiting was long(30min+), but luckily a new bar opened just next door and we went over there for drinks(the owner said they’re gonna start selling their pizzas as well once it all settles). They don’t take your number if you come in and order, neither do they give you one of those tiny devices that would blink when you’re order is done, so it’s on you to guess when you’re pizza is gonna be done. I really don’t like this about them — a pizza can be done sooner or later so, please be courteous and call the customers — it’s good customer service! I did come back in the agreed time, but nobody signalled whether the pizza was done or not, so I waited(also due to the long line in front of me — out through the door). Once I managed to get to the counter, I asked about my pizza. It was standing there for 15 minutes already. :| The pizza itself was good. The crust was thin and crunchy, the toppings were good and plentiful. One pizza is a big deal for one person, in my opinion, you’ll be stuffed, so maybe it’s good to share if you’re not used to such big pizzas. Next time, if we come to Vancouver again, we’re calling up front and picking up later. I’m not gonna bother waiting again. And yes, despite the disappointment with the waiting/picking up(that’s my only beef with them), it is good enough to make another trip to their place.
