Bad service. Tiny portions. No kimchi. Almost no meat in the bibimbap! Stingy

The menu is extensive but the food is just average. There are better Korean restaurants down Robson. Not worth going back a second time. The service is also quite slow.

I would have to agree with the other reviewers that this place is more like a Chinese restaurant pretending to be a Korean one. Their food is what you would expect a «Korean» restaurant in Beijing would taste like. Either they have Chinese cooks at the back or their intentionally made their food appetizing to the Chinese customers. Their Galbi taste like beef cooked in oyster sauce. e For authentic Chinese restaurant, I recommend HONs on Robson.

Friendly but inattentive service. Our server never followed up on our meal nor our drinks. It was a slow night as well. Bulgogi was a good sized portion but lacked flavour and was way too oily. How does one screw up bulgogi? Gamjatang wasn’t that great either and lacked the proper seasoning that usually brings all the flavours together(deullkae)

The waitress was wonderfully sweet but in terms of food you can definitely find better Korean options else where. We had the boneless battered soy and spicy boneless wings(I preferred real wings but my companion does not deal well with bones) and as I suspected it’s a huge chunk of fried batter with every tiny morsel of chicken. The beef and tofu soup we ordered was very very sad. The seafood pancake was the worse I’ve ever eaten mostly due to the fact it was burnt.

Food was just ok even though I was hungry. Probably won’t go back. Service was good.

Horrible customer service. I just called to ask if I can do a take-out, and this is the conversation, WITHOUT even asking me what would I like(so he did not know if I only want a small one-dish quick-to-go OR bunches of food) server:“it will take an hour…“ me: «really?» server: «maybe? I don’t know» So I guess the morale of the story is do not try to get take-out from this place, even though it apparently do offer take-out services. On the other hand, perhaps needing an hour to cook some take-outs is the norm around 9PM on weekend? Still, I am not waiting for that hour to eat this Korean food as there are literally tons of other Korean restaurants on Robson.

We ordered their seafood hotpot and steamed pork belly. They were OK, not bad but not spectacular either.

I’ve only had the Dak Galbi here, and I’m a fan. There’s not a lot of places in Vancouver that serves this. Unfortunately, it is served pre-cooked(rather than what I’m used to, which is raw, and cooked on the table) It’s also a little weird that the cheese add-on is sliced cheddar, rather than grated mozzarella. But since there’s not much options for dak galbi, I’ll take it. Make sure to add side order of instant noodles to add into the pot! And if you’re going to order rice, mix the rice into the pot after you’re half done.

Downgraded my review to 3 stars. Haven’t been here I awhile and not planning on returning. Came on a Friday and forgot that they don’t offer lunch sPecials Fridays. No wonder fir the lack off patrons. I used to love eating here when they had a lot on their lunch specials but that was years ago… Anyways, i fOund that they skimped out on the portion sizes especially on the marinated beef soup that i ordered. It seemed like a half order! The taste was still good. But the portion size and service was really lacking. There are so many other decent Korean places in downtown, that why when you go there if they have better lunch specials every day of the week.

Pleasantly surprised by the authenticity and quality of the food. We walked in here after having a very bad experience in the neighboring Japanese restaurant(Ebisu). We had Korean style chicken wings and steamed dumplings. Wonderfully made! They were very good. It’s a casual eatery, not a formal dining venue. Highly recommend for quick meal for family and friends. We will eat here again.

This restaurant was a disappointment. Firstly, the bibimbap has less than a cup of rice and they gave me four small pieces of beef. The service was so slow as well. I initially wanted to eat chicken but they said«we don’t have chicken in our menu» which is weird coz the name of their restaurant has the word chicken in it(Red Chicken!)

I would give zero star if I could. The three that I wanted to order, fried whole chicken, la galbi and ox tongue they all refused to serve. They were either out of the dishes or it’s too late they don’t make whole chicken. I came at 830pm. They close at 12am. Fried boneless chicken was overly battered, not crunchy at all. No service either. Asked for napkins and they forgot about it. This place failed on all levels.

Just finished eating some iron pieces along with their chicken menu… Waitress said the iron pieces went inside the chicken when they BBQ it… the…no discount at all after my mom bit on the iron piece hard with some toothache. Good luck with that attitude in restaurant business. No wonder they change the owner pretty much every year. And the spicy chicken is getting worse year by year.

Red Chicken is very close to my work, and it was recommended by a Korean friend, so I go there for lunch sometimes. It is great and inexpensive, and I definitely enjoy it. The restaurant is very comfortable and not overwhelmingly busy, especially for lunch, although I would hope the food can come faster, as we only have one hour lunch break. It is spicy when it says spicy, so when you order, know your limit.

One of the worst Korean food in downtown. Came here for lunch one time and they were out of rice and any deep fried stuff. Korean restaurant with no rice? That just tells me how poorly this place is being managed.

Went here to get the spicy chicken with my friends. It sure lived up to its name! For me, spice is no issue, but for them, not so much. We asked for more water since it was too spicy, but then it didn’t come for the longest time. All that we had on the table to drink was alcohol, which, in combination with spicy food and people with relatively low levels of spice-tolerance, resulted in an interesting situation. Otherwise, the food was good and the price was fair for what we got. Cute waitress too~ DaSHAWN«Gwiyomi» Haynes-Warren

My husband and I wandered into Red Chicken on our day in Vancouver earlier this week, and definitely enjoyed it! I’ve only had Korean food a couple of times so I’m far from an expert, but it was a great and inexpensive lunch. It was almost empty around 1:30, but the server was friendly and happy to provide recommendations. I had a spicy chicken stir fry dish– it had a red chile sauce and vegetables like onion and thinly sliced zuchhini. They weren’t kidding about the heat level, but it was great! Luckily for me, the rice that came with it was delicious as well and cut the spice nicely. My husband had a spicy beef soup that came out literally boiling– it had a great flavor and he enjoyed it a lot. The restaurant was very comfortable, and at lunch it was very quiet except for the music video playing in the background. It looked like there’s a lot of great food in this area(you’re lucky Vancouverites) but I’d be happy to try Red Chicken again!

This came highly recommended by an Australian Couple that we met the last time we were in Vancouver. It is conveniently located by Robson St. When we walked in, the hostess greeted us right away. The menu Looked amazing! The food was definitely up to par !!! We are a party of 5 and the service was great and the food did not come out horribly. Their Kimchi is definitely a nice addition to their soups. ! This is a must try if you are looking for a Korean joint to try out in Vancouver.
