I’ve always been to the one in Granville Island store but since I found out this convenient location, I’ve been going here instead. Store is smaller but the quality is the same! Their Victoria Cream is amazing as usual and service is always nice, which I love. I went there today to buy some as a gift and I bought 1 for myself as a treat, which I’m about to enjoy. I’ve never tried their ice cream but I’m going to try it one day.

This chocolate store is located right as you enter Gastown from Granville square. It’s overpriced, but carry a good selection of chocolate mixed boxes for gifts. I don’t think they’re the best chocolates you can get in Vancouver, but they’re worth a try. Recommended.

Location: I forgot to stop by the store on Granville Island, so was thrilled to come across the shop in Gastown. Truth be told, I go to Rogers for their big, fat peanut butter cups, and I had to replenish my stock before heading back home. Anyway, the location is a 10 – 15 minute walk from the downtown core. Chocolate: The PB cups are the best I’ve had and I L.O.V.E them. You can really taste the peanut butter but it’s not sickeningly sweet like Reese’s, for example. The PB cup is also not oily or greasy at all and there are actual bits of peanut in them! Yes, it’s these little things that excite me. So… what are you waiting for? Go buy one, or 10. I can’t comment on their other offerings due to my fixation on their PB cups. I’ve been told that their Victorian creams are excellent. I’ve got two of those as back-ups so I’ll report back once I’ve tried them. Service: The clerk was nice. She wasn’t super chatty but I can’t fault someone for that. She was probably still coming out of a chocolate coma ;-) My only ‘issue’ is that their PB cups don’t seem available online(other than in assortments) so I can’t order them. This makes me incredibly sad. Bad Mr. Rogers!

It’s the best chocolate place in Gastown, especially during the Easter season. It’s not high end chocolate, however, it is in the similar ranks of say Purdy’s. You get what you pay for which is nicer chocolates than department stores, however, not too nice for someone who just deserves average chocolates. I love the Easter bunnies and eggs. Than again I am a sucker for Easter and bunnies. There is a lot of history behind the chocolate place. The prices are decent, however, the past few times I have been there the lady at the til was extremely annoying and pushy about selling me something or selling me more than what I already bought.

Went for my daily prenatal walk yesterday and I ended up wandering around Gastown. As I walked by their display window I started to drool, which to me means FEEDMAMAPRONTO! So I dragged my baby-daddy into the store and proceeded to point and drool at everything that looked appealing to me — which was pretty much everything! Roger’s is not Thomas Haas or Mink — but it’s still great chocolate. Their staple chocolate cream nuggets have always been a favorite of mine, especially Coconut and Raspberry. I settled on my two usual faves plus Maple and Vanilla. I’m eating the Maple one right now as I type… drooling on my laptop. Sh! ts GOOOOOOD! Drooling is a normal symptom of all pregos in the world so get used to it. The End.

Not so impressed with this one. The creams reminded me of drug store boxed chocolate like Russel Stovers. So if you like that, you’ll like this place. Not much different from Sees – which is an old favorite for a lot of people I know. One thing that rocked – ice wine truffles. So, although I wouldnt call this a «must visit» it’s worth it to stop in for one of those truffles if you happen to be walking by.

I don’t even like chocolate for the most part and I still find this place to be one of those ‘must visits’ when you come to Vancouver(especially because its so conveniently located in tourism central in Vancouver!) They have one of the hugest variety(flavors) of chocolate I’ve encountered at a candy shop as for the most part creams don’t come in flavors like ginger(which actually wasn’t too bad). I didn’t purchase anything from here but I can definitely find this to be my local hang out if I ever had a friend who was way into chocolate. Cute little shop and smells awesome inside.

Rogers’ Chocolates has been around for years, over a century, in fact. I was first introduced to it years ago, whilst in Victoria for a school trip. I think we were allowed only an hour of «free time» and my friends and I spent most of that time at the Rogers’ shop. It became a long forgotten favourite until someone bought my mom a three-month subscription to their Chocolate of the Month club. For three months, chocolate was delivered to our door: Victoria creams with caramel centres, a tin of Valentine’s Day favourites and, finally, almond brittle. While my dentist wasn’t too pleased with me that year, my tastebuds were doing euphoric somersaults.

You can figure that being around since 1885 would qualify your chocolates as one of the best and we all know that consistency is quality. Rogers Chocolates are my dad’s favourite and therefore hold a soft spot in my heart. With over 20 flavour varieties of the famous Victoria Creams, including blueberry, ginger and maraschino cherry, you are sure to find your favourite. They also carry many other varieties of chocolate treats, including truffles, baking chocolate and ice cream!

Back in 1988, my family took a trip up to Victoria. We covered the basics: *Wax Museum *Empress Hotel *Miniature World. Oh, and Roger’s Chocolates. My parents had read about how Roger’s had been around since 1885 and that the Queen Mum used to order their chocolates on a regular basis. And so, we ventured out one day, in search of these famous chocolates and ended up at their first location, which also happens to be their factory. Of the things we sampled were the ‘Empress Squares’ and the ‘Victoria Creams’. My parents bought several of each and the rest is history. Fast forward to today: My mother still orders several boxes(every single year!) of the Victoria Creams during the holidays for both our family, and her friends in Japan, who absolutely ADORE their creams! And so, this last November, I had plans to head to BC for a few days, my mother had asked that I pick up 6 boxes of V. Creams. Sure, I said, «Sure mom! No probs.» On my last day in BC, on a sleepy Sunday morning, I headed over to their tiny store on Water Street at 9am, only to find the staff locking the door, saying they’d be back soon. unless of course I knew what I wanted. Me: «Oh, I know exactly what I need and it’ll only take a sec.» Him: Sure, No problem. What can I get you? Me: Six Boxes of Victoria Creams(@ $ 30 a pop!), and 3 Empress Squares. Yep, That should do it.“ Him: Wow… Okay! Great! I’m pretty sure I made his day(both personally and monetarily). Their customer service(both online and in their stores) has always been excellent. My mother has been ordering their goods WAY before the internets, and they’ve always been fantastic! Oh yeah. and the chocolate: It’s fabulous! I’ve been a fan of the Empress Square for over 20 years now(English caramel and roasted almonds, covered in semi-sweet chocolate). Whenever I see a Roger’s, I run right in and get several of these bad boys. They’re perfection. Ahh. Sweet nostalgia. Yet another reason to head up North to the ‘Couv.
