I’ve walked many times into Roots, especially in the past few weeks in hopes of buying something for my trip to Barcelona, however, always feel empty handed. I love showing off that I am Canadian, I am proud of it, however, I find that these designs are over priced, uninspiring and outdated. They do offer high quality stuff… I just wish that it looked better that is all. Customer service has always been friendly.

Primarily focused as the infants and kids store, although they do have men’s and women’s as well. If the main store, which is 2 blocks down, doesn’t have your item in stock, make sure to check this place out as you may find you item. Additionally, the inventory slightly differs, so you may score some rarer finds.

This is no longer«Roots Kids», but come here for kids and baby stuff(the other store on Robson at Burrard have only grownup things). They’re at the back. I was sending baby clothes overseas, and chose Roots because I wanted something«Canadian». It took me a while, but I found a shirt with the iconic beaver. Most of their shirts were not overtly«Roots», which, I suppose, is better for most occasions. They had some«Vancouver» shirts, too.

Roots has an awesome little deal going for the Olympics in case you are looking for souvenirs. They have Canada hats, knitted in black, grey and red with the roots emblem and a maple leaf on one side, Canada lettering in the front and right to play emblem on the other side. So cool, 10 $ much like the prized red Olympic mitts everyone has. In addition when you buy the hat you get a large maple leaf bag with Canada written across that you wear across one shoulder. They are perfect for school or in my case to carry all the small items I purchase. Way to go Roots! Show the Canada Pride!
