I ordered the lox and cream cheese bagel. It was tasty but nothing different than I’ve had anywhere else. I placed a second order after I checked in because of the Unilocal discount. So I placed another order and the guy refused to give me the 10 percent discount. For that reason alone I will never go back. The fact that he wouldn’t honor their own coupon and loose a dollar in a single sale is terrible. They easily lost 100% in sales since I will never return.

I don’t know why this place doesn’t have a five star rating. Midnight I’m working and I had a jalapeño melt. It was so good. Packed with meat and cheese and jalapeños. I had to go back and get another one. I sure hope I can find another store closer to home.

Wood oven baked bagels, fresh and creamy cream cheese, and the best smoked wild sockeye salmon combine to make a breakfast from heaven. Everyone knows Pacific Northwest salmon is the best and these guys know how to build on that. The energy bagel is delicious, the everything bagel is my second favorite. Stop by, it’s worth it.

I went just before lunch time, and there was a poor selection(like 5 kinds of bagel). I got lox & cream cheese on a Rosemary rock salt and plain cream cheese on a poppyseed. Great taste and plenty of cream cheese, but again, I don’t understand why they didn’t have the variety.

Ever since my days as a student in Montréal, I savor the late-night memories of heading to the Mile End neighborhood for taste-testing what’s fresh at 3am and sitting out in the nearby park with hot bagels and schmear. Siegel’s carries that tradition, and it’s open 24 hours! A rarity in the cosmopolitan country town that is Vancouver. While some memories are best remembered and not recreated, I journeyed to this location after picking up my financé from work and a lovely stroll along the seawall. When I entered the building, I immediately asked for«what’s hot,» because that’s what you do a bagel place. Unfortunately the afternoon is not the best bagel time, so nothing was fresh out of the oven. I decided on a garlic bagel, with smoked salmon & black pepper schmear… which I had to clarify as cream cheese because I’m sure none of the employees understood what schmear was. It arrived warm and toasted, which was a blessing and a curse. It was great to have a warm snack after a cool walk, but the garlic was not burnt, and the taste of carcinogens permeated the flavour of fishy cream cheese. I knew I made a bad decision, but I learnt my lesson. Service was friendly, service was quick, and location is convenient for those who want something besides starbucks and Triple O. And it’s open all day and all night… to satisfy that«Fourth Meal» cravings when there’s no taco bell in sight.

Rosemary rocksalt! My personal favorite! As a montrealer with Jewish heritage, this is by far the best bagel shop in town! I used to go to St. Viateur bagel in mtl and that has been my benchmark for bagels wherever I go. Seigles ranks right up there with them. The owners are montrealers also, so you know they apprenticed at the best possible locations, whether it be St. Viateur or a couple others. I love they they make fresh bagels 24hrs a day in a wood fired oven and the service is always friendly even at 4am on a Saturday morning. They also have so many other choices that so far have not disappointed. Any other bagel I’ve tried outside of montreal or new york pales in comparison. And I’ve tried alot!

I was told by many people that Siegel’s had great gluten free bagels, I looked it up and they extensively advertised their gluten free bagels. However, my experience was vastly different: The staff is extremely uneducated about what«gluten free» is, they are also not friendly and quite rude. They claim their bagels are gluten free, except they are stored in the exact same container as the«non-gluten free» bagels, and they are made with Malt flour(barely based). There is absolutely NOTHING gluten free about this establishment. Not only are the staff rude and uneducated, but the advertisement and labeling is completely misleading and false. DONOT frequent this establishment if you are gluten free due to medical(debit ivory or celiac) reasons.

Siegel’s makes awesome bagel sandwiches. It’s a great place and always on my list to eat at when I’m passing by. It’s a bit expensive for a bagel sandwich, but excellent food in Vancouver is always going to be a bit pricey. If you don’t want to buy the expensive sandwiches, grab a dozen bagels and take it home and make some sandwiches at home. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve gone here several times since its location and hours are pretty convenient but it’s been 80% bad and 20% good. The spinach filled bagel that had a big hunk of something unidentifiable cooked in it was the last straw. The older employees are pretty unfriendly. They have a thing where they have identical menu items but with a big price difference(so you have to ask for it in the«precise» wording or you’ll get overcharged.) I got overcharged on one of these items and the guy(indian guy with the mustache) responded to me in a pretty rude way. The one on Granville Island is a better store.

Finally a bagel shop that makes Montréal style bagels. They are different from NY bagels. NY-style bagels are soft, chewy and doughy while Montréal-style bagels are smaller, denser and sweeter. The bagels here are the best ones you can get in and around downtown Vancouver. They’ve got a lot of flavors to choose from. And they do bagel sandwiches too. People rave about their Montréal smoked meat sandwiches, but I don’t think they are great. The smoked meat is no where close to Schwartz’s. Also for me, smoked meat has to be served on rye bread instead of bagels. Though the lox bagel is pretty good here. They accept cards and are open 24hrs Food: Ok Service: Friendly Ambiance: Casual Worth the price: yup

Smoked meat bagel!!! Get the large you won’t regret it. I have always favored Montréal bagels over NYC bagels(I have lived in NYC for 7 years). They are smaller, sweeter and chewy. Siegels is open 24 hours so you can get you fix at any hour. The prices are a bit steep though. A bagel and drink will set up back up to $ 15.

Love the food here. The bagels are great, but the desserts are really awesome. Parking is tight and always busy, be careful I’ve seen lots of people bang their cars there. The people are friendly and efficient. Prices are decent.

I am on my way in to work nearby and have a limited amount of time so as I hop off the bus and initially grab starbucks door… I spot this bagel place nearby. I let go of the now opened door and head over and into the bagel store. There seems to be 5 visible staff all doing tasks save one which seems to be asking the second man to my left in front of the deli counter. To the left of him is a five foot space to the cash register. Customers are led to assume they need to line up in front of the deli counter and aren’t greeted in any way. This place needs a numbering system. After 8 minutes of standing and more bodies lining up behind me a woman stands in front of the cash register and tries to order. She’s turned away and it’s then I ask if there’s some kind of lineup having now been in one 10+ minutes. The blonde man stutters that he had called out«who is next» and I look incredulous at him(perhaps the 8 people in front of him?) what?! Frustrated and bagel free I determine its not worth waiting further. Besides the menu I can see doesn’t even say how much a single bagel perhaps with some cream cheese would cost. Educate your staff on crowd management and teach them to acknowledge customers. (Pout) I went back to Starbucks for a pretzel.

You must try their smoked meat bagel! My friend brought me here, adamant that their smoked meat bagel is tastier than the infamous Schwartz’s smoked meat sandwich in Montréal, and boy is he right! You get to choose from Siegel’s abundant variety of bagels. Personally, I quite liked the sun dried tomato bagel. The meat to carb ratio was on point. The bagel itself had a subtle sweetness and did not collapse under the juicy layers of smoked meat. As a whole, the sandwich had a good amount of peppercorn and mustard, and yes, it comes with a big juicy pickle. If you’re prepared to spend ~$ 9.50 on a delectable, meaty bagel, you shall not be disappointed. Great place to grab a sandwich to go and eat at the beach!

Good location just off Burrard Bridge, easy to make a quick stop for a snack coming out of downtown. My usual is the meat-filled bagel, which is more meat than bagel if you ask me(but I’m not complaining). Sometimes we get the bagel sandwiches when they run out of meat-filled. Good size, very satisfying. I also typically come home with a bag of day-olds they have on a shelf to the side. Price is comparable to a loaf of bread from Cobs — a fresh dozen is even more obviously — but it’s not bad.

Siegel’s Bagels is open 24 hours, has a large selection of bagels baked in a fire oven, has internet, and is clean and bright. In short, it’s a great place for breakfast, a sandwich lunch or a snack. There is a small parking lot(about 15 cars) serving the shops, including a Starbucks, in this mini mall. If you want a bagel in the Kits are, this is the place!

My girlfriend surprised me with two bagels today and I was excited to have them because there was some whipped cream cheese in the fridge ready to be slathered on those pillows of love. Too bad my food porn didn’t work out. I cut the fresh bagel, threw it in the toaster(on the bagel setting with the insides facing out as directed), slathered some whipped cream cheese and proceeded to start my foodgasm. Wait. A. Minute. What the poppycock is this? The bagel sucked! It didn’t have a satisfying crunch on the outside, nor was the inside chewy and fluffy. It was dense, flavorless(even though I got a cinnamon raisin) and completely unappetizing. I didn’t want to insult the sweet gesture my partner made so I choked down half of it, staring at the other half that waited to be consumed. Please don’t make me eat it… please, not another half of this awful bagel. I sucked it up, hoped the delicious cream cheese would help soften the blow… but it didn’t. I ended up chucking it. I thought the last time I had it and wasn’t a fan that it was a one off. Today, even with the help of the fluffy and dreamy cream cheese didn’t help. I’ll be scratching this off my list. I dare say even regular store bought commercial brand bagels are better.

Wide selection of bagels. Prices are kinda steep for what you get. $ 8.50 for the Ruben. It’s good but I feel like it should be $ 6.50(it’s quite small). More like a snack than meal sized. I like how the stores open 24hrs. The pickle they give is really salty.

What not to like: fresh smell of a bread, fine ingredients, friendly staff and most of all it is not bad at all. Head and shoulders above average :) Locals have recommended the place but on Unilocal it had less then four stars so my expectations were low but to my surprise I liked the place maybe cause my expectations were way too low. Got: meat lovers bagel, salmon, poppy seed cookie triangle thing :)(sorry do not remember the name) Costed around $ 25 – 28. Meat bagels — loved it Salmon — loved it Cookie — is Ok Would recommend it to try, local have recommended to try those three. Meat, spinach stuffed bagels looked good too but i had so many other venders to go trough so purchased the locals recommended ones. Line wasn’t bad around 10AM three people a head of me, waited around 8 – 10′ to get my food.

My boyfriend used to live a block away and absolutely loves this place. He was so excited to bring me here on our trip to Vancouver. * The bagels — 5 stars when you do get a fresh bagel, it’s amazing. It’s one of those things where I feel like I hadn’t had a true bagel before that; everything else was too crumbly or fluffy. Siegel’s bagels have a much thicker outer shell, so nice and crunchy, before you reach the gooey inside. I also like that they’re not disgustingly huge, just the right size for a good sandwich(although if you’re really starving you can have two). pic of the selection: However, our Lox & Reuben both had kind of stale bagels – almost all crunch, no gooey. Too hard. But a few minutes later we got 6 bagels to go, and all of those were fresh and perfect. And a few minutes after that, my boyfriend got a 2nd sandwich, the Smoked Meat(don’t judge), and the bagel on that one was also amazing. My reviews below are based on the sandwich toppings, separate from the overall bagel. * Lox & Cream Cheese($ 9.50), on poppyseed — 4 stars pic: A thick slab of cream cheese, a thick slab of very intensely red, soft lox. You get each half separately. Each has just one circular piece of red onion and a few capers(which pretty much go flying unless you make a concerted effort to get them in your bite. Otherwise I learned to stuff them between the lox and cream cheese). To make this even better, I would add another layer of lox and a little more onion. * Reuben($ 8.50, plus extra 50g smoked meat for $ 2.25), on rosemary rock salt — 4 stars pic: bite: cross-section: Nice. The meat was sliced very thin, tasty(though not as smoky as I’d hoped). The sauerkraut was distributed a bit unevenly so as I was sharing with my boyfriend, I ended up with some bites that were mostly sauerkraut. I think the cheese is swiss as it’s rather stretchy, and they could use a bit more of this too. * Rugelach, Walnut + Chocolate($ 1.75) — 3.5 stars pic: bite: Good but not mind-blowing. The chocolate wasn’t really present. The texture was pretty moist. Mildly sweet. * Hamentashen, poppyseed($ 1.75) — 4.5 stars pic: bite: I loved this! The dough had a lot of poppyseed mixed in and I loved the texture from biting into them and the little explosions of poppy flavor. Then the filling was this dense, sweet, moist poppyseed thing that was fantastic. Pretty sweet too. Our receipt: * Montréal Smoked Meat on a Bagel($ 8.95 small), on poppyseed — 4 stars pic: Also good, like the Reuben without the dressings! Again, the meat wasn’t very smoked, but it was just generally good.
