Amazing lox and cream cheese! Located in the Granville Public Market, this place is a must go. As recommended by a fellow Unilocaler, I tried their lox and cream cheese on their rosemary and rock salt bagel. Absolute perfection! Though it was a little pricey for a small bagel(almost $ 10), I would definitely recommend it for the delicious smoked salmon. When in Vancouver, you just need to get the smoked salmon on EVERYTHING! Simple, fast, and delicious, what more could I ask for?

So tasty bagels!!! We got the Montréal bagel(smoked meat) and the wild salmon bagel both were super tasty … A little bit pricey but worth it! So good!

If you get something here, definitely get one of the bagels with their smoked meats. I really enjoyed the montreal smoked meat. The bagels themselves, though, were not excellent. I found the ones we had to be small and they didn’t have that fresh, warm taste you’d expect from buying bagels from a bagel place. Personally, I think there are better food alternatives in Granville market. But if you do come here, make sure you get smoked meats with your bagel!

Great cinnamon raisin bagel on a Friday morning. Crispy crust with a soft inside. To bad I don’t live here so I can enjoy them more often!

I was told by many people that Siegel’s had great gluten free bagels, I looked it up and they extensively advertised their gluten free bagels. However, my experience was vastly different: The staff is extremely uneducated about what«gluten free» is, they are also not friendly and quite rude. They claim their bagels are gluten free, except they are stored in the exact same container as the«non-gluten free» bagels, and they are made with Malt flour(barely based). There is absolutely NOTHING gluten free about this establishment. Not only are the staff rude and uneducated, but the advertisement and labeling is completely misleading and false. DONOT frequent this establishment if you are gluten free due to medical(debit ivory or celiac) reasons.

Seriously? These bagels are not very good. Besides the fact that they’re on the smallish side with a big hole, these bagels were stale. On top of that, service was slow and indifferent. The lox was tasty I guess, but not any more or less special than anywhere else on Granville Island or Vancouver. I’m not trying to be a New York bagel snob(I think plenty of cities make very good bagels), but this place is not worth a visit.

Freshly baked, lots of flavors, good service, good sandwiches, good taste, so we were happy with this Canadian-style bagel.

I’m here at seigal bagels at granville market and checked in, with a pop up of 10% off but they told me it’s for the other store, so i couln’t get the discount: salmon lox — 4 stars — for $ 9.50 the bagel was really good but the salmon was a little fishy. chocolate strawberry croissant — 4 stars for $ 1.89, this was pretty good with some cream cheese in it. The raspberry chocolate was pretty good too, but not as good.

I stop here and pick up bagels whenever I’m in Vancouver from Victoria. They’re slightly better than the Mount Royal bagels we have here and certainly a better variety, but are they Montréal-style bagels? I was born and raised in Montréal & the answer is «Absolutely not!!» Montréal bagels are thinner and chewier. I really miss Montréal bagels!!!

Recognized this place on our first trip to Granville public market. When we came back another day during the morning hours, it was clear I hd to try one of their bagels. I wanted cream cheese and lox and was recommended to have it on the rosemary and sea salt bagel. It was delicious. The texture of the bagel was great: crusty outside, soft inside but not chewy. Only criticism: the flavour of the rosemary was bit overpowering.

I stopped by here with a friend after a theater performance, and had a couple of their stuffed bagels. Tasted fine, but rather doughy. The regular bagels looked very good, so perhaps I’ll try them next time. Very friendly service, and well-priced.

My favourite place for bagels! They have a good assortment of bagels that are baked fresh daily. The prices are great, and the staff are always really friendly and helpful! They are a little bit pricier than what you get at the supermarket but you can definitely see the difference in quality and taste. Make sure you try some of the baked goods and take a container of the delicious salmon cream cheese home! Don’t forget to ask for a stamp card. :)

The Montréal smoked meat sandwich is officially my new addiction here. OMG so good and moist. Of course it is on one the best bagels in the city. Customer service was very friendly.

Sorry to rain on the bagel parade, but I just thought this place was a-ok. I actually wanted to go elsewhere, but changed my plan since that food stall wasn’t IN Granville Island Public Market. (So truth be told, I wasn’t really in the mood for a bagel, it was just bookmarked and it was nearby.) Anyway, prices are somewhat high for the portion you are served. Bagel is on the small side and smoked meat was paper thin — as opposed to thicker cut. Regular, i.e. Small, smoked meat sandwich is like $ 9.75…let’s just call it $ 10, shall we? But I guess since it’s located in a tourist spot, they could get away by charging much more than the actual product is worth. Service came with a smile, but actually sandwich came much later.

This place is amazing! Visited from Orange County and found this on Unilocal with a 20% coupon… But by it was well worth full price! The bagel stuffed with smoked meat was awesome! Wish I could have tried some others.

So disappointing! Came based on the reviews, but what a terrible mistake! The rosemary salt bagel tasted undercooked and soggy on the inside. It was so sad. The rugelach was not bad, but at $ 1.75 for a tiny piece, it was way overpriced.

Pssst: The location on Cornwall St is open 24h ;) So I am used to go at this location. Siegel’s Bagels have the BEST bagel I never had! Always fresh and a great varieties. You SHOULD bring at home a dozen of bagel and(they are selling two size) their HOMEMADE cream cheese… Plain, Dills, smoked Salmon cream cheese… DELISH! Also the bagel with ”Montréal Smoked meat” is amazing. Also everyone should try their Traditional ”Rugelach” … They are made in the form of a crescent by rolling a triangle of dough around a filling… You can choose between: Chocolate, strawberries, and raisin and cinnamon. I give the chocolate and Strawberries an 9.5 out 10. And a 10 out 10 to the raisins and cinnamon Rugelach. A guilty pleasure on a ”cheat day”. If you are eating in for two it can be a little bit pricey $$$ but you will be satisfy!

Tummy, meet your good morning bagel. Last week, we walked by Siegel’s Bagels in the Granville Public Market and oggled the stuffed bagels. I hadn’t taken note of the name of the stand, only the bagels. Fast forward to Monday morning. I’m back at the market and I’m hungry! Like, I’ve been out in Vancouver all weekend hiking about and partying kind of hungry… or is that called hungover? Either way, Calgary Unilocalers know just how much I love me my breakfast sandwiches. Bagels included. This one deserves a shout out. Your choice of bagel then toasted with an egg, Montréal smoked meat and cheese. Wait… it gets better. You can make them at home yourself. How? Buy a dozen bagels, purchase some of the smoked meat they serve right from the stand and have your own Siegel breakfast bagel every day of the week! Why didn’t I think of that before I left town?

From walking around Public Market this seemed to be the best thing in offer. Got the Montréal smoked meat on rosemary salt bagel. Wow what a bagel. The meat totally takes over the bagel. The meat to bagel ratio is 2:1. It was pretty delicious but I would’ve liked more bagel. The rosemary salt bagel was more of a standout for me than the smoked meat. At just shy of $ 10 for the regular bagel it’s neither expensive nor cheap. Definitely a must try if your at the market.

Siegel’s Bagels has a large selection of Montréal style bagels. They have a location on Granville Island inside the public market. Bagels are $ 1 each which is reasonable and in line with the going rate at Seattle’s Montréal style bagel purveyor, Eltana. Picked out three bagels. The poppy seed, onion and sundried tomato varieties. Texture and taste is indeed different from a New York bagel. However, I found Eltana’s bagels a bit better than the ones found here. Something about the chewiness of the bagels doesn’t quite hit the right notes. It is a bit too dense. However seeing that most Americans and maybe some Canadians are unfamiliar with Montréal style bagels, I think Siegel’s is worth a try for this reason. Compare the bagels here to the New York style bagels and determine for yourself which style you prefer.
