I love the clothes but hate the customer service, it must be a neighborhood thing. This location lacks in variety of sizes compared to the other locations that I’ve been to frequently.

I just love their clothes. There is always something unique and decently priced to be found at this shop.

I really like the clothing items in here so that, to be clear, gets 3.5 stars(sometimes it’s a bit to pricey or outside of my size range… but they’re fun to look at). However, I walked in today to see what they had. I was in the market for a fun summery jacket and they had a good amount, some on sale. I was on my way home from work/school so maybe I don’t look the most fashionable… i dunno. Sneakers, tank top, cardigan, jeans, backpack. But whatever it was, I didn’t even get as much as a hello from the girls working there when I walked in. I figured it might be because they were busy gabbing about their personal lives. But whatever. That didn’t bother me so much that they didn’t acknowledge me initially. But I spent a good 15 – 20 minutes browsing and still no acknowledgement. Then a couple other women walk in, and they were greeted. Then they were even asked if a fitting room could be started for them. So I decided to look on the other side of the store. They just kind of glanced at me and continued on whatever they were doing. It’s not even like they were super busy! At that point it was clear that those sales girls weren’t going to acknowledge me at all and so I decided to walk out. Are these girls trained to be like that? That if someone walks in and they don’t look like the store’s target demographic of customers(i.e. fancy) then don’t waste your time helping them? This has actually happened to me before at this location(where I was in the store for about 20 minutes and not a single sales girl acknowledged my presence) but I gave them the benefit of the doubt then. Ughh… i was so mad. I actually wanted a couple of jacket/hoodies from there too but I’m so put off by their attitude, I refuse to give them my business. So Spank: you have nice stuff, but if you want to make a few hundred dollars more for every customer that experiences the above, train your staff to be more friendly and helpful to everyone.

I love this store. They always have the best fashions in sort, it’s not cheap, but its reasonable. The shop assistants are always really helpful and friendly without being stalkers following you around the store. Best of all, everything is merchanised really well so shopping is just a breeze!

Spank is okay. It’s a little too funky and paint-by-numbers flirty for me but they usually carry quirkier pieces as well. Unlike some other stores around that also focus on representing local quality designers, this place needs a bit more editing. It’s hard to get a sense of who it is they’re trying to dress since the styles here vary so much, which is a good thing in that it can appeal to anyone who walks in but does little to solidify the store’s own identity.

Spank Clothing and Accessories on 4th Avenue in Kits sort of intimidated me the first time I checked it out. This funky shop has a very minimalist approach when it comes to décor and, for clutter bugs like me, this can be a little off-putting. However, once I got past the sparse elements of interior design and actually concentrated on the clothing, I have to say I was more than impressed. In fact, because Spank keeps the atmosphere light and airy, and doesn’t stock its merchandise in large numbers, browsing is made really easy, especially for the easily distracted shopper. Spank focuses on casual, feminine, flirty fashions, and represents a strong contingent of local, West Coast designers, as well as seeking out the hippest brands from south of the border and east of the country.
