If you want to eat something delicious, definitely come here. If you want to eat something delicious and spend over an hour to order, eat and pay your bill… come here too. I have yet to be disappointed by their menu. Their burgers are exactly what you want your burger to taste like: meaty, juicy and messy(I know mess isn’t a flavour but I feel like it’s not a real burger unless the juices are all over the plate as you eat it). I am also a fan of their brunch, that pulled bacon they use on their bennies are magic. I would eat that every day… if that was somehow a calorie-wise desicion. Now you know the food is good because this place is always busy. That being said, I have noticed that this does slow down the service. I often come here for lunch it does take a good hour and a half to order, get my food, and pay. If you have a lot of time to spare, come here. If you’re in a rush… well… you’ve been warned.

The only reason I’m giving them a 3 star is because the 1st time I was here the service was HORRIBLE!!! I found out at the end that the tip was already included on the bill… that explains why!!! The service the 2nd time is really Good, why? Because the tip is no longer included so they actually need to try.

I’d say this place ranks 3.5, but rounding up because the service was solid. Came here after the Rock n Roll Vancouver 10K. The person who’d made the reservation made it a bit on the early side given the distance of the finish line to this location. Thankfully, when the first two of us showed up, and super late, they were very gracious about it and still took our party. It was our bad, and they were awesome about it. Even our server was great. They didn’t have iced tea(which is what I was really wanting) and he helped me improvise with hot tea and a cocktail shaker filled with ice so I could make my own(THANKYOU!) Food was solid all around. I appreciated that they had a variety of options for people who don’t eat pork or are vegetarian(we had both in our party) and all the food looked awesome. I had the Kits Beach Benedict(a vegetarian option) and it didn’t disappoint. Everything about managing a loud(but polite and fun) group of hungry runners was well done(easy payment, etc.).

Ok they have a lot of drinks. Drinks aside though, I would just like to point out that someone absolutely nailed it when they put pulled pork and soft poached egg on a pizza. Absolute genious in my books. Where this restaurant falls short though is the lack of attentiveness. I was at Joey’s yesterday for lunch and had a constant supply of new refills of my pop before I’d even reached the halfway point of my drink. Here though, there wasn’t a single refill or even an ask to see if I would like a refill. Food is fine, drinks are great, but they still have to hit the little things which count and there’s some work that needs to go into that before they can earn another star or two.

Wine and beer flights! Yay! With an extensive selection of each. The location of this place is awesome. Basically, connected to the convention centre and on the harbour. My biggest complaint was that it is fall and I cannot eat outside! I ordered the oyster po’boy. OMG. Just too delicious. The oysters were friend perfectly. The bread was light and toasty. Sweet pickles on the side. Overall, the food is great and unique. My friend had a peanut butter and jelly burger and it was CRAZY good(she made sure that I mentioned it in this review so others could try as well!) All the flavours complimented each other in beautiful ways — savoury and a hint of sweet. I’m going back there soon!

Been here on two different trips to Vancouver and have always been pleasantly surprised. Nice and friendly staff with good service and tips on what to get up to in Vancouver. Great selection of beers, especially local ones. And last but not least, the PB burger, it’s so fantastic I had to come back agin just to try it once more!

Its a nice pub that serves what appears to be mostly(or only?) guest beers. The place is divided into two parts. The first a beer garden had a bit of a wait so we elected to eat in the inside portion across the walkway which had no wait. The indoor restaurant was like walking into someones den(once you got past the long bar filled with people that perhaps have had several too many). They have a lot of used old books(man may one day walk on the moon, new for 196x are these cowboy and Indian costumes) and TVs showing baseball games. They had a nice selection of beers and a fairly standard pub menu. The biggest issue I had with the menu were the burgers: whats up with only cooking the meat to well done? If you don’t trust your meat supplier, grind your own or find a new one. The people that had the burgers like them except they felt they were overcooked. The Hawaiian style pizza was ok but didn’t wow me. Service for a busy weekend nice was mostly swift, there were a few times, especially when wanting the bill that a gaff hook or lasso could have been helpful. Overall it was a nice place to eat in a good part of town. The problem is it was surrounded by what appeared to be nice places and pubs. Were I to return to Vancouver it’d be a toss up whether I cam back here or tried that Irish looking pub around the corner.

If I could give this more than 5-stars, I would. Absolutely amazing experience! I made a reservation three weeks in advance for a group of 20 people. I wanted to throw the ultimate surprise party for my fiancé’s birthday and thought Tap and Barrel was a good location to do that at. A few days before the date, I added two more people to the reservation, without any issues. The day of, Tap and Barrel called me to confirm the reservation. Everything was good to go. The surprise party was a total success. Everyone showed up and the staff was excellent at helping coordinate things. One of our friends was in a wheelchair, but had no issues accessing anything in the restaurant and loved that they had a handicap washroom. Our server was Lauren and she did a fantastic job. Seriously. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to take care of such a large group, but she facilitated everyone’s requests with no issues. I had stated when I made the reservation that I wanted separate bills for everyone and she did a great job with that as well. She asked for names to help ensure the bills were separate and remembered our names throughout the night! Everyone loved their food orders and our drinks were refilled regularly. A friend brought a cake in from elsewhere, which Tap and Barrel allowed and Lauren brought it out when I requested it. The only downside was they didn’t have a candle — something to note if you plan to bring your own cake: bring a candle too! One person had an issue with her bill: she didn’t realize that gratuity was already included so she tipped on top of it. When she noticed her mistake, she mentioned it to Lauren who gave her free drinks to make up for it. The entire group said I did a great job choosing Tap and Barrel as a venue, but really, Tap and Barrel is the one who should take all the credit. A huge thank you to Lauren for being so patient, having a smile on her face the whole night, and for providing us with such good service. We wouldn’t have had such a successful night without her — and the rest of the staff’s — help. Thank you Tap and Barrel!

We came for lunch and because there was a group of 100+ people by the cauldron doing yoga with the loud speaker, we opted to sit inside. It was pretty quiet inside but the outside was quite packed. We ordered the santa fe chicken tacos and the seared spicy tuna burger to share. Taste wise, it was average. The tacos tasted good, but a big downsize was the chicken, or rather, lack thereof. My tacos barely had any chicken, and after biting off a good chunk on both ends, I finally got to the chicken. The pieces were probably about an inch and a half so I felt it was lacking a lot in the protein. The guac and salsa complimented it well though. The price was reasonable for $ 12.95, since there were 3 tacos, but no fries. My favourite tacos from chain restaurants is hands down still Joey’s baja fish tacos, and this paled in comparison. The tuna burger was very interesting, in a good way. My boyfriend took the first bites and he commented that it was ‘very light’, and when I bit into it, I realized he was right. I think it was mostly due to the sesame bun. It had a subtle sweet flavour, and it went surprisingly well with the tuna and the sauce. It definitely tasted a lot like the burger buns I have in China as they veer on the sweet side, and overall I felt the burger had a very asian feel to it, although it doesn’t claim to be asian inspired. There were a few pieces of pickled cucumbers that were EXACTLY like how my grandma makes it, and along with the crispy onion ring in the middle, it all went together very well. This was a definite winner and by far the better dish between the two. I do recommend trying this if you want a ‘lighter’ burger that’s a little different than the norm. The bun was the star for me. Service was pretty good. Our server didn’t keep us waiting long. Overall an average experience, but I do prefer the other restaurants in the area(cactus, mahony & sons) for their food.

Can’t beat the view here on a hot sunny day! There are daily drink specials, though I wish they had some happy hour specials on their food. The food is pretty good, but I find it pricey for what it is(I know, I know, location.). Well, mains seem to be pretty standard, but its the appies which seem a bit pricier(eg: $ 12 for a few chicken strips, no fries). Though, I could definitely live off their deep fried pickles. Now those were delicious! I’m also not a beer drinker, so I probably don’t appreciate this place as much as others do. All in all, I’d still come back, its a good location with good food.

I have to say the customer service I received here was great. There was some confusion over our drinks, so they ended up giving us a pint of beer for free! The servers were also super nice and they were really friendly. I ordered the wings and I really, really love the dip that came with it. I think it was ranch with blue cheese. The spiciness of the wings was just right for me and the sauce was so good. My friends had the spicy salmon salad. I didn’t try it, but my friend who doesn’t usually like salad said that she liked it a lot. I will probably try it when I come back. We also shared the margherita pizza. It was okay for me, but my friends loved it. I liked that they added the basil on top because I love basil. The beer was good. We originally ordered Green Leaf, but they said they ran out so we opted for 33 Acres of Sunshine instead. The server came back and said Green Leaf was still available and they gave us a pint for free because of the confusion. I liked Green Leaf more and my friend liked 33 Acres of Sunshine more, which was perfect because we had a pint of each. This was my first visit to a Tap & Barrel and I would definitely go again.

Hello Tap & Barrel, you are such a welcomed addition to our neighbourhood! Wines on tap, craft beers, delicious Tuna burger, GREAT patio, servers that look genuinely happy to be there… and the list goes on. I’ve taken to sitting at the social tables just because the view is better. The best spot at the social tables is right at the end, next to the water(or very close to it). Can I just mention wines on tap again? It’s so good. My favourite item, so far, is the Spicy Seared Tuna Burger. I love that it’s practically sashimi. I love the avocado, red peppers, sprouts, tomato and lettuce mix. I love the mayo and spice. I love it. It just all comes together like a mouthful of ‘yum’s. The only constructive criticism I have for the burger is about the bun — and I’m saying this only because this burger has potential to be *perfect*, so why not. The bun could be fluffier. Currently, it takes away from the flavours of the tuna, vege and sauces ever so slightly. The sesame part of it is lovely; but if it could be baked a little fluffier? That’s all I’m saying. Otherwise, it’s this close to being the most flawless Tuna burger in town — I would know! Your servers out on the patio are exceptionally happy, so bravo! You’re doing it right! Wines on tap are so great — check out the ones with a special marker on them as they are exclusive to Tap & Barrel. Beer selection is sufficient; where there is Fat Tug, there is joy. You can bet that I’ll be spending a lot more sunny afternoons here! Woot!

Canada Day brunch is exactly what I was looking for today, and Tap & Barrel is the place to go! I asked the hostess if we were aloud to sit in the waterfront area because there is a nice view, she said yes and directed us to the area. Since the tables were long and there were only 4 tables, we were sharing a table with two other people which I did not mind. I ordered the strawberry banana French toast and oh my god it is so good. There were 3 pieces of bread and it was topped with strawberries, bananas, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce. It was sooooo good. (The picture below is from my snapchat story) My little brother ordered a small cheese pizza and he finished all of it! My parents shared steak and eggs which was a platter with steak… and eggs. Also some toast, tater tots, and onion rings. Overall the service was very friendly and polite which is what i usually look for in a restaurant. Everybody should come here for a delicious brunch and dinner

You can sit outside at covered tables if the weather is good and they have probably 100 seats outside. Gorgeous views. Inside is nice and lots of HDTV for sports. I had the curry Salmon and Prawns and it was one of the best dishes I’ve had in a sports bar. I sat at the bar and had great service, good wine and attentive bartenders. The beautiful people are out tonight because U2 are performing nearby starting a world tour. So the scenery is very nice. The women are dressed to impress.

Great for game night! Although the Canucks lost tonight(it hurts, still hurts now), I am still feeling pretty good due to the good wine/beer and service at tap and barrel. The servers are very understanding and patient, which is good during game season. I would come back again for another game :)

This place has an awesome array of share dishes and copious amounts of beer and wine flights! Key highlights for me that night was the flatbread pizza, giant pretzel with cheese sauce, and the grilled cheese with tomato bisque for dipping. Yum!!! Also the device was great and handled our large group very well(especially on a game night!).

Food: 3⁄5 Service: 3⁄5 Ambiance: 3⁄5 Salt and Pepper Wings — very small wings. PB&J Burger — 7oz 100% CAB chuck burger patty, chipotle peanut butter, bacon jam, mayo, lettuce & tomato. Pretty tasty and juicy. Liked the combination of the peanut butter but couldn’t taste any chipotle or bacon jam. A bit greasy also. But still pretty delicious. Good selection of wines and beers on tap. Sitting at the bar has its benefits — read: lots of sampling before making your final decision. ;) Average food and service. Our server forgot we had requested half and half wings(salt & pepper and hot), as our order only came with salt and pepper. The patio wasn’t open that day because of the weather, but I’d imagine it would be a nice spot in the summer to people watch and view of the water.
