Why is this place so crowded again? Have the residents of Champlain Heights lost all sense of taste? The only thing going for this place is the fact that its super cheap, which explains why there is always a huge lineup there. The food is barely average.

If you are hungry and would like cheap chinese takeout food, this is your place. Family business it looks like, always the same people working there. The best dishes there would be spicy tofu, deep fried squid and the deep fried fish. This place gets your stomach filled up Quality of food is maybe not something you are going to get.

I ordered the 2 item combo, fried rice that was bland, lemon chicken(the lemon sauce that comes with it is good but only with the chicken, mix it with anything else and it tastes like cough syrup even on its own.) And deep friend squid which was almost like any other deep fried squid. Service is fast and food is cheap which is also a plus.

This is located inside Champlain Mall. I come here maybe twice a week for cheap Chinese when it is really late(after Grocery shopping). I love it when they yell«closing special» near the end of the night ’cause you can get a decent amount of food for real cheap. It’s not the best Chinese but it is cheap.

Clean simple, well priced and good tasting. My son insisted that I review them because their rating was too low. I generally eat vegetarian on the go and their chowmein with steamed veggies was yummy.

I don’t know if it’s because of what I ordered but the food I had was terrible. I ordered a two item combo with the chowmein noodles — no flavor, just bland thin noodles with sprouts. My two items I choose were the sesame chicken and the spicy salty breaded fish. The sesame chicken was too chewy and dry, like it was made the day before. The spicy salty fish was good but I’ve definitely had better. My meal with a bottle of water came to around $ 8… I ended up throwing out half the meal because I truly could not eat it. I should’ve followed my intuition that this random food court Chinese spot in Champlain square would be a total flop. Lesson learned! Let’s just hope I don’t have problems at the toilet!

Compared to Yaohan’s food court, or Kent’s Kitchen, it’s a notch down but if you’re craving for this type of chinese fast food, non-authentic, you’ll do OK. Just beware of plenty of food colouring when I look at the sweet and sour pork lol. For 2 items plus fried rice, at just $ 6.20 screams value, way more filling than A&W across the plaza.

Cheap, clean fast food. I like this place. I agree that it’s not traditional Chinese, but they do a fair good job at creating food for this family-oriented neighbourhood. The place usually has a big line-up when I occasionally stop on my way home from work. For ONLY $ 12, I get two large dinner takeout containers filled to the brim. Enough for a huge, mixed dinner for the two of us. They are surprisingly consistent with their recipes and food quality. Consistently OK. I like the veggie dishes and the salt-pepper sole(fish) the best — very fresh and perfectly cooked. The other dishes are just okay but everything is prepared fresh. Good value for the money, IMO. Then there’s the inconsistent generosity and moods of the servers. Some are super friendly, others are super generous. It’s sort of a coin toss what you’ll get in terms of an extra spoon of food and/or a smile — or not. For me, it’s part of the charm of the place. If you can overlook a little under-seasoning in the fried rice and beef chow fun, a bit of small bone left in the boneless pepper chicken, slightly overcooked pork in sweet and sour sauce, and the luck of draw service experience, then you just might find the value and convenience as appealing as I do.

The food is acceptable, price is fair-high by my standards. What I can say is that I am willing to spend 10 $ on a meal in some other place with better attitude towards their customers. Of all the staff only one of them has an acceptable attitude, this is a place I will only consider if there are no other place to eat.

This is probably one of the better non-chinese chinese fast food(Chinese inspired food made for westerners) places. If I’m in need of a lemon chicken, sweet and sour pork or honey garlic chicken and black pepper fix then this is my go to place! The fried squid ain’t so bad either. Portions are big and prices are decent. I’m having a non-chinese chinese fast food craving right now! I’m lucky enough to live pretty close to this place so it’s just a 2 min stroll away, hungry!
