Pretty bad overall. No wonder it’s empty all the time. The waitstaff is nice enough, but don’t really know anything about the specials, despite being on many menu boards in and outside. Several of the happy hour prices are incorrect, which has to be illegal in someway. I gave this place a few tries, but no more. The bathrooms are among the worst in a pub I’ve ever seen. Subpar beer quality. Food was ok. There are so many other options around this area, this is not worth the time or money. Sure wish it’d finally go out of business, so that something better would open in this prime location.

Not great! The beer is cold and the service was good, but the nachos were soggy and the salsa was completely dry, just chunked bits with no liquid(gross and not fresh!) the wings, while lots of flavours were over fried, too crunch and dry. Won’t be back!

Got 20 wings and some beers. The beer selection is pretty«dumb jock», lacking any Vancouver local craft to be proud of. Had Sleeman’s on tap, which is better than Budweiser, but not by a lot. I can’t imagine anyone in their right mind serving the $ 20 for 20 chicken wings and not feeling like a complete asshole. I mean, they are just not good at all. So, the servers? Ours was nice. Visited us often enough, considering how busy she must have been. Good job and thanks! The view? Awesome! Too bad our dirty table stunk from the smelly rag used to wipe it down with.

They have some great deals for Happy Hour. $ 3.75 highballs and some draught beer for $ 3.85. $ 2 off appies as well so not too bad. I really like the wings here. 30 flavours to choose from and they are huge! They have a patio area looking out to English Bay but it’s not very big so it fills up fast. I was lucky enough to get a patio seat on the hot sunny day we came to visit. I’d definitely come back again.

This place quietly has the best butter chicken downtown. Indian owned and I ain’t talking prairies.

Went in for a bevvy & a snack. It was empty on a busy Sat afternoon. First drink… draught cider but they poured it over ice! Yuck. Asked for that to be straight up… they thought straining it and providing the original quantity(WAY less than 20 ounces) of watered down cider was good. I disagreed and asked for a pint of Strongbow. No big deal. They were out. I opted to leave and visit one of the great places nearby. Stopped to chat to the bartender/day manager on the way out regarding draught service, cider et cetera. I was definitely put in my place. Snarkily informed that ALL Donnelly group restaurants serve this way, that Carlsberg tells them to do this AND that I must not be from Vancouver. ?!? I left very happily, never to return. Discussed the interaction with several neighbours(we live across the street), & all found the event to be par for the course at that establishment.

Great wings. I come from the USA and my favorite wing place was Buffalo Wild Wings. This place serves different kind of wings, but it’s just as good… if not better! — I usually order my wings dry(no sauce or rub). The breading(aka fried goodness) of the wings are delicious! Lotsa of flavor! — About 10 bucks for 8 wings. Kinda pricey for wings. — Wings are bigger than Buffalo Wild Wings or Hooters. I’m 160lbs and I ate about 8 wings, and was feeling pretty full. — The Habanero hot sauce is INTENSE. but i absolutely loved it! A++ — Beer selection was pretty decent. Not too many Craft Beers though. Only the typical Ales you always find at Vancouver bars. C+ — Service — kinda slow, but the restaurant was super-packed because they were showing the UFC fight. so It’s all good. — restrooms are kinda dirty, but its bar. so again, its ok. — the hostess at the front was very friendly and accomodating. — lotsa of cabs in the front. A+ Enjoy!

We came for wings and beer, though I made the mistake of ordering a salad that was half full of rotten lettuce and was not at all as the menu described. The beer list and menu were not accurate and did not represent what was actually available. The service was terrible! Very slow with missed and incorrect orders. The house wine tasted suspiciously watered down. BUT! The wings were pretty good and there was a nice view, so I’m giving it to 2 stars, though it probably only deserves 1.

30 flavors of wings and 3 wing nights a week(Tuesday Thursday, Sunday) with half price wings. They show all the big sports events on numerous TV sets and have a daily beer special that is easy on the budget. I’ve always had great service at the Taphouse and have added it to my places I go regularly.

Middle of the road pub. This venue has alot of potential considering it’s location and the view of English bay however the service severely lacks and isn’t a very popular spot, almost empty on most days I’ve been there. If you’re stopping through and looking for a cheap eat and quick drink i’d recommend it — but if you’re looking for somewhere fun to take a group of friends out, this isn’t the place for you.

Kid’s Menu & Games WITH Sound. Finally! My wife & I are big football fans and love being at the bar where you can see more than one game at a time. We like hanging with our daughter even more so we are basically forced to watch at home cuz there are very few kid friendly sports viewing locations in town. So we visited the Denman Taphouse on Sunday night where we saw(and listened!) to the end of the Canuck game and then they promptly moved the sound over to Sunday Night Football. Awesome. I should also add that not only is this place kid friendly but we also ventured in with my folks who were in town. Everybody enjoyed themselves. 30 flavours of wings were on special for $ 4.95 /lb which were some of the best we have had in town. Everyone was really happy with their entrees as well. The service also was very good. In order to give them 5 stars I would like to see them be open earlier at least on Sundays to watch the early games and after such good meals, the dessert menu was a bit of a letdown. Overall, I would recommend this place for any sports fan — especially those with children who are fun to go to restaurants with like our daughter. The virgin strawberry margarita was the biggest hit all around. Thank you to the Denman Taphouse for a great experience.

This place summed up in 1 word: Awful I used to go there for Wings Tuesdays and Thursdays with my group of friends until we experienced TERRIBLE customer service. The waitress was rude, she did not hear what we were trying to order which we said pretty loud and clear, the food took forever, and when we told her that we were unhappy with the food she argued back. UMHELLO?! As a waitress it is the number 1 rule to put customers first and not argue and pick a fight. Never going here again. I can find wings somewhere else. This place is always empty for a reason. Denman Taphouse has potential to be a good bar/restaurant… but first they need to hire waitresses who treat their customers like PEOPLE. Their waitresses think that they are queens and just sit and chat, don’t bring out the food on time, and give you attitude if you have a question on the menu. Wouldn’t be surprised if this place went out of business.

The nachos we shared were plentiful for their price, and the kitchen threw in a side of guac for free to compensate for the delay. Our server was attentive and kind. They could be doing more to hype up the environment on hockey nights. It was nearly empty. There were a couple of customers in the corner swearing and making homophobic comments very very loudly, and they were not asked to leave by the management.

Went here with a couple of friends on a Wings Night. Horrible wings I don’t think 7 – 8 wing equal a pound. It took so long to get our orders and our food. I was so hungry I did not complain. I was sick the next day and so were some of my friends. I don’t think the wing were cooked all the way. The waitress tried her best to serve us it seems like they were low on staff. «IFYOUCAN’T HANDLE A WINGSNIGHTDON’T HAVEONE»!

This place can be pretty hit or miss, especially the food. They have a new menu, which I have not tried out yet, but I am crossing my fingers it’s an improvement on the old one! I have heard good things about the wings, though. The location is awesome! It looks all tucked away upstairs on the corner of Davie and Denman, but once you get upstairs it’s huge. There is lots of space and a nice view of English Bay. This is the perfect place to catch a hockey game or a UFC pay per view as there are big screen TVs lining every wall. There is a $ 5 cover charge on fight nights, and if it’s a star-studded card I’d recommend showing up early to get a seat. The last time Georges St. Pierre fought, I arrived 30 minutes before the pay per view started and it was already standing room only. Pints start at $ 3.75, which is usually what draws me in! I’ve been served a flat pint from time to time, but my solution is usually just to switch to another type of beer as it usually seems to be a problem with the keg. The staff can also be hit or miss, but there are a few employees who have been working there for at least as long as I’ve been a customer and they’re great! I like to sit at the bar because we always get great service from the bartenders.

I came here because i was on a mission for good wings… and i read that this is the place to go, but unfortunately i was wrong. I did give it 2 tries as well. The quality of the wings are good, they’re big and cooked well both times, but the flavoring varied greatl from the 1st and 2nd time and the second time they were not hot at all, we were looking for some realy spicy wings and this what we got was a joke. The staff was ok, nothing great, it was a sat night and there was maybe 10 other ppl there, the bathroom was disgusting. They are in a great location though, with a nice view of hte ocean, but its too bad they can’t get their act together in terms of consistentcy and atmosphere.

Well, where to start. I never thought I’d honestly give a bad review but I have to this time. I won’t give it a 1 star because that just seems so rude though I cannot go above a 2. The service was slow but not in a «we’re swamped» kind of way it’s slow in a «I can’t be bothered» way. The thing is that this isn’t the bad part. The bad part is the food. It’s terrible. Period. My yam fries were soggy and my friend’s burger was dry. I just really don’t know how to type this I feel kind of weird being so crabby but there it is. The redeeming qualities are the location, lots of TVs if you like sports, and the patio, while small, is just about the best in the city.

I’ve gone to the Bayside many times over the years, but somehow I’ve never stopped at the Denman Taphouse/Soho Bar and Grill. I went here last night with a large group for the wings Thursday special. I cannot comment on the food since I decided to skip out and have an all liquid dinner(How very brilliant… NOT) instead. The décor is ok, but I feel like something is missing. I cannot put my finger on it precisely, but it just seems off. The service was horribly slow and sometimes non existent for long periods of time which was not good. The drinks are pretty standard, but this place just strikes me as a generic sports bar which is generally only good to seriously imbibe or catch Canucks games.

We came here on a Friday night for drinks for a birthday celebration which started at midnight. Hearing that the food was very average, we ate before we came and that seems pretty consistent with the reviews. We ordered drinks at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and helpful. He even orchestrated a midnight shot for the birthday boy. He was helpful in figuring out what everyone would like: not too brown, not too fruity for the boys, and«something that won’t kill the girls.» He did very well indeed. The drinks the rest of the night packed quite the punch and were reasonably priced. It was a nice spot with a great view and had quite a few TVs for the sports fans. It was crowded, but there was still enough space so you weren’t being shoved. The music was okay — either a hit or miss. Overall, we made it a great night. I should disclose that this rating might be inflated as it was compared to the Saturday night fiasco on Granville street.

Used to be the Soho Bar & Grill, recently underwent some much needed renos. Still the same owner and manager. New chef and new menu were HIGHLY dissapointing. The burger buns were cheap sugarly McDonalds like buns, burgers were super dry. Someone at the table ordered the penne, got rigatoni(obv. not fresh, from a box) with yucky sauce that tasted like it was from a can. VERY dissapointing. Eat before you go! Otherwise view is great and drinks are cheap :)
