Awful customer service. Your machines were down and expected us to withdraw money from the ATM with our credit cards, but you wouldn’t cover the 20% cash advance fee we would get charged. One employee even went to lengths to argue with us that credit cards don’t get charged for withdrawing from an ATM and that his girlfriend is an economist and works for the bank so naturally HE should know everything because that’s his expertise… right? Do you see my monthly credit card statements or do I? Who the fuck argues with a customer like that? No drinks were compensated for this inconvenience. I was appalled at the lack of understanding for the basics of customer service. You can’t expect everyone to carry around cash; it’s f#^@ing 2016. When a restaurant inconveniences a customer, you should be trying to make it right, not argue to the point of wanting to call the cops on a customer and act as if the customers inconvenienced you. As someone who has worked in the customer service industry for 10 years, I have never been so mistreated and talked down to. My friend never received their old fashioned that they ordered and was told after 40 minutes of waiting that«our cocktails take a long time to make, but you’re welcome to drink a beer in the meantime» to try to get more money out of you. No apologies were said. I’ve had some damn good cocktails in finer establishments than this one and never in my life did we have to wait at least 40 minutes. I will never be going back to this filthy«establishment» to give you a cent of my money again. I’m normally not one to complain and am usually very understanding having worked in the industry myself, but I think everybody should know what they’re getting into when they step foot in that place. If you get bad customer experience while you’re here, just know that it’s pretty normal for them after having read prior reviews to mine.

The staff here are super attentive. Place was pretty empty in a Sunday night. Also really hot inside. When I first got here, I thought it was closed, but the bar is actually on the 2nd floor. Ordered the Violet Tower, which was just ok. The type of cocktails they have here was kind of basic. Overall, this place is ok.

This place isn’t busy nor is it fun and they won’t let anyone in e en if you have a huge group already in there. I get into clubs in Yaletown easier than this shit hole

Mexican and fun. Came here for a few drinks, tried a little food — great little spot that’s busy and fun in Gastown. As a tourist, i enjoyed it. Not sure how much the locals do. Did anything standout? Not necessarily.

Every time I have friends visiting from out of town I bring them here for the best cocktails in the city. The servers are excellent! The only thing I would say is(as with every bar in Vancouver) it gets pretty busy on Fridays and Saturday nights.

This spot has some of the best cocktails in Vancouver. Friendly service in a low-lit room. If you want to have your choice of amazing drinks, this is the spot to check out.

The best drinks in Gastown. Expensive, but high class, lounge cocktails /drinks. Great place to actually talk with your friends or date. They just added sushi, which I haven’t tried but looks great. The staff here is amazingly cool, great people. Avoid this place on Friday/Saturday nights when its extremely packed and you won’t be disappointed. Definitely a cool spot for«locals» or G town residents during the week.

I’ve come here a few times with various people and neither me nor anyone else I’ve brought have ever been disappointed here! I am talking about solely drinks here as I’ve never had any food at The Diamond — but the drinks, while more on the expensive side, are always On Point! Super alcoholic and super delicious — well worth the price. Great candlelit atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious and alcoholic drinks, and open until late — this place has been at the top of my list for favourite drinking locations since I’ve first been there and has stayed at the top ever since!

This is my number one favourite place for cocktails in Vancouver! The bartenders change the menu frequently and their recipes are unique. It’s always fun to get a window seat and peer down at the goings on in Gastown. I love the vibe– music with interesting beats, dim lighting, hip people, and competent wait staff. I’m not a fan of their food… but i’m not taking any stars off, because I go there either before or after I eat somewhere else :)

Amazing ambience and great location! Right in the heart of gastown. My friend and I decided to check it out last minute on a Friday night. In about minutes, we had the best seats at the bar! Great cocktail menu, music was from the early 2000s which is great brought us back to high school days. I ordered the el nuello and my friend had the California Chrome! So tasty and the bartender also made some spicy cranberry winter drink in a champagne flute which was amazing! All in all, a great atmosphere to relax and feel the weekend setting in :-)

GREAT drinks. Their back room usually has a long wait list, but if you do get in, it’s awesome. They have a fewer selection of drinks on special for a better price than their regular menu. Their regular menu drinks are also pretty damn good. The food is a bit over-priced for the portion.

Was visiting Vancouver and came here for an after-dinner drink on Saturday night. Lively atmosphere with a great view of the square. The bartenders really know what they’re doing here and I had a great Penicillin at the bar. For my next drink, I requested a tad less sweeter whiskey drink and the kind bartender(sorry forgot your name!) whipped up a tasty cocktail, perfect to my taste. I also had the Green Bean Gomae which I wasn’t impressed with… tasted healthy though. Definitely recommend for great cocktails!

Katrina H and I came here on a pleasant Tuesday evening last week and had a lovely experience. I arrived early and was able to snag a window table overlooking the square — perfect for my Vancouver novice guest to get a good peek over the prettiness! We stayed until the fairy lights came on which gave the whole square a magical feel, and by extension the Diamond as well. Our server was very attentive up until the very end when it started getting busier — then we did have to ask a couple of times for our bill. Not a big deal, though. We ordered a couple of cocktails and they were both great — I started with a Greenwich Sour, which was good if a little sweeter than I’m used to, and followed that up with a Margarita, which was a little less strong than I make them(but I make them STRONG!) Both were good, and Katrina liked her choices too. We ordered guacamole as a snack before dinner, and it was quite good. I found it a little over-limed so my mouth was a bit sore by the end! The nice thing was that our server brought us over another bowl of chips when ours was done so we could actually finish the guac — very considerate! The space is gorgeous, cosy, and chic, and the music made it feel like a hip(hop) lounge. It was super chill while we were there, but more people were arriving as we left and I could see it getting pretty fun and rowdy on a busy night. On a pedantic note, I’m really glad they replaced their grammatically incorrect neon sign on the way out — thank you! The Diamond is a great spot to come and get a cocktail and a snack, and is somewhere that will always be in my repertoire.

A fancy, yet unpretentious atmosphere. If you’re into that, read on. Their cocktails are superb. Not a booze aficionado, so it’s no surprise that most of the liquor mentioned in their menu were unfamiliar to me, but I’m adventurous. The cocktails I ended up trying throughout the night were great– no wonder I got tipsy. Now food. Their guacamole is so fresh and so good and they’ll refill your chips for free. Charcuterie board was delicious, and shareable between 4 people easily, but there weren’t enough gerkins. Truly a great place for drinks before and after the party.

The Diamond, yes it is a must. Why? If you are looking for a place in Vancouver to have quality cocktails and a great crowd, this is the place. I quite enjoy my beer however, sometimes I like to keep it classy/girly and have a pink cocktail or two served in a fancy martini glass… First, I had a beer because it’s me. I had their Alhambra Lager which I enjoy because I used to drink it a lot in Spain. So I guess, more of an emotional attachment to the beer but still very good. Then, I tried their mojito which finished rather quickly because it was delicious! Later, I had The Gastown cocktail which again was great. Then, I was tipsy! Job well done. I recommend The Diamond to anyone that wants a nice place to have a few cocktails. Oh, the service is excellent.

The last stop on my night in Vancouver, The Diamond was a great bar, a short walk upstairs. We were seated immediately, but then again, it was around 12:30AM and it was one of the few bars open late. We finished the night off with a couple of Manhattans. The chips and guacamole were an excellent compliment to the cocktails, but we were both stuffed. Service was excellent and the prices for cocktails were a little better than the other spots in Vancouver. I did enjoy the Gastown area and am looking forward to trying more of the food and drink menu here.

I’m not a cocktail guy, but my friend wanted to go. so why not. live life dangerously I ordered a Tom Collins, and Smokey Rusty Nail Both were good. I was very impressed. The rusty nail tasted like a campfire, and the Tom Collins was refreshing

Limited happy hour option I was only there for their happy hour, therefore I cannot comment on their regular menu. The happy hour option was literarily just one drink… It tasted good, but given the completion around that area, I would like to see the diamond up their game

Service is friendly and welcoming and the second floor view is great! However, for a place that touts its ability to serve some amazing cocktails I am surprised that The Diamond doesn’t have a better happy hour menu for people to try their delicious drinks. For $ 9 you get a choice of one feature cocktail, that’s it. While it was tasty, The Diamond really needs to up its game to compete against some of the other great places that are just around the corner.
