Cool authentic old diner complete with a big jukebox and individual booth jukeboxes. Round stools line the counter and they have old fashioned milkshake machine — all my favourite features in a diner. The bf and I had breakfast. I had a 3 egg breakfast which came with 4! pieces of perfectly cooked bacon, rosemary potatoes and sourdough toast. My boyfriend had eggs benny and a fruit salad. The portion sizes were great, we left with full bellies and not a big dent in our pocketbooks. It’s on the busy street of Granville, and while the place was full, there wasn’t a long lineup.

Tried a stake here, and I would not say that it was really good. Not a 5 star place for me.

Great spot for BK, nice spot for lunch. Great atmosphere. Staff is really nice. The food is good. BK is very well priced, lunch is a bit on the high side but that shouldn’t discourage you. Great joint.

Very good breakfast place, nice ambiance and friendly staff. Food is good and very cheap. I ordered the«Truckers Breakfast» and a freshly squeezed lemonade and they were really good. The bacon is very well done and tasty, it’s not dry or burnt. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to eat breakfast around the financial district of Vancouver.

We ordered the New Denver Omelette and Big Ass Breakfast. Both plates were really good except that the pancakes that came with the Big Ass Breakfast was burned I think. The toast that came with the breakfast was really good. My boyfriend and I kept wondering why it was so good if it was just bread with butter. The coffee was not as good as expected. It was very bland tasting. Apart from the pancakes and the coffee, everything was good.

Lovely atmosphere, delicious food, friendly servers :). The servings are huge as well, so come with an appetite! I got their BBB Burger($ 15) with mashed potatoes — the meal was one of the better burgers I’ve had and their potatoes were spot on(albeit without gravy — if it came with that it would’ve been perfect!). My friend got the fish and chips and he said it was really good as well! All in all, it was a good experience and I will definitely be coming back and recommending it to others!

I went already a couple of times and the breakfast is pretty good. But the last time we went the service was terrible! Our server was so rude! I never got treated so poorly. We felt so uncomfortable that we got up and left. I usually never leave any bad reviews on Unilocal but this time I really have too. So many people go to this place because it’s suppose to be a fun experience and even I have send so many people here because of the great breakfast. Not anymore! Super disappointed! Note: talked to my friends out of town: same experience. Good food, terrible service!

Food was good but service was terrible. The two waitresses there acted entitled and treated us like not as customers to serve but as more like a burden. Quite rude.

My boyfriend and I came here for brunch on Saturday while visiting Vancouver, we were told that there was going to be about an hour wait so we walked around and got some coffee and then came back and it was still about 30 minutes to wait. We came here because Unilocalers had reviewed it as a decent vegetarian/Vegan option I ordered the tofu scramble and my boyfriend ordered the portobello mushroom burger they were both incredibly underwhelming my scramble tasted more like a bland curry, and the burger was the best part but definitely not worth 30 minute wait to be seated and a 30 minute wait for the food we were so disappointed although I could tell the staff was doing the best they could to keep the food rolling out. I just wish the food tasted better and the wait wasn’t as long.

I wanted a snack after a Hockey game in Vancouver and found this place. I tried their Famous $ 6 milk shake. The milk shake was probably one of the thickest milk shakes I’ve ever had. To accompany the milk shake I ordered the deep fried mars bar. Which was tasty and presented well on the plate, but I just wasn’t fully satisfied with it. It wasn’t as busy as I’ve seen this place before. Service was quick and friendly.

Quick and easy but super patient! These guys were banging out orders left to right! Really cool to see the waitress so attentive to detail and check on us multiple times. I think she was the only waitress in the entire establishment. Perfect for breakfast but they also serve up a delicious cheeseburger! No complaints and we will definitely be coming back here

A yummy 3.5 stars. Been eyeing this place for awhile, gotta love these diners but it’s not a dive. Clean, music playing in background. Anyways ordered their banana split with all the works; not big on the strawberry but chocolate & candy bar ice cream great. Easy repeat. also breakfast served til 3pm.

First Impression: Visited on a Sunday, breakfast. Let me preface by saying that I constantly go to diners and I love breakfast food. The place was full except for some seats at the«bar» Service: Pleasant. We were offered some seats at the«bar» immediately and then a booth opened up so we were immediately moved there. The server was there and definitely present, asking us if everything was okay and on top of everything. Atmosphere: This place is like walking into a time machine(disregarding waitresses who look like quite hip and modern people). Nearly everything has been left how it would have been in the 50s/60s. Gives it a lot of character and allows for some leeway with minor nuances, like the short stools at the«bar». Music was playing, nothing to note other than it was not overwhelming, nice calm breakfast vibes. Feels like your typical diner, and it is obviously popular as people were waiting for booths throughout the time we were eating. Food: I had the«Big Ass Breakfast»(3 eggs, turkey sausage or bacon or veggie bacon, cinnamon raisin french toast or blueberry banana pancakes, rosemary potatoes and toast) I went with the veggie bacon, french toast and some sourdough toast. Veggie bacon, something I have never had, I’m indifferent, it’s like a veggie hot dog, not the real thing but it’s okay and I can eat it. I do not like raisins, I still devoured the french toast like no other, very nice. Perfect sunny-side up eggs, complimented by the potatoes. Last but not least, the toast, buttered to perfection, it came pre-buttered which I thought was awesome(they have peanut butter and jam as well). I like a lot of food, I hate leaving somewhere still hungry for more food, this was the perfect amount for me. I didn’t feel I needed to take a nap nor eat any more. Drinks: Ordered Oso Negro(locally roasted in BC) fair trade coffee, it was pretty good coffee. Also, a free refill! How nice. I noticed they also serve beer, although I wasn’t in the mood for an early beezy. Restrooms: I didn’t really have to go, so I didn’t use it. No comment there. Overall: Great breakfast, seems to get busy, luckily we came a little earlier for a Sunday(around 9:45am). Reasonably priced, good service with things that are not just your average breakfast diner fare. This is somewhere I would come back to. Tip: If you’re hungry, order the«Big Ass Breakfast»! If you’re vegetarian, look at the the veggie options.

I really wasn’t a fan. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing. I got the Farmer’s Breakfast. The scrambled eggs were mega-greasy, and very very eggy. The salsa was bland, as was everything else. The service was great, however.

Tiny hipster dive diner, no doubt a staple on Granville with their epic milkshakes, 24⁄7 breakfast menu and vegetarian-friendly fare. Type of place that has Prince and Creedence Clearwater Revival on the 50’s juke box. With crippling appetites, we waited a half-hour on Sunday for brunch around noon. Many folks gathered in the tiny window area to anxiously wait for their names to be called. Once seated, I noticed the service is a tad slow for food but I quickly felt bad as there are only five people staffing the entire estate including the kitchen. Our server was very good with refilling coffee while we waited for our orders, which ended up being around 35 mins. Menu is chalked full of veggie alternatives for bacon and sausage, as well as a scrambled tofu(savory, yeasty) to substitute for non egg-enthusiasts. I went for the vegan lentil loaf, an odd choice for breakfast, but delicious with mushroom rosemary gravy and house rosemary potatoes. My boyfriend went with the vegan huevos rancheros, which ended up being more like a big breakfast taco with no avocado. Overall, I would say the place deserves a 3.5, as we were satisfied but ended up spending quite a big chunk of our Sunday waiting. I’m sure we will be back but maybe a time when it is a little less busy!

A friend of mine texted me this morning asking me what I was doing this morning. I said I had no plans so he offered to come downtown so that we could have breakfast and do some pre-Black Friday shopping! My first choice was to try the Twisted Fork on Granville. It was around 11 am so I thought it won’t be busy. I was wrong! It was super busy at the Twisted Fork! The line up was pretty much out the door. My friend and I are not waiters so we headed down the street and ran into the Templeton. I like the Templeton. It’s got the look and feel of an old time diner. Too bad I didn’t take some interior pictures! Anyways, the Templeton wasn’t too busy. My friend and I sat at the counter on bar stools. We both ended up ordering the Trucker’s breakfast… 3 eggs, 2 turkey sausages, hash browns and toast. Overall, thumbs up! I have to admit it would be difficult to screw up breakfast! Hahaha! The only slight negative comment I have is that there was only 1 waitress for the whole restaurant. She was pretty much hopping all day long! I still want to try out the Twisted Fork, but I would not be hesitant to come back to The Templeton! P. S. I bought a t shirt and a sweater at A&F… 50% off!!!

What a beautiful relic! I’ve been coming to the Templeton for years, and I’m such a fan of its completely relaxed atmosphere. My last visit was after Happy Hour down the street, and we had a hunger brewing! I would love to tell you everything I ate, but honestly I have no idea… All I remember is being swallowed into a vat of garlic mashed potatoes, and I have no regrets! The beer is good, the food is great, and the service is always swift and helpful — and hella laid back! Don’t expect peppy, prissy servers in tight clothes trying to get more tips — these are super chill folks who are happy to help and always have suggestions, but they treat you like you’re a regular, not like you’re a god, and I LOVEIT! The Templeton feels like a neighbourhood diner that you’ve been coming to your entire life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I hate 1 star posts because I always swear you can find something redeemable. I went with 2 stars because the food is effing delicious… JUSTORDERTOGO!!! Omg– I’m uncertain as to exactly how our existence has perturbed the server this much, but f**king hell… Either she hates us or she’s just a terrible person to have in any type of hospitality service. She even yelled at us from across the restaurant at one point when we moved from the bar to a finally opened booth!!! I meeeeean!?? I thought I was being dramatic but then… Oh god… Wait for it… I did the worst, most unheard of, most atrocious thing I could have ever done… Are you ready for this… Can’t believe I’m even admitting this… I ASKEDFORBUTTER(to go on my pancakes). I know, I know. I’m completely evil!!! I could tell by the way her eyes bore through me upon my request. When she finally did return with the butter she made sure to slam it down and keep walking to let me know just what a little inconvenience I was. If you do go… Because the food is yummy and the place is actually quite charming… My advice? APOLOGIZEFORBREATHINGAND… Never. EVER. ASKFORBUTTER!!!

Came here for brunch over the weekend around 1pm and they were packed. It was about a 20 minute wait for 2 people. Menus are available on top of the jukeboxe in the booths s for quick access and service is friendly. It took a while for our food to arrive. We shared the smoked salmon eggs Benny and the vegetarian lasagna. The winner was the vegetarian lasagna although I was expecting the portion to be a bit bigger considering the price. It came out piping hot, loaded with feta cheese, and great flavour. It came with a nice little side spring mix salad with vinaigrette dressing. The smoked salmon eggs Benny was ok — the eggs were perfectly poached(lots of runny, ooey yolk — yum!). The hollandaise’s consistency was nice(not too thick) but needed seasoning. The side of potatoes were a bit stale. The décor is 60’s diner-style with personal jukeboxes at each booth. I’m not sure if they actually function though because we put a quarter in and selected a song but I don’t think our song ever came on! Food is average and portions could be a little bit more considerate for the price. I’m guessing it’s so busy here due to the popular Granville location. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return for their brunch again but maybe come back to try their milkshakes and burgers some time.

The service at the Templeton was great! The wait was loooong! We waited for 2.5 hours to be seated! Not my idea of how I prefer to spend my time! I ordered scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, chicken sausage, roasted potatoes, blueberry pancakes, and hot chocolate. The presentation of my breakfast was nice but it was bland and lacked flavor. It could use more seasoning.
