Decent basic Thai. I found their pad Thai a bit too sweet, standard North American style. There were no condiments on the table, but on request they provided fish sauce with birdseye chilies, which went a long way towards balancing the flavours. Green papaya salad was good.

This place is a little pricier than nearby thai eateries. but it’s more of a sit down restaurant I ordered the Pad Krapow with a side of rice. which was very tasty My friend ordered the Thai fried rice, but liked mine better! Anyway, authentic thai. good experience. recommend

I’m somewhat torn with this review. I would like to give 3.5 stars. I have no real complaints per se other than me being picky. The service was friendly, the place clean and the food tasty, but not stellar… and, crucially, not as ‘Thai’ as I would like. Overall, I suspect they are being too cautious with Canadians, choosing to err on the side of sweet with their dishes(or at least the dishes we tried). The Kra Pao Gai was ok, but certainly not spicy, despite confirming that yes I would like it spicy. Kee Mao noodles were similarly sweet and perhaps a little oily, but hey, iit would be perfect for soaking up some booze. What this restaurant needs is the standard Thai accompaniments found in most restaurants in Thailand(fish sauce, sugar, etc.)…the most important of which, the vinegar with chili. Perhaps more for Thai virgins

Good food and very helpful staff. I had the soup and garlic prawns with rice — all gluten free! Soup was good but the garlic prawns were great. Prawns were served with broccoli and carrots and I ordered rice on the side. Really tasty dish and it was great to find good gluten free and msg free food and a great price.

Was there on Monday night, small place with approx 12 small table, pretty quiet night, the waitress greeted us upon we walked in, very friendly waitress. We ordered the Thai beers, papaya salad, DongYum Soup with prawn, green curry with chicken, one bowl of coconut rice and noodles. Firstly, the beers is light, pretty good smell of wheat, nice beers. Good one to order. Then Papaya salad, way too sour and the papaya is too hard to eat, not recommend. Next is DongYum Soup, I would give 2 stars as the soup base is too salty. Green Curry, one of the best for the night, perfect taste of curry and the chicken is tender, perfect with coconut rice. Last is the noodle, we end up has to return the noodle as the noodle is not fresh at all. The waitress was willing to cancel the order for us. I would try some other Thai restaurant next time as I was a bit disappointed this time, even the waitress is quite friendly, the bill automatically added 15% service charge on top of the bill which is fine because of the friendly waitress, however, they should really think about changing the chef as other Thai place offer much better quality food near by.

Good food but smells like a litter box. A clean litter box! And I use the wheat-based litter. Had the fish cakes. Never had them before anywhere. Consistency of eggs and tofu and bland but the sauce was sweet and crunchy and good. Tom Yum soup was tasty. Green Curry extra spicy awesome. Our waitress recommended it. Pad Gra Pao had nice crispy veggies and tasty sauce. Also got extra spicy. My husband had a sweaty nose by the end of dinner. His name is Tom. Now it’s Tom Yum.

Thida Thai restaurant has been around for a few years. I’ve been there twice and both times have been disappointed. We ordered chicken and beef specials. The chicken stew had almost no chicken in it. The ginger beef was pretty good. What really got me was the service. We never got checked on, our dishes were dirty and the bathroom looked like it wasn’t cleaned in a while. Will not be going back.

I went to this place on a casual Saturday night. This place is located on Davie and it’s pretty much the ideal cheap cuisine. I had the dinner special, Green curry, salad, rice and a spring roll. Everything tasted great and I would go back for other dishes in the cold winter days.

This restaurant is Classically Thai. Relaxed atmosphere with traditional Thai ambiance. It is clean and the servers are happy, great food presentation and good portions. This place is pretty small so it’s easy to walk pass it, but if you are in this neighborhood. You should pop by.

I wanted to like this place. Décor was nice. I even thought the china was pretty. But the food was way too bland. I am a one-star kind of person, two-star if I’m feeling adventurous, but even so I like flavor. My daughter’s chicken pad thai had no taste to it whatsoever, and contained maybe 3 pieces of chicken, which was far outnumbered by the tofu. I had the swimming rama. They didn’t snap the long stringy ends off the spinach. It also came with broccoli, which wasn’t that odd, I just hadn’t had that combination before. The peanut sauce was … meh.

The history of the drunken noodles(the dish) is that it’s something Thai people order or make at home to cure themselves from a night out and heavy drinking. It’s supposed to be simply noodles and whatever else you can find in the fridge, and to be spicy. It’s usually very tasty and unique, esp when they use cherry tomatoes, fresh thai basil and peppers. Well, ordered some drunken noodles at thida thai. the dish was put well together, but missed the freshness(not to mention there’s no tomatoes on sight). It’s tasty, but you can do a better one at home — which shouldnt be the case, ever! Not happy, but will certainly try their other dishes.

The Worst Thai! So bad in fact when I told the waitress the table next to me gave me two thumbs up! It is also the worst customer service, the waitress took our order and dropped the crappy food never to return! Save your money Go elsewhere!

Depends what you’re looking for; it’s a nicer décor/atmosphere if you’re looking for a sit-in feel, but I prefer Mango Thai, which is across the street, albeit, a bit more casual but more natural light. Plus the taste is better, easy for me to compare with green curry, that’s all I eat lol. Date worthy here, an iffy, good enough décor to pass, brown theme everywhere. Street meter parking. Not much parking, no delivery.

OK, this used to be our fave and I’ll leave the original review below but last time we went there weirdly every single thing we ordered was bland and tasteless. Very shocking. We haven’t been back since so maybe the chefs changed. Who knows? Would like to see what others think? _____________________________________________ Hands down my fave restaurant in Vancouver. Love the Yam Woon Sen(glass noddles) or Yam Pla-Muek(squid) salads and the Tod Man Pla(fish cakes) are to die for. Anything on this menu is good so order away. Run by actual Thais so you know you’re getting the real stuff. Staff is super super friendly.

On a rainy cold Vancouver night tried this place as a friend had recommended it. It’s quite small but cute, the décor is not really Thai but I was there for food and not ambience. Our server was nice but changed through the meal which I always find odd, as you are not sure what you are tipping for. We started off with Spring Rolls which as always are delicious, and were more on the greasy side at this place. For main I gave the Red Chicken Curry with Rice a try. The portion sizes are quite small and had it not been for the beer I would’ve left not entirely satisfied. Overall this food is good but in a city with such amazing options, I doubt that I’ll be back any time soon.

Sometimes you’re better off dead There’s gun in your hand and it’s pointing at your head You think you’re mad, too unstable Kicking in chairs and knocking down tables We arrived in Vancouver and by the time we got through customs, found and figured out the Skytram, found the bus stop(with the help of a Vancouverian, walked one block to find the hotel, and unpacked, it was almost 6 pm. We then walked down Davie Street to find somewhere to eat. I didn’t check Unilocal,so we had no clue what was good, but one rule, look for places that had a lot of people. Most of those places were packed, so as we walked back on the other side of the street, we came upon Thida. In a restaurant in a West End town Call the police, there’s a madman around Running down underground to a dive bar In a West End town By this time, I was starving and punchy, and it had been a long time since we’ve had Thai food, so we went in. The interior looks bigger because of the long mirror on one side. Even though the weather was perfect, they had the AC on and it felt great. There were several tables already eating and they appeared to be enjoying their meals. Always a good sign. Too many shadows, whispering voices Faces on posters, too many choices If, when, why, what? How much have you got? Have you got it, do you get it, if so, how often? And which do you choose, a hard or soft option? (How much do you need?) We ordered the usual, panang curry and spicy drunken noodles, both at medium heat, and rice. Two Singhas and we were set. Apparently, steamed rice is extra. Which is okay. I guess in the states we’re pretty spoiled. The panang was delicious! So much so, we will probably be back for it and to try some of the other dishes. The drunken noodles were good as well, but the panang was the real winner. In a West End town, a dead end world The East End boys and West End girls Oooh West End town, a dead end world East End boys, West End Girls West End girls Our server was very friendly and so sweet! Checked back with us a couple of times, and was so apologetic when she gave us the wrong check, The other workers seemed a little too serious. Good ambiance and a great location in the West End. (We ate here three times during our week stay in Vancouver)

Coming from SE Asia, I’m not doing back flips for this place. Especially when there are so many other Thai food places in Downtown Vancouver! I found the serving portions at this place stingy; and the prices too high for the value and quality of food. Don’t get me wrong: the food isn’t horrible… Just not great either(for the price that you pay). I only tried this place upon a friend’s request that day. Won’t see me coming in here again.

Ok, Where do I start with this Gem of a Thai restaurant… I have been there 3 times now and have been very impressed with each dish I have tried… I am surprised that every time I walk in for the evening/weekend dining hour I am met with a lack of customers. The place is a bit empty. A bit disconserting. but non the less amazing food! The servers are very friendly and have a good grasp of the menu and the ingredients. Décor is nice, a bit dark but still quite nice. I always order the Prawn Pad Thai and Pad Cashew Nut… I know what you’re thinking and I know. very typical white interpretation of Thai food. Just hear me out… The pad thai has amazing flavor, texture and aroma. YOUMUSTASKFORTHEPADTHAIWITHTAMARIND!!! They usually use ketchup because as the server explained… People don’t like tamarind and prefer ketchup… I am in shock!!! Ketchuppy Pad thai. no thanks! An amazing dish. always a favorite! The Pad Cashew nut… Geeze. it has an amazing basil, sweet undertone that bring the crispy vegetables to life… Just awesome. A sweet tangy winner! You must try I have also ordered the Yellow Chicken Curry and CHicken Satay sticks. Both dishes are winners in my book! The curry is rich and very hearty, the satay sticks are juicy and full of penut buttery satay goodness lol! One miss at this restaurant is the Papaya salad… A bit soggy, lack of boom chicka wow wow… just made me sad… Still on search for the best papaya salad around town. sigh :( My take from Thida Thai… GOTHERE!!! Definately worth it!!!

Solid thai food in funky thai inspired surroundings. We had the Tom Yum Soup, Pad See-Iew with beef and the Massaman Curry with chicken — we were very happy with our choices, we found the flavours to be fantastic. The noodles in the Pad See-Iew were overcooked in our opinion, but the flavours and amount vegetables still made it an excellent dish that we would order again without hesitation. The service was relatively stand off-ish but they got the job done, and were available when we needed them. We found the curry portion on the small side, but so was the price compared to other places. Recommended and will go back.

It really is hard to find a good Thai place around the city. With that said, this place may be my new benchmark. Parking is virtually non-existent here. You may want to walk. The staff are actually Thai, and are prompt. Excellent. The inside is decorated with many pictures of Buddha and elephants. It’s a bit on the tacky side(looks like mid 90s) but the ambience is nice. Their soup is freaking good. I’m not sure about the authenticity(I don’t remember having mushrooms in my soup in Thailand) but they had just the right mixture of sweet /sour /saltiness /spiciness. omg. I cannot praise the soup enough. Yes it is pricey at $ 10+ per bowl(large), but split among your friends, this stuff is crack. I also had a chance to try the red curry with rice. The rice is $ 1.95 on top of your dish. This is nickel-and-diming in my opinion, which is why I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars. I’m sure no reasonable person would eat an entire bowl of pure gravy and not go away hungry. But the quality of the food was again, excellent. Just the right mixture of spices. Highly recommended.
