Following the Unilocal reviews about this place, we tried it. The café is cosy even if it misses light in the back. We ordered the buckwheat pancakes & breakfast special. Pancakes were too thick and dry with nothing appealing on the side like a nice applesauce or jam. just a little salad, over cooked bacon and 4 blueberries fighting on the plate with burned potatoes. breakfast special was everything u can make at home… coffee is average. The waitress didn’t look after us properly, forgetting this and that even if there were not too many people to serve. I don’t recommend if u are looking for a nice different breakfast place.

So here is what I thought when I lunched here today: The store was cute and comfortable — it looked like a Parisian café. I looked at the prices which looked pretty decent and I ordered a meat panini that came with a cream onion soup. While waiting for my food, which actually took a while considering what I ordered, my eyes started watering. My eyes were hurting and my guess was because of the smoke that was in the air in the café. I could barely keep my eyes open, and I definitely looked like I was crying. I almost had to step outside, it was that bad. Thankfully my food came, and good thing the food wasn’t bad. But because smoke was still in my eyes, I could barely concentrate on my food. Also I would like to mention the waiter forgot to give me water. Anyway, I got out as fast as I could. Overall, I thought the food was good, but they better fix their fan before I go back again!!!

Ever since my beloved breakfast spot Café Katzenjammer shut down last summer, I’ve been wishing for something to replace it in Point Grey, and this is it. The attention to food quality is more than you’d expect from a «café». I’m a breakfast junkie and the all day breakfast special for $ 8.50 is a tremendous value. The sausages are not just those little Jimmy Dean sausages you get at other breakfast places, but actually quality Italian sausage and Weisswurst. If they’re not homemade, then they are pretty darned close. The service is beyond what’s expected. They wait on you hand and foot, always get your order perfect, remember what you ordered when you come in a week later, slip you the occasional treat for free, and address you by name. It also has a nice relaxed vibe to the place, and it’s never full of screaming children like other cafes in Point Grey and Kits. It’s also very clean. If you haven’t tried this place yet, you must give it a shot because Point Grey needs more places like this.

Great new addition to the neighbourhood. The organic pancakes are the best I’ve tried in the city and the side of potatoes is a revelation. I find myself making my way here every week for brunch /breakfast. Give it a go.

Great improvement on the previous restaurant that occupied this space. Fresh, well-spiced food and very kind staff. Will return.

Cool little hole in the wall. French cuisine that is affordable and mouth watering. I like their lunch menu a little better than their dinner but everything is to die for. A definite must try!
