It’s pretty different from your normal puddings since it’s made from vegan ingredients. The texture and taste was quite different as well. I personally, thought it was quite unique and very delicious. It’s quite small for what you’re paying for, but I honestly think it’s worth it. As for the flavor, it was quite strong. In a good sense. The service here also very friendly and welcoming. Nevertheless, everything here was great!

Cute stand in Vancouver that is convenient for a quick take-and-go snack. I got the Earl Grey crème brûlée and my husband got the vanilla crème brûlée, though I honestly didn’t want to choose just one pudding! I’m not vegan myself, but I love vegan treats, so I’m familiar with the general taste and textures of sweets that are made sans dairy. This, I think, gives me a better idea of what to expect. The puddings have a nice flavour and are a lot less sweet than normal crème brulees. The caramelised maple sugar(or is it syrup?) is a little twist, but probably doesn’t compare to the decadence of caramelised sugar! But it definitely tastes healthier. The texture is a bit more grainy, but the flavour is good. Only complaint is the aftertaste, which left a strange sensation in the mouth. That said, if you’re looking for a light snack that is refreshing and can satisfy your sweet tooth, check this stand out!

Upgraded to 5 stars. Today I tried black sesame pudding and it was very good. I don’t like 90% of the desserts in North America, but this is perfect for my Japanese standards. Love! Thanks to the owner for recommending me the matcha and black sesame as a less sweet option– it is perfect, please don’t change it.

Personally I really enjoyed their products. I got the medium pudding in earl grey with the lemon caramel sauce, as well as their crème brûlée. You can taste the coconut in their pudding products but it’s definitely not the prominent flavour. The earl grey was absolutely decandant, earthy, and simply amazing. The lemon caramel sauce oddly worked wonderfully with the early grey combination. The crème brûlée was also quite nice but I enjoyed the medium pudding more only because the flavour profile was more exciting. I highly recommend!

Sampled this at whole foods and immediately had to buy one. Amazing! I think I asked a couple of times if they were sure it didn’t have eggs or milk. So smooth and tasty. I had the vanilla with caramel sauce and can’t wait for my next trip to Vancouver to try this amazing vegan treat! My son, who has no issues with dairy, thought it was better than any pudding he had ever had. Not only for the vegan — don’t let the vegan label turn you off. Try this yummy treat before assuming you won’t like it.

This a small place, very easy to miss. It is actually a window :) But the Vegan pudding are mouth watering, we bought Strawberry pudding with Chocolate sauce, it was very good. You have options like small pudding only, medium pudding with special sauce and crème Brulee with different flavors.

When Sweet tooth meet sweet pudding. That mean WHAMMY! Yes it’s pretty sweet but it’s perfectly sweet. Like a hole in the wall. I didn’t noticed this place before. I was walking by with my vegan friend. What a good timing! We was looking for a sweet treat. For less than 4.00 token you get a small size. Flawless customer service. And vegan pudding made with love. I also like the branding and light yellow touch of color. YES! I will come back that’s for sure. And will grab a medium size next time!

The most impressive thing is their packaging. All compostable and functional! Little plastic cups with pudding on the bottom, a separated top section containing the sauce which all fits neatly under one lid. You can dip or pour it to your own taste. Yummy sounding flavours and sauces with a Japanese edge, but all I could taste was the lingering coconut aftertaste that just screams vegan. I had the matcha with black sesame sauce and Earl Grey with lemon sauce. At first bite, you can taste the matcha and Earl grey but after that… its all coconut. The sauces help, it wouldn’t be enjoyable without. Smooth, pleasant texture though. Take out window, only.

I tried the chocolate with chocolate sauce and it was different but good. Price was $ 4.75 with sauce. Love that it’s made with organic kabocha squash. The owner/chef was pleasant. If in the neighborhood again I would probably stop by and get another.

Best vegan pudding. A must stop for vegans visiting Vancouver. I stopped by 3 times. The non-vegans in the group also approved.

I can taste the coconut sugar in the pudding. No wonder the texture of the pudding is smooth and creamy like cream mousse because they are made with squash. I tried the matcha, hojicha, and black sesame. Their pudding taste naturally sweet and healthy, but the flavours can be stronger. Service is okay. I would go back if they have new flavors of pudding.

WHAT A LOVELYTREAT! We stumbled upon the vegan pudding shop about 15 mins before closing time. The shop could easily be missed since it’s just a take-out window. We were so happy we stopped by. The owner was so nice and kind and the pudding was divine. He offered us some free samples and we ended up with two large puddings– vanilla and earl grey. The large puddings come with special sauce and whip cream which is all highly recommended! It was great to find a vegan treat while walking the streets of Vancouver, but especially nice to find a really delicious one. Recommended for vegans and non-vegans alike!

I know this is a pudding place, but their squash crackers are the best of their kind: dehydrated, vegan and gluten-free. They have a multitude of seeds and a refreshingly unusual flavour that ends with a kick of heat. At only $ 2.85 a pop they are well worth trying and make for a tasty, nutritious, and deceptively filling snack that would be a perfect base for all sorts of creamy delights. Although, I enjoyed them just on their own. It’s convenient that they’re available in a snack pack rather than buying a larger pack of the dryer, less tasty options for upwards of $ 11 at places like Whole Foods/raw restaurants. As for the puddings, they’re all good: 3.75−4÷5. The base is made from coconut and squash and sweetened with coconut sugar and maple syrup. They’re perfectly packaged with the sauce on top in a separate container insert so you can dip/pour in as much or little as you like to sweeten to taste. I sampled each flavour: Chocolate, Earl Grey, Vanilla, Strawberry, Matcha Green Tea, and Black Sesame. Original(Vanilla) with Caramel Sauce(tastes a bit like a much lighter Butterscotch Pudding) and Chocolate are my favorites. I highly recommend trying them with the accompanying sauces. I tried without and the taste wasn’t right. So I agree with a previous review that the pricing model should change to include the sauces rather than offering them without. These need to be enjoyed as they were conceived.

I initially saw reviews for this cute place on Unilocal. It’s a very small, walk up location, but that works. I got the chocolate vegan pudding with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. This is very good. The actual pudding is not too sweet, so if you want additional sweetness I suggest the sauce and whipped cream. All of the condiments are made with some part of coconut. No milk, or gluten just vegan goodness. There are a few flavours to choose from; chocolate, coconut, strawberry, green tea matcha, earl grey and vanilla. Why only 4 stars and not 5 is because I don’t agree with the upward price difference in terms of pudding with no sauce, compared to sauce editions, and whipped cream. It’s over $ 1 more for each addition. But the coolest thing about this place is that their containers are biodegradable. I do recommend visiting and supporting home made business like this I know I’m going back. I bought a vanilla caramel for me too, that’s for after dinner.

Add 2 stars if you are Vegan. You may remember my post on Soft Peaks and how to properly evaluate what you get for the price you pay. Vegan Pudding & Co. is going to be another of those posts. If you are not vegan, there is not much reason to go. Price for portion is absolutely atrocious. Yeah, it’s organic. But you get how much? A half cup for $ 4 after tax? (And by the way, thanks ever so much for using plastic containers that remind me of urine sample containers at BC Biomedical Laboratories). BUT… If you are vegan, beggars can’t be choosers. Does Vegan Pudding & Co. have a tasty product? Yes. Can you get more donut at Cartems Donuterie for your money. Yes. But you wanted dessert and you insisted on what omnivores can have but you cannot. So cough up $ 4. At least you won’t be disappointed. I got to try Vanilla(weak flavour), Strawberry(decently clear flavour but watery), and Matcha(interesting flavour! — try this). TIP: If you see their foldable cardboard spoons, ask for those instead of a plastic spoon. Much friendlier environmentally, and cost-wise to the vendor.

Just happened to walk by this tiny take-out shop recently and ended up talking to the very pleasant owner(who told us his wife makes all of the product). Bought 3 different kinds of pudding: Vanilla, Chocolate and Matcha(green tea) to go, and I am happy to report they were all absolutely delicious! Since they last a week refrigerated, we were able to enjoy the 5 containers we bought over time, and also share them with some friends who came over for dinner. Our friends were equally impressed with how creamy, flavorful and yet not too heavy these handmade desserts were. And the fact the puddings are vegan & organic makes them a guilt-free dessert for people with all sorts of allergies and food intolerances. I highly recommend trying Vegan Pudding & Co out. The puddings are a little bit expensive, at $ 5 each, but worth every bite. And as a bonus you get to support small, local, ethical businesses!

I think pudding is the new crème brule? I saw this page advertised on the front page of Unilocal on Feb 25th and booked marked it. Actually it was Simon’s review that pushed me on the edge of actually visiting and reviewing this place. His review was spot on and echoed the same sentiments as I. I had the regular vanilla flavor that had a strong coconut taste. Being vegan they use a coconut base, therefore, if you’re not into the coconut flavor than be warned. The guy at the walk up was really nice and friendly, pudding went down smooth. Price was okay for what you get. Not too sweet. You will want more ’cause it’s just that good.

I love pudding. My fav dessert back when I was a kid were the japanese glico pudding custards in the little plastic containers, so I was hoping for a similar experience. Unfortunately, I think their secret ingredient was just milled rice flour. There was no gelatin(egads, non-vegan ingredient!) so the consistency could be unkindly referred to as yellow, egg custard flavored sludge. It’s quite good though for expensive vegan sludge. The caramel syrup was delicious. And the flavors were spot on for an egg custard without any eggs. I just couldn’t get over the consistency and texture of said sludge. I suppose vegan cuisine must make sacrifices for the greater good of the circle of life. I’m grateful to not be vegan.

I am usually not a fan of desserts but when I do taste something exceptional, I devour without shame or hesitation. Ever since the start of the new year I’ve been on a new diet where I substantially cut down my intake of white flour, processed foods, and SUGAR. Despite my rigorous devotion, I relapse from time to time. I am no saint so I allow myself a cheat day or two. It is during these«hall pass» days that I check out places like the Vegan Pudding & Co. where I cease to resist becoming a serial cheater. I came here after work. I was looking for a shop but instead, I found a window. This place is for to-go only. The Japanese couple greeted me warmly and explained the flavors of the day: original with caramel sauce, Matcha with black sesame sauce, double chocolate with more chocolate sauce, and Earl Grey with lemon sauce. In exchange for $ 5 after tax I got myself a Matcha pudding with black sesame sauce. The texture of the pudding was voluptuously smooth and silky. The flavor of the pudding was light and not too sweet. The best part, personally, was the clean after taste. Unlike pudding and custards made with eggs and diary which can leave a lingering egg-y or dairy taste on the tongue, this vegan pudding is clean. I don’t know what kind of nuts or non-dairy ingredients are used in making the pudding but I feel the«core ingredients» fairly neutral in flavor, allowing the primary flavor ex. Matcha, chocolate, Earl Grey, to shine. The Matcha pudding with black sesame syrup I purchased was delicious. The two flavors balanced each other very well. Guilt-free desserts. I will be back.

A little window in downtown is where I was taken to as someone thought it would be a good idea to have a treat before an upcoming bad movie, so being a little lost as to where this location is, we eventually found it nicely tucked into a building, no walking space. this is a window. that is all it is with two friendly Japanese, and a display case showing 3 flavours! Hard choices, so much to choose… oh. hmmm what should we have, well on this day all that was there was a double chocolate(nope…), Earl Grey with lemon sauce(maybe…) and Matcha with black sesame sauce(maybe as well…), decisions, decisions… we eventually went with the green, I think it’s the Asian in us that went to that default, and the pleasant gentleman(which was probably the owner) took it out of the display case and helped us by opening it up, and instead of just opening the sauce, he went for the tube that fills the little sauce portions up, and poured it for us, to limit waste(kudos to you!). The size of these little morsels of sweeteness are about the size of a JELL-O pudding cup(now don’t go thinking of Bill Cosby’s sweet voice now) these will not haunt you too much, but they may torment you on coming back like the ghost of Christmas past. What was my experience, while practically standing in the cold in front of a filming crew wanting to know what it tasted like… it was surprisingly smooth, and I had to wonder if I was lucky with the first bite as usually something that is sweet, you would get some sugar type residue, if not some crystalization, but my tongue was pressing along the walls of my mouth, and nothing but pure bliss, disappearing like air after having each little bite. I really wasn’t expecting this, no lingering heavy over-sweet effects, just a light treat where I was thinking… maybe I should have another, yet why mess with diminishing returns… and just remember, how odd as this may sound, they are gluten free, and organic… somehow you can hashtag each of these words and the flock of people who are going healthy should be shacked up right in front of here. Whatever sweets they are using… it must be laced with something that resembles a drug, cause I have to say this is good… so now when to have the next flavours? There’s a board that says buy 4 get 1 free. bring your friends and stand along the curb with your pudding in hand, cause maybe if you don’t leave far enough you may order another. I thought they were pounding their own chest when I saw the sandwich board say«Truly Incredible Pudding»… I’m willing to vouch for that!
