Fantastic. Incredible selection of smoked meats, delicious patès, interesting cheeses and unusual accouterments. The selection is great but what makes this place extra special is the people who work here. They are so friendly and helpful here. They really know their stuff and can make helpful recommendations as well. Visiting this shop is a delight.

Oh my goodness! HOW can this place not have more reviews, and all five stars?! Fantastically tasty finds, excellent service, really a gem. Only wish we had a sister shop in Seattle. We’ll definitely make this a part of any future Victoria itinerary…

What a great little place to stumble across! We tried their daily special, which was a wonderfully flavoured house-made sausage with some great mixed braised peppers and onions as toppings and freshly made pickle Dijon mustard on a phenomenal brioche bun. The whole thing was mouthwatering, not too filling, and well priced. A canelé de Bordeaux for dessert was a great treat for dessert. I’d highly recommend this place!

I had Choux Choux put together a couple of variety platters for a big family reunion earlier this month. I was pleasantly surprised with the quantity AND quality of what they provided. I gave them complete free reign to do what they wanted within my budget and I couldnt have been more pleased. I am still working at finishing off the leftovers and that makes me a very happy man! My favorite of all the items they gave us to sample was the lamb proscuitto… OMG it is incredible! I will definitely be back to Choux Choux for all my cured meat needs :)

I have now shopped here several times and each time I am impressed with the quality and value of my purchases. The foie gras mousse was probably one of the best things I have ever eaten. My children cannot get enough of their duck pepperoni sticks. While their cured meats are slightly more expensive than the Freybe dreck you get in the local grocery stores, it is a million times more delicious. If you haven’t been here yet, what’s stopping you?

I have to wonder why some of the other reviews have not been flagged as obviously paid for. While Choux Choux does have a decent cheese selection, the quality has been hit or miss. I’ve stopped buying there, as I don’t want to be repeatedly disappointed when I try new things. I bought some bread there, and brought it back when I found that it was obviously stale. The staff’s smiles turned to glares, and I’ve rarely experience such icy disdain. I’ve found them to be lacking in knowledge about the products they sell as well. So-so products, high prices, and ignorant, unfriendly staff.

Extremely positive word of mouth about Choux Choux led me to seek them out last week. So far, my husband and I have only tried their deli items(we haven’t eaten lunch in the space yet). Our favourite item so far is their foie gras with truffle oil pâté. It’s amazing and worth every penny. Their beef salami is also fantastic. I think we’re going to be shopping here all the time now.

Fantastic little shop. Great selection of quality product, well informed and helpful staff, reasonable prices. I finally stopped by choux choux charcuterie and asked for some help picking some cheeses to pair with the wine we had for the evening. The staff member was very helpful in recommending and picking out the cheeses, was very pleasant and comfortable to deal with and despite my lacking knowledge in the area, I was never made to feel that my questions were dumb or ill informed. We also tried some duck pâté and truffle foie gras(which I’d never had before) and it was delicate and beautiful tasting. We also made the last minute decision to pick up a baguette as well. It was a bit crispy with a nice chewiness and was the perfect accompaniment to the wine, cheese and pâté. I highly recommend trying choux choux if you’re in the market for some charcuterie type items.

i love this little shop! i heard stories and saw their bacon listed on Tre Fantastico’s breakfast menu(uhh. go have the breakie sammi!!) and was intrigued to visit this place first hand. wowee! house made pâté with pistachios? cheeses, and sausages. the lamb sausages were to die for and I can’t wait to go back to get more. oh, and they also serve up some fol epi breads for sandwiches. what’s more to love?!

Why did it take me so long to find this place? I loved their plat du jour, which today was Mennonite Sausage with mashed potatoes and caramelized onion jus. I grew up with Mennonite Sausage, made fresh by real Mennonites, so I started out skeptical. But through the entire meal I was reliving the ecstacy of the delicious meals prepared by my grandmother. It was great food! The selection of sausages looked amazing — I was headed to the airport when I found this place and I wasn’t sure how difficult it would be to get the sausages past airport security. Otherwise I would have bought some. Next time I’m in Victoria I’m going to be coming here. .. probably daily. It’s that good!

I’ll stay with my theme here in Victoria… «are you kidding???» I thank the Gods for happening upon places like this. Stumbling along what is quickly unfolding as the lamest self-billed Antiques Row in any city that I’ve ever been in, our stomachs instinctively drew us to the doors of Choux Choux. Perhaps it was the chalkboard sign that read«Boudoin Noir». Well that caught my attention. What sealed the deal was the other side: «La Plate du Jour… Truffle Eggs and Salad». We’re in! Amidst the modest deli-esque selection of choice mustards and other condiments from the Old County, the deli case boasts an impressive array of terrines, pates and rillettes(one of everything, PLEASE) So, lunch consisted of Foie Gras Pâté with a glorious pepper aspic, Pork and Duck Rillettes on a fresh baguette. Oh, and the truffle eggs which my partner nearly cried over. Choux Choux continued my perfect game here in Victoria. A shining jewel on a lackluster street of dull agates.
