Doug and the guys at Len Fraser(Named after Doug’s late father) run a great barber shop complete with cable tv, magazines of all kinds(if you know what we mean) and manly robust chatter on local and international events. Cursing is acceptable and no one will be offended. Manly hair cuts $ 17.50 plus gratuity. A lot of the military and police go here so you can feel safe as well as confident in knowing the only fluff here are the cotton balls.

I’ve been a regular customer of Len Fraser barbers for about 4 years now. I’m in the military so getting a haircut is a pretty regular activity. I go in about once every 3 – 4 weeks. Each time I get great and friendly service from the guys behind the clippers. There are three chairs and usually 2 – 3 of them working depending on the time of day. Each do a good job though I’m hardly a challenging customer just getting a buzz. There is a TV there to watch while you wait and while getting your hair cut, an ample supply of good magazines to read and some great conversation in general with the guys and with other customers. It has that great barbershop atmosphere. As for the cuts themselves, they go the extra mile with a straight razor shave of the back of the neck and around the ears with warm shaving cream and they use a vacuum to get most of those pesky trimmings that litter your collar and give you that usual itchy neck after a haircut. I can go in there in my white uniform at lunch and go back to work with barely a speck on my uniform, thats pretty damn good as far as I’m concerned. Anyway, bottom line, I’m a happy long term customer and will continue to be one as long as I’m living and working in Victoria.
