You gotta check out the new menu at Moon Under Water Brew Pub — you won’t be disappointed. While the brewery is producing some of the best beer in British Columbia, the menu was in need of revamp and this new version does the trick — great value for money. Chef Taylor Craig and his crew James and Cam have combined some old-school comfort food favs like beer-battered deep-fried pickles and zucchini sticks(pairing suggestion: Light Side of the Moon. And house-made jalapeño poppers — try finding those anywhere else in this city. The taco salad is flying out the door, and for good reason. Great job!

Great Beer, Great Food, amazing atmosphere. Best beer in BC. I look forward to coming back each and every time I come to BC.

Beer is awesome, food is great. Service had always been a little questionable, and tonight was downright terrible. We arrived two hours before music bingo was slated to start, with every intention to just have dinner. The server moved us to a cramped table directly beside another party because of «how busy it was going to be». I explained that we would be out well before music bingo started and was met with a blank stare. Our server then told me that the bar doesn’t have lime cordial despite this being something I have ordered every time I was there in the past. Maybe the bar was just out? Our burgers arrived with toppings we ordered them without, and our server proceeded to move another table away despite there being a ton of room in the bar. When we left the table we initially tried to sit at was still open, and during billing the server continued to complain about music bingo being too busy and loud.

I cannot believe anyone gave this place five stars. Here are the terrible things about this pub in order of disappointment: beer quality, other drink quality, food quality, atmosphere, sound quality, smell. The moon under water beers are all gross, the only good beers are the guest taps. The wine tastes like vinegar — house wine doesn’t mean corked two months ago! The food is abysmal, I, my husband, and two other girlfriends have all gotten food poisoning there on different occasions — mine was from chicken fingers. Another time when I was there with a friend she order a burger and the bun was frozen! WTH? The atmosphere is terrible. It’s too bright and cold(I like a cozy pub with warm lighting) and loud with chatter so you cant really hear each other talking without yelling. I expect a pub to be loud but normally it’s because there is music opposed to an echoing high ceiling! Lastly, this place reeks. Every time I go in its a new adventure into disgusting-ness for my nose. Last time it was like rotten Tabaco — how does that even happen? The server said it was because they were making cesars, which makes no sense; I shudder to think how they’ve butchered that drink. This brew pub has one good thing going for it: location, man I wish a decent brew pub was located near my house! I keep wishing for moon under water to improve so I could stumble home satisfied from my corner pub but I think its time to accept it sucks, and move on. I would NEVEREVER recommend anyone to go there.

In fairness, I did not have the beer. However best on past reviews I thought this might be a good place to get a burger. Food was okay not good and definitely not great. Tasteless beef, stringy bacon and a bun that had obviously come out of the freezer. Fries were again okay, hot, salty and probably the leftovers from lunch. But the most annoying was the canned«classic» rock! Really? Low key rainy January afternoon deserves better tunes.

Very fun place with some local characters, friendly bartenders, and a dog who keeps an eye on the joint :) we didn’t have any food but got to see the chicken wing prep which looked impressive! The only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars is there is a very strong smell of the beer being brewed and the manager who was on his laptop at the bar complaining about his job, not too appropriate, even if we were the only 2 people in the place at the time.

Love it at the moon. The creepy uncle dunkel is the better of the craft beers in my opinion. If you want to reserve a seat for bingo do it way in advance(week in advance) it is busy

I went here the other day and had a veggie burger and it tasted nasty! The server I had was also really rude and wouldn’t do anything about it :(I ended up hardly eating it and threw my money away…

Really pleased. Good food! I got the BBQ bacon chicken burger and my husband got the chicken wings. Both very tasty. Beer was good too.

One of the best brewpubs around. They had one service staff that needed to go, and that person is gone. Now the Moon Under Water Brewpub is an all-around fantastic craft beer experience. At a lot of brewpubs I would never suggest the flights, since you’ll only end up liking one or two of the selection. I enjoy every single beer MUW brews, and even their seasonals continue with the consistent high quality that I’ve come to expect from MUW. However, don’t get me wrong: this is a place you go for the beer. The food isn’t bad, but that’s not why you’re there.

Excellent food. Great beer selection — I had the Creepy Uncle Dunkle, great Friday night music bingo fun. Will be back again and again.

Love this place! My wife and I tried it out while vacationing in Victoria last month. We walked about forty minutes to get here(stopping at all the other breweries along the way) and it was well worth it! Really solid beers, good food with huge portion sizes, and great atmosphere/layout. This is one of the places we went to where we really felt like we could relax and just enjoy ourselves. If I could give this place four and a half stars I would. I wouldn’t go a full five stars because I didn’t think any of their beer was all that ground breaking or spectacular. Still, GOOD beer. It’s worth it. GO. But, for it to be a full five stars for me, I’d have to like the beer just a *little* bit more.

For my money, MUW has perhaps the most consistent high quality lineup of beers in Victoria. Not flashy beers, not wacky fruity beers, not high alcohol beer bombs — just good well balanced beers. And my veggie burger was good too — it’s steep at $ 13 but tasty and lots of above average fries. Good friendly service. Now for the downside of MUW: the room itself is boring and completely uninspiring, like a pub from the early 80s. No patio, no window seats but then again would you really want to look at the industrial area surrounding the pub? For me, I’ll seek out their beers at other pubs or in the bottle.

The service was very quick, with the food arriving sooner than expected. The beer was terrific. I couldn’t decide, so was offered samples. Liked it so much we bought some to take home. The bottles were 650 ml though — essentially the size of two beer. We liked. This is Hefeweizen and Potts Pils

Great beer, great food, and great service — especially from Aisha(she’s always super friendly and never gets the order wrong). My partner and I try to go most Mondays for the beer and nacho special — $ 15(without tip) and we are stuffed and happy!

A great place to get some fairly priced pub food and some great beer. I had their veggie burger with fries. It was a good portion and the veggie burger was interesting. Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of Moon Under Water beer but they always have several other beers on tap so it doesn’t matter! Great place, would recommend to anyone looking for a great brewpub.

Highly recommended! Run by an amazing family. All the food is fresh and delicious. Go for the special of the day, always killer. Beer couldn’t get any fresher, as it’s brewed in house.

We had a flight(tasters) of all their 6 beers. Great fun, and very different beers. You need to try yourself. Then we ordered a pound of wings. Mine were the spicy whiskey flavored ones. They were great wings and cooked to perfection, but unfortunately not spicy at all. After telling the waitress about this she apologized and said the wings would be on the house. Then we ordered a chilli, which we could even taste first. It wasn’t spicy enough for me, but my wife says it’s one of the tastiest she ever had. They brought extra chilli sauce so that I can add as much spice as I needed. Was great ! Overall a great experience, very friendly and fast service. We will be back!

I really want this place to succeed — but it has a lot of work to do. While it’s hard to expect great ambiance in a warehouse, there’s just something about the combination of office building carpeting and convention center chairs that turns me off. Moon Under Water specializes in session beers — beers with low alcohol percentages, smooth textures, and subtle, yet present flavours. They are great for a summer’s eve. And because they aren’t too alcoholic, you can ride your bike to the pub, have a beer, and bike home without having to worry about your balance. And we ordered their vegetable coconut curry, which lacked flavour even after adding copious amounts of salt. Perhaps the goal is to appeal more to the palates of middle aged Brits than those who enjoy spice. Moon Under Water gives a solid effort, and I’d be willing to give it another try. I’ll just stay away
