Attractive, inviting shop where olive oils and balsamic vinegars can be sampled before bought. They have olive oils in varietals, fused, and infused. The variety of flavored balsamic vinegars is wonderful. Very friendly and helpful staff.

A warning to all those who react to their tastebuds because you’ll do so by pulling out your wallet. ;). That’s what my brother and I did after tasting several white/red balsamic vinegars, numerous infused/non-infused olive oils! Staff is very friendly, patient, and will let you sample as much as you want. And you know what? This sales model works because people do end up buying. I would’ve purchased a sampler box, but my check-in wouldn’t allow those sized bottles. Lucky for me, they ship as well… I just hafta kinda remember what I liked before I order!

Very friendly staff, hundreds of options and combinations. The gift sets are a great option if you’re indecisive(me) and don’t know what you want to take home. They have a nice selection of chocolates as well. Worth the stop if you’re at the market or looking for some special combination of oil and vinegar.

If you’re a foodie, you owe it to yourself to pay a visit to Olive the Senses. There’s such a wide and delicious variety of olive oils and balsamic vinegars… flavours that you wouldn’t think of! My wife and I use it as salad dressings and even on pancakes! It’s also such a great birthday/housewarming present to give to friends with their sampler boxes. I’ve done so about 10 times now and each time my Olive the Senses gift is absolutely loved by the lucky recipient! To top it all off, the owners, Emily and Steve, are super friendly and helpful and their staff is equally awesome. Can’t wait for my next visit!

LOVEDIT! My mother, my friend, and I popped in to see what all the hubbub was about and I’m sure glad we did. We had so much fun sampling all the great balsamic vinegars and olive oils. I’m more of a sucker for balsamic but my friend who loves olive oils said that she was truly impressed. We left there with the lemongrass and mint white balsamic(although the grapefruit was my personal favorite) and used it on the salad we made that night. YUMM! We also purchased the white fish rub which was pretty darn tasty. We left Olive the Senses very happy but with stomachs that were more than a little acidic. :)

This is truly as good as it gets! In fact, you’d be wise to pop next door to the bakery and bring some bread! jk. That might be frowned upon. I came here on a trip recently with my boyfriend and we had way too much fun here. First we popped in simply to see what all they had in the way of olive oils. A friend recommended we see the Market and specifically this store — little did we know we’d be here to try everything! I spotted a few flavors here and there that piqued my interest and then before I knew it, I was so into how unique and different every single flavor was, I had to try them all. A gal working there was quick to assist, answer questions, offer up her personal recommendations, talk about what oils/vinegars went well with what types of dishes, etc. I didn’t know you could really get this wild with olive oil and I’m so glad I finally see the light! So impressed were were that we bought a gift pack for ourselves and chose 4 different flavors(three oils, one vinegar) to take home. Make sure not to come on an empty stomach — you think you won’t want to try them all but you will! Another fun game(as long as you’re seriously shopping and considering buying something) is to find a flavor, read what it is, and see if your friend/sig other can guess it without looking. It’s truly remarkable how intense and tasty some of the flavors are!

Calling all food geeks and nerds! Olive the Senses is a real treat for people who really fuss about olive oils and vinegars. When I went there, I felt like a kid in a candy store. There were so many olive oils and vinegars to taste in such little time(I had a wedding reception to attend right after this). The staff was really patient with me and very informative. Olive the Senses is inside the nicely restored Hudson Bay building. The space is very open, bright, and clean. There aren’t any fancy decors so the focus is totally on those cute little barrels of oils and vinegars. They offer a good variety of both. I had a hard time deciding which ones to buy for myself, family and friends as souvenirs for them. It’s good that they offer it in various sizes too so it helps with my decision making process. Too bad there isn’t a store like this in Vancouver. Now I have another reason to visit Victoria.

Exceptionally knowledgeable staff, beautiful clean layout and you get to taste EVERYTHING! Yes, that’s probably over 40 different olive oils and balsamic vinegar varieties that you can pick and choose from! Tip: Ask to see their employee recipe book. They have a binder full of recipes provided by their staff for each of the different olive oils and vinegars and you can just take copies of whatever recipes you would like to try. They will blow your mind. Seriously, this place is a cut above the rest and I hope they or someone opens a similar spot in Montréal. *wink wink* to any Montréal entrepreneurs.
