This experience was gawd awful. DO NOT bother with this mental case of a business owner.
We bought a box of coins and gold at a credible auction last night. We brought it in to find out what it would be worth — a very normal thing to ask of a coin dealer who may be interested in purchasing. The owner went swiftly from telling us to look up the coins in his reference book ourselves to informing us that we are frauds — to all-​out kicking us out of his store!
We went to the neighboring coins and gold dealer and got a good assessment. We told him of our experience, and sure enough — he laughed and said it was «a common complaint» and that he «thinks the owner needs to retire».
So — all told — BEWARE. DO NOT BOTHER with Van Isle Coin & Stamp. It is a *waste* of time.
