Really good Shawerma! Nice large servings of all the side dishes. My wife an I both got the takeout Chicken Shawerma with Rice and Fatoush. The Fatoush salad was authentic and amazing. It had those fried pita bits that are supposed to be in Fatoush(but a lot of places skip these). They gave us both garlic and Tahini in a seperate container with a fresh pita. The true test of good Shawerma is being given so much food you’re not able to finish, and I was not.

Many people told me that this place has the best sharwarma and it has won multiple awards, so I decided to check it out before I move out of Waterloo forever. Verdict: It was delicious, however for about $ 13 after tax, it doesn’t give as much rice/vegetables as another good KW shawarma spot, Mozy’s Shawarma. I was pretty surprised with the lack of rice, but the amount of chicken is about the same. The fatoush is a really good if you’re looking for a salad option. The lady serving us was really nice, and we took a lot of time with our order because we didn’t know what to get and she was really patient with us.

The flavour is good but the wraps are small compared to Mozy shwarma or Arabesque. I got the lamb kabab wrap and the meat to vegetable ratio was not balanced. I think I came later in the day, thus ended up with scraps. I may try this place during lunch.

I had the Jawad’s special chicken shawarma(which is a twist on the authentic version also available). I am from Toronto where there are tons of shawarma places but I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the best shawarma I have ever had. Period.

I only had the chicken shawarma wrap so I can’t speak for the other items. Taste was good, portion was small(especially compared to Mozy’s).

I had a plate of chicken shwarma and curry rice, with a side of salad. The plus side is that the chicken and rice were simply amazing. I think their chicken is probably one of the best I’ve had so far in KW and the rice was seasoned well and fluffy. HOWEVER, the reason I am giving this place only three stars is because the salad they served me tasted like it was dressed with pure lemon juice. It was so acidic the top of my mouth still burns. NOT cool. I think they just forgot to add sugar to their dressing or something because I did not taste any hint of sweetness. I will be returning… but probably won’t order the salad again.

I tried the chicken shawarma before, and I tried the Veal shawarma(On the menu it says only available on Friday). The times that I ate here, I always had amazing service and they were very nice when serving me. The veal was significantly tougher than the chicken, and the shawarma had a bit too much cilantro(it had an overpowering watery taste from it). I would recommend sticking to the chicken shawarma for a softer meat in the shawarma. The wraps are solid, and have a nice student discount(Really that means $ 1 extra if you are NOT a student) on the shawarma combos. It’s $ 9.99 for the veal shawarma and $ 8.85 for the chicken shawarma, which are fairly priced since you get some fries and a drink. The fries are lacking sadly. They taste like McCain frozen fries, and are not adding much to the combo. 4⁄5 Still Solid

I used to think that I have had good shawarma plate meals prior to coming to shawarma plus. However, one visit to shawarma plus and my definition of what a ‘good shawarma’ is has changed. It is located just around the corner from Phil’s nightclub, hence locating it might be a bit of a hassle. However, this is one of Waterloo’s hidden gems of restaurants. The owner, whose name was Jawad, recognizes who is regular customers are by name and who are his first time customers. For the latter, Jawad personally wants to ensure that he remembers your name and that your first experience at his restaurant is a good one. I have never ever experienced an owner of a restaurant going up to their customers in a student town like Waterloo, and this act from Jawad made this be a really memorable aspect of my trip to the restaurant. Upon recommendation from friends, I decided to try the chicken shawarma with rice and fattoush salad. I do not know of any other place in Waterloo that offers fattoush salad, and hence this was my first time I have ever tried so. The fattoush salad was sweet but nice. However, the chicken shawarma was to die for. Sure it was on the pricey side of the menu, but the mixture of tender chicken meat(both the breasts and thighs) with the combination of garlic and hot sauce was heavenly. This was the closest to heaven I have experienced in terms of food in Waterloo, and the food was absolutely brilliant. I would totally recommend people to go to Shawerma plus for a Shawerma, and definitely be amazed by the combination of hot sauce and garlic sauce on it. As well as definitely the friendliness of the staff and the owner. And without a doubt, this place was the easiest 5 stars I have given in my life.

This is my favourite comfort food when I need to warm up in the winter or even an alternative to chicken soup when getting over a cold. The owners are always so attentive to my family and their chicken shawerma is delicious!

One of the best! Though the portion was small and was on the pricier side compared to other places that I’ve been to.

I got the chicken shawarma plate with extra hot sauce, fattoush and rice as the sides. The chicken was very flavourful. The hot sauce was not hot at all in my opinion(actually I’d prefer it with more heat) and the creamy garlic sauce was too rich for me(it really tastes like mayo). The fattoush was great with the fried pita chips. I found it quite refreshing after the rich garlic sauce. It’s more expensive compared to other places but the quality you get is much better. I will definitely go back for more delicious shawarma but next time I think I need to ask for less garlic sauce and extra extra hot sauce.

My department at the University of Waterloo used Shawerma Plus to cater lunches for five days for 30 instructors. The individuals were from Saudi Arabia, so they know good Middle Eastern food when they encounter it! Without exception, they said that the lunches were superb(and I agree with them — the entrees and the desserts were delicious). Jawad and his staff were a pleasure to work with: they set everything up perfectly, removed it promptly after lunch, and were always cheerful. We’ll definitely use Shawerma Plus again when we require catering.

I ordered here yesterday, forgot to leave a review. It was very tasty, so I don’t comprehend how I forgot. I got the chicken and basmati rice dinner with garlic sauce and a bit of hot sauce on top. I also got the fatoosh salad, it wasn’t as authentic as a regular fatoosh salad but I enjoyed it and it even came with the crispy fries bits that I always love eating. I got baklava and a root beer to drink. I enjoyed the food alot the only reason for the 3 stars is because I expected a real authentic fatoosh salad and I felt I got a different salad, even though it tasted good. The chicken was flavourful and not dry, the rice was very tasty but sort of sticking together. I would order from here again but only if I was in the area. I would not go out of my way for this place though. I definitely recommend it, so try it out for yourself, I’m sure you’d enjoy it. They know what they are doing when it comes to food. I forgot I got 4 Falafels as well and they were extremely delicious! That gave it the extra bump or else it would of been 3 out of 4. The End

I have been to several Shawarma shops and have never had a more authentic and delicious experience as I had with this place. The Jawad shawarma was off the charts fantastic. Real authentic taste, fresh ingredients and flavour profiles that will leave you craving more… I was then given a free taste sample of a «back home» dish with Lebanese rice with saffron, a spinach type vegetable that goes back 500 yrs into history and fried pita chips… It was absolutely out of this world and something that I will definitely go back and have a full plate of next time… Not to mention healthy and nutritious !! The staff was pleasant and super polite. I paid under $ 10 and left with an experience I will never forget. If you want a Lebanese experience that pleases your taste buds and gives you a home friendly environment… Then visit Shawarma Plus in Kitchener Waterloo and say hi to Jawad… This is a top 10 in my books … Well done !

This place is great, don’t get me wrong I think that if this place existed in the burbs of the GTA it’d be a 4.5 star. But it doesn’t, it exists in every close proximity to mozy’s. If nothing else shawerma plus makes a shawerma that’s as good as mozy’s but at roughly half the size and at equivalent cost. The value proposition of this place is just off. Why would I pay $ 8 for a smaller shawerma if I could walk down the block to mozy’s and pay $ 8 for a shawerma that’s larger and equivalent in terms of taste(subjective I know). I feel that this place would be a 4 stars for me if each shawermas costed ~$ 5 each. Aside from the fact that I think this place is lower value the shawermas themselves are delicious, there’s a good amount of meat stuffed into your shawerma and the staff working there are all cheerful and polite. If you want to try something other than mozy’s then give this place a try it, they honestly do make some kick ass shawermas; I just don’t think they should be priced at $ 8 is all.

The defining characteristic of this restaurant for me is how the food tastes homecooked. It’s hard to pinpoint, but each element of their dish is made with care. At many shawarma places, the wrap is essentially mass produced, possibly delicious and filling but with no soul. Here, the wrap is just a little bit softer, the meat just a little bit tastier with a touch more herbs and spices. The lettuce seems crunchier. Just these little things add up to an experience that seems unique. Even the interior décor and setup reflects the personality of the family-owned business. It’s bright, clean, warm, and inviting. It’s a pleasure to dine here.

Service is nice and friendly. Football is playing on a large flatscreen TV on one of the walls. Food there is good, but prices are on the high side. Had a chicken shawarma combo with drink and fries and I found the shawarma to be on the small side for $ 8.69(wish I could order it by itself!). Many of the meals are in the $ 12 — $ 15 range so this place is not just for fast food.
