The food and service was amazing and the food itself was plated beautifully. The staff were easy going and knowledgable and they helped us chose the right dish from the menu and a little local knowledge as well! Also, sit by the fireside patio and enjoy the people watching anytime of the year. Enjoy the great food and lovely ambience that makes any night off the scale awesome.

Late night supper and a glass of wine. Service was good and friendly. Had the 2 meat and one cheese board and a delicious Née Zealand white. Really yummy. Reasonably priced for Whistler

Outstanding service and not a bad deal on the three course dinner. By far one of the best dinners we have had in Whistler. High end cuisine at fair prices. Great patio to grab a bottle of wine and relax on as well. Definitely coming back.

It was our first time as a family going to whistler together. Planned to go to other places we searched on Unilocal but they were packed out on a Saturday night. So happy we stumbled on this place and during the Go Fest it was not too close to the live music but just at the right distance. Never have I ever loved every item we ordered at a 3 course meal! I don’t even like clams normally but they made it delicious(with bacon bits)! The halibut and chocolate crème brûlée was also divine! I’d totally go there again if given the chance.

Love this place. In and amongst the standard bar food scene(which I do love) I am crazy about the best wine, cheese, home made mustard, and prosciutto that is like butter. It is amazing and the location is just lovely on the main stroll. The fire pit and Richie, the waiter, are all mentionable and contributed to a Whistler moment. The main stroll is getting too barfoody and nachoey, so I want to see places like this and Araxi continue to thrive. My thumbs up. The hostess could kill it however as she turned us away at 6PM saying all tables are full. I had to ask, «when are the guests coming could we have a quick glass?» She said they were«coming at 8PM» and I said«well we can easily do a whole dinner in a 2 hour period». She went for it(she was very nice) and in fact we were done in an hour, it was lovely. So that hostess part was interesting(maybe this is how they want it) and will cost them an unnecessary loss of business. The food the concept; the BC wine; the place; the waiter; the house made mustard; was sensational.

We only came here for a drink so can’t really say much about the food but looking at what others had on their table it looks like they have awesome charcuterie. Prices for drinks are a little more than I’d like and I don’t think they tasted particularly special, but at the same token, it wasn’t bad by any means. I would definitely come back to try their meat and cheese boards.

After a long day of skiing, Basalt hit the spot perfectly! We were a family of five looking for fondue and appetizers. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio and were kept warm by great outdoor heaters and blankets. We loved their fondue, and equally enjoyed their ceasar salad and a variety of their meats(dipped in fondue was awesome)! Service was fast and friendly and we enjoyed the whole experience. Worth a visit.

You know when you go to a nice restaurant but leave with a bad taste in your mouth? This was my experience over Easter weekend. I was excited to try this place. I had the bone marrow appy+ seafood bouillabaisse; both were beautifully presented and tasty. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. Our waitress(Julie?), had a no nonsense and icy-like demeanour. Although she apologized for getting a drink order wrong and not providing enough cutlery for sharing appys, she was quick to ‘explain’(aka give an excuse) how she misunderstood our order. Of note, service charge was included for our party of 6 so perhaps she didn’t feel like she had to even try?! Normally, I wouldn’t let mediocre service bother me but since this is a nicer and pricer restaurant where the majority of patrons are tourists, the service ought to be good. Or at least friendly!

Charming bar and very accommodating to our needs. Sat outside under heaters after skiing which was wonderful and great people watching. Shared a small fondue which was great and generally very impressed with the service and drinks.

We stopped in for an early lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The makeover from the previous restaurant was immense, the food selection was great — we created our own charcuterie and cheese platter which provided a ton of food for us to share. Fairly large portions all around, delicious to boot, and great service! :) Will be back!

This is a small, clean feeling restaurant with light wooden walls, high tops, smaller boot/chair tables, and a bar. We came in without reservations and were told there was no availability for the rest of the night although it seemed there was plenty of space. We came back slightly early for our reservation the next night and were seated in the corner although plenty of nicer tables were available. When we asked to move the hostess told us they were full. The food was decent but nothing special. The server, a Canadian man, was very sweet.

Basalt is absolutely wonderful. If you are lucky enough take a seat at the bar an enjoy your evening with Gil or Trevor. Their knowledge of wines is fantastic and your be lucky enough to indulge in spectacular food.

This place is great! We came here for lunch and ordered a panini with salami finocchiona and dubliner cheddar, and the chicken liver mousse. Both with their accompaniments were excellent — except the cabbage slaw with the panini was bland. And compared with the rest of the food, this was a stark difference, and the only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars. The server was very helpful and friendly — I highly recommend this place.

I really wanted to like this place. food is really good. we went there for valentines day in which they only had one special course. the server was a bit confused and forgot an entire course. We ended up with festival seating in spite of the fact we made reservations a couple months in advance. after griping a bit, they moved us to a 4 seat table near the door. I’ll try it again, it’s probably a better bar drop in place than a dinner reservation for couples joint.

Food was great but service was sooooo slow. We waited over 90 min for a panini that arrived cold. The kitchen must be disorganized, as pâté plate took 90 min as well. But the meats and cheeses were delicious. If they could get their service figured out it would be awesome. Update — after the serious delay and some of the food Temps were pointed out to them, they offered to recook some of the food and take 25% off the bill. We hope they figure out the kitchen situation, and wish them well.

Lou took great care of us! She recommended their last bottle of tempranillo and it shined. The food and décor was amazing, but the service was top notch! We will be back.

Excellent service! Great food! We sat outside on the patio by the fireplace. We didn’t have a reservation, and we were told the wait was 30 minutes for a table for two. The hostess took our name and number and called when the table was ready. We had steamed Manila clams and the Parmesan fries to start. Very very good steamed clams! Highly recommend trying them. We also ordered the vegetable ragout which was simple yet delicious. Our waitress was wonderful and so was the hostess.

Not sure what to expect. We were overwhelmed by the service level. Excellent food presentation and quality. We all four did the three course and were filled to capacity with excellent 5 star food and 5 star service. Recommend to all to come on in and give it a chance to impress you.

We had a 15% off coupon for this place from our hotel(which is good for all food, except the 3 course menu at dinner), so we decided to check it out. This is one of the nicer restaurants in the Village. It is nice and cozy on the inside with light music playing. They also have seating outside next to a really great fire pit. Our servers for the night were extremely friendly and helpful. We came in at around 4:30 and started with the fondue pot, which came with a ton of bread and delicious melted cheese. I’d definitely recommend spending the extra $ 3 to add truffle oil. After fondue, I ordered a squash soup and my husband got the 3 courses for $ 36. The squash soup was the perfect size and really flavorful and delicious. For the appetizer, he had the bone marrow. I thought it was DELICIOUS, but it was a LOT of work. We also tried it with the extra shot, which was okay(not something I’d recommend as it is messy and I hate hard liquor). For the entrée, my husband ordered the chicken, which he noted was some of the best chicken he ever tasted. It was perfectly moist and a huge portion. For dessert, we ordered the citrus panna cotta, which is good if you don’t like things that are too sweet. I’d say the only downside to this place is the price(it can get pretty expensive). Other than that, we had a great time.
