Black Tusk Gallery

We had a very different experience upon our visit to Black Tusk Gallery than reviewer Skylar L. My friend David and I were out exploring Whistler Village and decided some art galleries would be interesting and fun — and a way to get out of the heat (was upper 80’s that day — Fahrenheit).
The gentleman running the gallery (I forget his name) was very friendly and answered all of our questions about the art pieces — including the very large ceremonial mask hanging from the ceiling in the center of the gallery.
I love learning about North American natives and their culture — their music, art, history, etc. I wish I could afford a couple of their art pieces — they were way out of my price range — but I still enjoyed seeing them and hearing about them!

My friends and I went in here last year. Just because we were young (all in our 20s) the woman didn’t give us the time of day. Granted, I don’t have money to spend on mostly mediocre art (some better, more worse), but one of the girls I was with definitely could have and then some. Because of the woman’s extreme rudeness none of us will ever patron this gallery.
