Altamente recomendable. Mucho mejor comida que en sushi village. Pescado mucho más fresco y rico

A super popular place on busy weekends, and now we know why. We walked in around 6:30pm on the Saturday of President’s Day weekend to find out that the earliest for a table of three would be 9:30pm. Apparently, we looked enough like little lost puppies that the hostess took pity on us and said they could squeeze us into a two-top at 7:30pm. Hooray! Service was super friendly(is this a Canadian thing?) and food was good. Since we didn’t get nigiri, I can’t vouch for freshness of the fish, but what we had in the rolls seemed pretty good. * fanny bay oysters with ponzu — sweet and fresh oysters. the ponzu wasn’t overpowering and allowed the flavors of the oysters to shine through. * agedashi tofu — lightly fried tofu in smaller cubes than the traditional version. the frying was perfect and the smaller cubes were easier to eat. * grilled black cod collar — very buttery grilled fish, but small portion * nabeyaki noodle — perfect soft boiled egg, tempura shrimp and tasty fish cakes. * super beautiful roll — tasty, but not so great that I wanted more than one piece * kani blossoms — very good * green tea crème brûlée — good hint of matcha without being too bitter. very rish and a good way to end the meal.

After years of coming to Whistler and trying other sushi places, we had never been here. And it’s understandable, this place is tricky to find, we came at it from a couple of angles but couldn’t find the entrance. Turned out the stairs were on the southwest side of the building, Nagomi is on the second floor. This is a cozy place, the lobby is small and the dining areas are tight, as well. After a brief wait, we were seated. The place was busy, there were all sorts of people here including quite a few families with kids. Service was pretty good and attentive. We prefer more traditional sushi, so we we opted for a very good assortment of sushi in addition to 3 other rolls, a Beautiful Roll, a Sunshine Roll, and a Tempura Roll. The presentation was very good and the quality was also, very good. Best I’ve ever had, no. But very good. This is a cozy place, some families with small children came in while we were eating and it changed the personality of the restaurant pretty quickly. But that’s Whistler Backcomb, it’s a family affair. I am glad we came here to add to the collection of possible sushi places to visit at Whistler.

Do not come here. Service is terrible. Food is okay except you will not be seated for at least an hour more then they tell you and don’t even get me started about take out. Do not recommend. Try to avoid at all cost. They don’t even apologize for being so late. Just awful service would not come back.

Beware. Uncooked chicken. Bad customer service Went there for a take out dinner. The chicken was under cooked. Bloody. Will upload a pic Went back there and showed them the chicken. The«manager» let me wait 15 mins while she’s checking with the owner. Eventually she came back offering to refund the chicken item. Only the chicken. Rest of the meal — not. Wow. They won’t charge for the undercooked chicken. Only in Canada.

Must try the toro and Uni. Oyster is fresh from Vancouver Island. The owner is from Japan and has lived in Whistler for 23 years. Friendly service. Crowed even after 9 pm.

This is by far the best restaurant on Blackcomb base. Also, it happens to be the best sushi joint I have ever been to. All the staff are friendly and attentive. The food usually is ready promptly, and is always great quality. The restaurant itself may be a bit small, if only for the fact that it is very popular. A must try when visiting Whistler!

I only had takeout from here so I can’t speak to the service, but the food was better than most sushi restaurants in Vancouver, with the most deliciously fresh sashimi, melt-in-your-mouth tuna poke, fantastic creative(but not ridiculous) rolls, and tempura and agedashi tofu that arrived perfectly crispy, despite being delivered(where both items usually steam themselves and arrive soggy). I’ve been to Sushi Village, Kaze, Sachi, Harajuku, Samurai… Nagomi far exceeds them all. I can’t wait to dine in and get blown away!

Excellent sushi. The freshest in Whistler. Nearly the same price as sushi village. Go here you won’t be disappointed.

We ate at the bar area, small cozy place at the bottom of Blackcomb mountain perfect after a full day of snowboarding. All about the range of raw fish sushi here.

This place gets pretty packed, make reservations if possible and double check to make sure they put your reservation on the correct time and day! Food was good. Salmon Kama, smoked salmon platter, tuna tempura roll, beef udon, nabeyaki, easy roll combo(all cooked rolls), and various nigiri. Sashimi tasted and looked fresh. Uni was so yummy and local! Service was attentive and sociable.

Overpriced resort sushi, the fish was not fresh at all, the food was overpriced, nothing really special at this place. We were charged $ 19 for tempera, for just shrimp and 3 pieces of vegetables. What a rip!!! My Red Dragon roll was a joke at $ 18, it was small and again the fish was not fresh. The sushi chefs looked bored and didn’t crack a smile, nothing, stone faced sushi chefs…

We came here for dinner during our stay in Whistler because we felt like sushi and it came highly recommended from Unilocal. We were not disappointed. We had the soft shell crab and house smoked salmon for starters which were both excellent. For main we ordered the sunshine roll, the way combo(california roll, tempura roll and bbq salmon roll) and the box sushi(with yellowfin from the special menu). All Sushi treated very good. My favourites were the sunshine roll, followed by the tempura(what I positive surprise that one was, usually don’t like sushi tempura rolls). The box sushi war a miss for me. It came with some sauce on top which had a strong charcoal flavour and spoiled that roll for me. Couldn’t taste the yellowfin at all. The waitress was very nice and even have us some tips for the next leg of our holiday.

If you are willing to venture outside of the village, this tucked-away sushi joint is well worth it. Whistler screams more«beer and burger» to me, so I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fish — sashimi just melted in the mouth. I didn’t find the prices to be outrageous — for the quality(and the fact you are in a resort town), it was expected. No frills kind of atmosphere, but it’s not needed when the food speaks for itself. Full bar, with a nice selection of sakes.

Planned to go here our second night in Whistler because of the reviews. Although the place was rather empty we were turned down since we had no reservations. So, we made reservations for another night. Our server was really good. The atmosphere was above average for a sushi restaurant. The food was well done and presented beautifully. We tried a little bit of everything and it was all good. This place is far superior to several of the tourist trap restaurants you’ll end up in while in Whistler.

Nagomi lives up to its reputation as one of the best sushi places in town. The hamachi and tuna just melt in your mouth. Service is fast and there is a nice selection of premium sakes. A bit more pricey that you may find at home, but isn’t everything in Whistler? Convenient walk from Four Seasons, Fairmont and most of Blackcomb.

We came in for dinner here one evening. We opted to sit at the bar so we could chat with the Sushi Chefs and watch them at work. We learned that one of them has the nickname«Speedy.» Super nice Japanese Sushi Chef. We enjoyed chatting with him during our visit. I was thrilled to see they offer Poke on the menu — a favorite of mine. Of course all Poke dishes are somewhat different in style from one another — but I judge all Poke dishes in comparison to the Poke dish offered at the Sushi 2 – 2 Train in Saratoga, CA. I requested that they make the Poke dish spicy — it’s not really how they serve their Poke, but Speedy attempted to spice it up. It was not really spicy — but it was still an outstanding Poke variant! The flavors were wonderful and the tuna practically melted in your mouth! It did not disappoint! I also ordered the Nigiri Sea Scallops. My friend David ordered some Sake — I guess he did not realize how much he ordered as they brought out an entire bottle — which we then polished off. We asked if we could get a Sake Bomb, they responded«no,» — they claimed they’ve had to many broken glasses and such — so we respected their policy and moved on. Our server was very nice. We enjoyed our visit to Nagomi! Highly recommended!

I already can’t wait to go back again this week. The fish is fresh, soft, silky, melt in your mouth. The proportion of fish to rice(for the nigiri sushi) is amazing, about 2:1 compared to every other sushi restaurant here in the states. Although the prices are resort prices, it was still worth every cent. It just reminded me so much of growing up in Japan. Such quality and simplicity. I can’t comment on the rolls as they are at the bottom of my To Eat list when the nigiri sushi is this good. Sigh

We had a hard time finding this restaurant. It’s on the Blackcomb side, around the corner on the back side of the strip mall. Inside is nicely decorated and it feels peaceful. Their pricing on the fresh oysters was great, only $ 1.75 each. The Nabeyaki Noodle was very good, it warms you from the inside out. Aside from those items, everything else was just ok. Service was friendly and attentive.

Really enjoyed our dinner here during off season. $ 25 for 4 courses. We tried all kinds of different dishes that we normally wouldn’t get at home. We were brave and tried sea urchin… won’t be having that again! Service was great. We sat at the sushi bar. Great place for sushi in Whistler

Great service and takes reservations! We were able to snag a reservation for 6 on a Saturday night that Friday. Points for that! Everything was A-Ok, from the service to the food. I guess I just expected a little bit more freshness in the fish — the sashimi wasn’t my favorite because the texture just wasn’t right. Also, we ordered a few of the starters and while everything was tasty, nothing was super memorable. For example, the edamame chips, which sounded really interesting(edamame peas wrapped in soft tofu, fried and accompanied with dill tartar sauce), was really boring — the dill wasn’t bright, the ‘chips’ weren’t very crispy and it was kinda meh. The rolls, on the other hand, were excellent — they had really interesting combinations and were a great size. Overall, good option if you are looking for sushi in the village, but I think if you’re from around the coast, you’ll be slightly let down(especially when factoring in price).
