Delectable food options here! My fiancé and I decided to celebrate his birthday here and this resto far exceeded our expectations. We indulged in the following: Lobster Bisque, Lobster & Scallops, Parmesan Gnocchi, and Grilled Tiger Prawn Risotto with mixed vegetables. It was all extremely fulfilling! For dessert, we had the sticky toffee pudding and it was the perfect ending. Recommended for couples or friends or family… they cater to all! The front office staff and waitresses were so helpful & kind! This place is number 1 for a reason. Should we return to Whistler, we’d definitely come back!

Delicious food, great service and warm mountain town atmosphere. Had a fish trio that was delicious and the best hard cider I’ve ever had. A bit expensive for the level of creativity or preparation but definitely a solid option.

Food was a amazing. Oyster is fresh. Reservations are limited so make sure you book in advance or you will have to wait. The place is 5 min taxi from the village. Had the rib eye and venison which was awesome. great food and experience.

We had a fantastic dinner at the Rim Rock last night! Great ambience. Had the seafood antipasto which was delicious and the lamb shank which was very tender. Definitely our fave place in whistler! !!

Another great visit to Rimrock. This time lobster and Venison both very well done. They did accommodate our dietary requests. Pleasant but not overwhelming service. It is a top choice in Whistler if not the best.

From the outside its very deceiving as to what this restaurant has to offer. The atmosphere is warm & cozy. Servers were friendly & helpful. I think I may have had the best Cesar(cocktail) ever here! We started with a ceasar(salad) were planning to share it. The waiter served it to us on separate plates, I didnt even request it. Points for that! Was plenty for 2 to share. Our entrée(though the menu contains sooo many delicious things to pick from) we each choose the steak with herbed butter & mixed seasonal veg. The steak was incredible. Juicy & flavourful. The vegg side was small, but tasty. We felt good after we finished our meal so passed on dessert this round. We may make our way back to revisit this little gem before we leave Whistler! One thing that we found odd– they do not open until 5:30pm.

Best BEST best meal, experience in my life. We had all oyster choices — wonderful and fun to taste test with friends. Mushroom salad had Asian flavor so good! We had the mixed grill(venison was #1) and seafood Mix grill. Not to mention our waitress was very informative and professional. I wish we had eaten here every night of our trip.

Somehow I never made my way here even though I’ve visited whistler all my life. This place is a bit hidden away but definitely a find. Definitely a great place for date night. Cozy and romantic cabin atmosphere. Excellent service. The food is great too! They have a very good wine selection as well. We had oysters, scallops & pork belly, grilled salmon and duck two ways. Can’t go wrong with the Oysters with champagne vinaigrette on date. They were sweet and the vinaigrette wasn’t overpowering. The server was kind of enough to have the kitchen plate the seared scallops with pork belly on two separate plates since we were sharing this appetizer. It was definitely worth getting. My girlfriend ordered the salmon with gnocchi. The salmon was good but the gnocchi was amazing. Big but fluffy like clouds. If you’re a fan of gnocchi make sure you get it as a side. I had the duck two ways. a duck breast and a confit leg. Best duck I’ve had in a while. Definitely would recommend this place.

The food, the ambiance and the service all combined to make an extremely memorable experience. My wife and I had a cocktail each, a few apps and two entrees. We took our time and no one attempted to rush us through; in fact they seemed to encourage us to take as long as we liked. The service was impeccable, without being stuffy and every bite was delicious. I highly recommend Rim Rock if you are in the area, its a gem!

This place never disappoints! It’s a fine dining restaurant that calls itself a café, which had me confused for years and so I never even tried this place until recently, however its reputation as one of the best restaurants in town is not exaggerated! What I like best, is that every time I come, the menu is quite different, suggesting that the chef takes into account what is in season and what is available and creates a uniquely new menu all the time. I like that because I like trying new and exotic things and this place has got a lot of originality in its menu. From game to exotic seafood and always something with duck on the menu in some capacity. I just get the impression that the chef is a true artist and strives to create original inspirational dishes. I’m always leaving stuffed and satisfied and anticipating my next visit to this exquisite place!

We were referred here by a friend, so we were eager to try this out, during our weekend visit to Whistler. I knew there was a tasting menu of 4 courses for $ 49, so I thought this was a great deal to start with. We arrived and we immediately given a warm greeting by the host who seated us right away. We had an amazing server who did an outstanding job explaining the menu which had an impossible-to-choose list of options. Everything on it looked like something I would be happy with. I had the calamari for my 1st course, the prawn & pork belly as my 2nd course, the trio of fish for my 3rd course and the pudding for my last course. My wife had the lobster bisque, followed by a smoked salmon salad and a steak. EVERYCOURSEWASAMAZING. What I kept commenting to my wife was that everything was seasoned so well. Too often things are bland because enough salt /seasoning wasn’t added, but every taste we had was really really really yummy. My wife’s steak was under-cooked(the server agreed with us and told us the kitchen also agreed), so they gave her a better steak and cooked it immediately, so my wife didn’t have to wait long. She was happy with the upgrade and the server did a wonderful job of taking care of us. We can’t wait to come back to Whistler and see what’s on the tasting menu next time! Thanks for a wonderful experience from beginning to end.

What a wonderful restaurant, what a wonderful night, what a wonderful experience. From the service to the food to the wine list and ambience, this is a beautifully crafted and well run establishment. I had the filet mignon and subbed in the lobster mashed potatoes(added 3 $ only) and both were ridiculous(ridiculously good). The lobster mash had a hearty portion of tender lobster meat on top of whipped potatoes. The peppercorn sauce on the steak added the perfect balance to the semi-sweet meat, and was hands down, the absolute best one that I’ve ever had. We went for a girlfriend’s bachelorette party and they accommodated our party of seven with ease. The server was knowledgeable, gracious and genuinely nice. I cannot recommend the Rim Rock Café more.

We visited the Rim Rock on our final evening in Whistler before having to head home the next day back to the U.S. We called ahead and found the place was booked in terms of reservations. We were told we could come and sit at the bar. We got lucky as when we arrived another group also had opted to sit at the bar, and there were only two seats left — which we snagged. We met the bartender, a cool bloke originally from the U.K. that came to visit some 10 years ago, fell in love with the place, and stayed(a theme that we heard over and over in stories told to us by the many locals we befriended during our one week visit). I can’t recall the bartenders name but we greatly enjoyed chatting with him. While we were looking over the menu, we watched the bartender in action, he has as I like to say«Mad Jedi Skillz» when it comes to making finely crafted cocktails! Fun to watch! I started off with a cold pint of a local BC Ale — the«Filthy Dirty IPA,»(Parallel 49 Brewing Company, Vancouver, BC). Excellent! The Ale presented itself with notes of hops, pine resin, citrus-like, perhaps grapefruit rind, and finished on a crisp, bitter note. I ordered an appetizer — the Seared Scallops and Roasted Pork Belly, served with an ancho chili sauce, pickled shallots and cilantro oil. The dish was beautifully presented, the scallops were perfectly cooked, and the pork belly was succulent! For dinner I ordered the Elk Steak — grilled rare, served with caramelized Cipollini onion bacon onion dumpling, broccolini, and a mash of sweet potato. I don;t usually order my steaks rare — but the bartender recommended it — he said anything more than rare would make the Elk steak start to get tough and chewy — so I accepted his recommendation — he was right! The Elk Steak was delicious! My friend had ordered the Ribeye steak, I gave him a chunk of my Elk Steak to try — he remarked he wished he too had ordered the Elk! It was delicious! The whole meal was fantastic. We met the owner, as I recall his name is Bob. We chatted with him for a couple of minutes — nice guy! After dinner — we opted for a round of dirty vodka Martinis — complete with hand-stuffed Gorgonzola Cheese Olives! Yayyyyyy!!! We FINALLY found a bar in Whistler that offers Blue Cheese/Gorgonzola Cheese in their Martini’s! I was totally unprepared for the glass that I was presented with. I like my Martini glasses nice and chilled. This glass looked like it had come straight from the Antarctic! It looked like it was coated and layered in snow! I loved it!(See pix attached to thus business listing). The Martini was perfectly dirtied, and the olives were sublime — the Gorgonzola cheese had an almost smoky element to it — delicious! I can’t wait to come back to Whistler and visit the Rim Rock Café again!

Please ignore the somewhat dismal outside appearance. You will be moved once you get inside. First, this place has been a Whistler establishment for 30 years. Tens of dozens of awards. Accolades pepper the walls as you walk to the bathrooms, and up to the checkin. Our server, Edward, was the best. Truly heightened the experience. For a cocktail we started with a 1-month aged Manhattan, served in a rocks glass with a circle of ice, burnt orange peel, and 2 fresh cherries on a wooden skewer. And the wife had a Cavé champagne. For dinner, we were there for a $ 494-course prefix. 1. I had the ceviche. And it tasted like I was biting into the most refreshing thing after running 26.2 miles. Delightful. 2. I had the bison short rib. With roasted chili pepper, pickled garlic, and some other stuff. It was so tender it fell BEFORE I put my cold fork to it. 3. Main course was a mixed grilled fish. Salmon, tuna, and halibut. The tuna was seared. The salmon grilled. And the halibut crusted in ground porchinni mushrooms. Fabulous 4. The best part — toffee pudding. This would be my final request if on death row.

I was here in 2012 so thing may be different but judging from the high reviews, it’s the same. I had the 3 course meal and the lobster bisque was the one of the best things I’ve eaten. The main course was also one of the better meals I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend! Hopefully I can go back tonight or tomorrow. I sat at the bar and the bar tender gave great service and made a great cocktail.

Nice atmosphere. Great service. Excellent food. We’ve been wanting to try this restaurant so we finally ventured out of the village. After perusing the menu, I wanted one of everything! We ordered the Fish Trio, Mixed Grill and Dessert Medley. It was nice to be able to try smaller sizes of several items. Each bite was delicious and satisfying. It’s a little expensive but you’re paying for ambience and quality.

It had been several years since the last time we went to Rim Rock and now I wonder why. Our recent visit was very special starting with a nice greeting, immediate seating and excellent service. Oysters, fish antipasti, mixed grill and a few desserts were all well prepared and presented well. Almost forgot to mention the spaetzle — recommend giving that a try. Nice table in an attractive room. Our waiter was always there but not in an overdone way. Just right.

There aren’t enough good words to say about this place. It not only deserves it’s reputation but more. Let me start by saying the 4 that ate here last night are foodies and the food for the most part(explain more later) was delicious and would be rated with 4 stars. I had the sable fish on a bed of risotto with veggies. The fish and risotto were excellent while the butternut squash was tasteless and I love butternut squash! My husband had the elk topped with foie gras with the same vegetable accompaniment. Our two girls wanted to create their own salad by combining ingredients from two salads on the menu. Not a really difficult task. They wanted mixed greens, goat cheese, poached pears, spiced toasted pecans, apples in a champagne vinegarette. This is a salad that the eat quite often and most kitchens will easily accommodate them. To us a fine dining experience is met with good food, good atmosphere and good service. Rim Rock lacked in the service department for our main server Scott L although our water girl(don’t know her name) was not only friendly but gave us excellent service. Scott on the other hand made our experience less than pleasant. He gave us a sense that he was annoyed that the girls wanted a special salad and took an unusually long time to agree. Then the salad came out and the mixed greens were frisée and endive(neither of which are green) and the pecans were BURNT! Given the attitude that we received, we didn’t want to complain so we didn’t even bother to let Scott know, but when it was delivered to the girls, one commented«he probably spit in it». Another thing that annoyed me about Scott is I felt he was always trying to get us to purchase more. When I had asked his opinion to help decide between the sea food trio and the sable fish, he suggested the trio and then an appetizer of sable fish. We had already had ordered the calamari(delicious and prepared differently than we normally would have gotten; on top of hummus) and filo dough and fig stuffed with goat cheese(yum). He also insinuated that each person should order an appetizer because of their size(not true given our experience). We got the sticky toffee pudding for dessert which is the whole reason we came to Rim Rock and it didn’t disappoint. So if you want good food, nice atmosphere and fun with the staff isn’t important, go to Rim Rock — otherwise go to Red Door Bistro and be sure to sit at the Chefs Bar. RD and other chefs will not only entertain you, but you’ll have an incredible meal at a reasonable price!
