I don’t know how a town like Windsor lucked out, but this place has a great selection of used and new vinyl(what I buy) and a massive CD selection(what I don’t buy). Since Dr Disc is the unique vinyl shop in Windsor(to my knowledge, at least), they have to carry a bit of everything, and I find that they do a good job at diversifying their stock. You could buy a Synth-Pop record just as easily as you could a Shoegaze or Metal album. Staff is always friendly, with the exception of the one apathetic hipster cashier guy, but I mean, come on, every record store has at least one of those. Besides, it’s not like he’s unfriendly, he just sorta indifferent. Prices: typical record store prices($ 10-$ 30 for a new record)

Decent store. Lots of stuff and the staff and very easy going. Used stuff can be scratched up and damaged. They tape the used stuff closed too so you discover this after you buy it. They will take it back though. Try and sell them a scratched disc and they say its junk and give you a quarter. New CD’s are fairly high priced and usually its«we dont have that but can order it». In which case one can just order from Amazon themselves for 1⁄3rd off or more. I understand they have expenses and cannot stock everything but lets face it — we can all order things ourselves. While the staff is nice you will have to endure their«hipster» conversations with«hipster» friends who hang about pretending they are a scene of some sort. I don’t want to slam them because they are nice. I just cant stand listening to the«hipsters» talk about what completely shitty Windsor band is playing at the completely shitty Windsor pub tonight and how drunk they got last night which is pretty much the tale I hear every time I go in the place. My mom left once because she waited and waited for the owner to stop talking so she could ask a question. But he wouldn’t stop talking about meat, London and some guy at a special door.

When I moved to Windsor, I was excited about being able to buy records in Detroit. I had no idea that a store like Dr. Disc would exist this side of the border. Now I haven’t bought CDs or DVDs in years, but I do still buy vinyl. I was very impressed by their new vinyl selection; lots of recent releases and represses. Obviously they’re not going to be cheap, but certainly competitive prices. I will definitely be returning!

This place has some funky-ass shit! Retro at its best, all kinds of vinyl, cheap movie DVD selections — $ 2, $ 3, $ 6… New and old music for all taste. Fun things for the collector; saw a U2 mug from the War album, and even saw some Metallica dolls! Situated right in downtown Windsor — go get your fill people.

I really wish I had pictures of this store because the amount of records they have on the wall is really impressive. They pretty much have every Bright Eyes CD ever released, as well as BOTH Amy Winehouse records and a rare Depeche Mode box set that my fiancé has been coveting for years; that is to say that their collection is expansive and wonderful. The staff are friendly, laid back, and informative. Downtown Windsor, park on the street or a parking lot two blocks over.
