Thanasis Greek Restaurant

Me, my family and my friends love it here! I have been to this restaurant many times over the last 12 years. First I’d like to say it’s very very beautiful inside, a wonderful choice for birthday parties or other special dinners. You would be surprised from the outside how lovely it is inside.
Second, the food is amazing. The menu is very authentic and diverse and the prices are affordable. They have delicious lemon rice soup and my friend loves their trio of Greek dips with bread, especially the eggplant one.
This is a great place for lunch as well, they have something called the perfect lunch and it’s a delicious skewer of chicken breast and a big Greek salad.
For dinner I usually get the chicken skewer meal and it comes with rice, potatoes and green beans. We always order flaming cheese! Last time I was there I tried moussaka for the first time and it was very tasty.
If you are looking for a pretty restaurant to go on a date or relax with a friend this is a nice place with great food and service.

I’ll be the first one to admit, I am writing this review while I am angry.
While Thanasis has the best moussaka I may have ever had, they also have given me some of the worst lamb chops I may have ever had. In my opinion the food is okay.
But the quality of the food is not what has pushed this restaurant of of my list…
I cannot recommend or support a restaurant that, sees you coming, and then locks the doors IN YOUR FACE on a Friday night.
My family and I arrived at Thanasis at 9:45pm after confirming that the restaurant was open until 10pm.
As we walked to the front door, one of the staff, ran out into the atrium to lock the door, unplug the open sign, and then ran back in so as not to face my angry shouts.
RIDICULOUS!!!
If you don’t want people to come in and pay you for the service you provide…
then please, you should close your business and stop jerking people around.
If you are Windsor, and looking for Greek food, pay the toll and head across the border to Detroit, go to Pegasus Taverna.
They will not close you out.

I just recently re-​visited this restaurant after close to 10 years and was very happy to find that the food quality had not changed. Very nice atmosphere, friendly service and a large menu with lots of options to choose from. They offer good value for your money and if you love greek food, you need to check it out!

I have been to this place a number of times over the years and just noticed it has never been reviewed. Today my mother and I stopped in for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere has not changed and the food was delicious. We shared a saganaki and each had the perfect lunch. For $ 12 you get a greek salad with rice and a chicken kabob. The chicken was tender and delicious. The restaurant was full and everyone seem to be enjoying their meals I would highly recommend checking them out.
