I have my favourite sushi places so when my sister said she wanted to go to the place with the faded sign, I was underwhelmed with the idea. BUT I was wrong. Nestled in this unassuming strip mall beside Five Guys was a charming romantic sushi restaurant. The service was great, the lighting and seating; very calming and the food was excellent. I had to stop myself from going alone the day after for a repeat. I know where I will go for a quiet solo meal when I get a moment to jump off the Mom train.

Very unpleasant place:
1. The waitress forgot about us (there were one other group of people in the restaurant).
2. Apparently, not everyone should be allowed to serve sushi. The rice was undercooked. It was gross.
3. The sushi was not fresh at all.
Won’t be going back to this place.

The usual variety of rolls and sushi mixed with a lot of cooked items. Not a quality sushi place but the service is good and seating is nice. Cuts of fish are very small. Will not come back.

Excellent service and decent enough sushi for a strip mall hidden from the Regent strip. A few items lacked the freshness of a high end sushi joint, but if you have a hankering for some rolls go for it.
The ambience and decorations certainly added to the experience. Just wish the food matched the service and traditional Japanese feel of the restaurant.

Went in on a whim. Very impressed. I travel all over Canada and the US, and have tried sushi in a lot of places, especially Vancouver. Sato is one of my new favourites.
They have a new menu with some specialty rolls that all look fabulous.
I had the Grand Canyon and it was awesome.
The Unagi and Tobiko were also very fresh.
Great service too.
