Sunday lunchtime… very quiet. Tables full with people studying. I ordered the Smokin Jack sandwich. They were out of sourdough; I was asked if I wanted my sandwich on roll, panini, or wrap. I asked for a panini and it came as a wrap. The Caesar salad was good, but the sandwich was forgettable. Spending one week in town; I wont come back.

Terrible service! Ordered a coffee and a heated cinnamon bun. After a while I went up twice to get the bun and told them ’ I have waited an hour for this bun’. Their reply was ‘no it has been 50 minutes’. Hard to believe!

Been ages since I made it by here, good location, but in the end average service with average food gets an average rating. Yes we will likely make it make another day.

Pretty good spot, been here two times to far to have some coffee and work on projects with friends. The décor is reminiscent of what I’d think early Seattle coffee shops might look like, basically a toned down vision of Fraser Crane’s apartment — art deco and medium dark wood. The service is decent. I went in two times within three days and they didn’t seem to acknowledge that I started going there. Some Winnipeg coffee shops are really nice in that way. There coffee is decent, although they do serve Black Pearl, which I’d been meaning to try. Their sandwiches are gleefully named, but underwhelming, and a bit expensive. I got the ‘curry’ sandwich? There wasn’t much curry about it, but it was a decent sandwich. So yeah, pretty decent place. If I worked near by I might go here.

Great coffee house, which makes a mean Café Mocha — their Caesar Salads are amazing, as are their sandwiches!

The Fyxx has great selection of sandwiches on interesting breads — not to mention cute names for all of them. The godfather is my person fav, along with their made fresh to order Caesar salad — one of the best in town actually! Check them out for lunch, they won’t disappoint.

Rip. Off. I ordered a tea with 2 bags and was charged nearly $ 5. I politely said, «Are you sure that’s right? Most places just charge another 50 cents or so for the extra bag.» They assured me this was the correct price and asked if I still wanted it. In hindsight, I wish I had just walked out and gone to Starbucks across the street. I wanted to support a local business rather than a corporation but the whole point behind that is to support people who care about their customers rather than see us as a profit margin. I won’t make that mistake in this café again when I’m in Winnipeg.

It’s a nice sunny spot meeting spot for lunch since it’s located at the corner of Broadway and Donald. There’s free wi-fi, smattering of people having light conversation and people working on their laptops. You order and pay first, then the staff brings you your food. The food is nice and light and runs about $ 10 for a lunch meal, not including beverages. I like their salads and have two favourite sandwiches. «Basil’s faulty tower» has big chucks of real chicken and basil so it’s a nice light sandwich(though not super flavourful). «Hercules» is another fave because it packs a lot of flavour, it has genoa salami, feta, spinach, tomatoes, red onion and a spicy mayo served on a panini. All their sandwiches come with either the soup special or salad(market or caesar). I like the caesar salad here, it’s had good flavour without being overly garlicky. Can’t comment on their coffee as I only come here for lunch! Staff are nice here but I have to say I wish they had more comfortable chairs here. Note: speed of service can be hit or miss… sometimes it’s decent, but more often than not the assembly of sandwiches can be so slow during the work week lunch hour. No one really orders too many fancy drinks at lunch so I have no clue what’s slowing them down at times.
