Thank goodness for Unilocal.A coworker an I were in Woodstock for a work visit and decided to get some food. The only thing open at 10:30 in the morning was Tim Hortons and this spot, which on the other side of the highway from the chain restaurants. In fact, it’s easy to miss as it’s nestled along with homes. This is a hell of a place for breakfast. I had to get the Sausage and Shrooms: 2 pieces of sausage wrapped in honey glazed bacon on a bed of sautéed mushrooms on rye toast. Served with 2 poached eggs and hollandaise. What? WHAT!!! First of all: the hollandaise is made from scratch. The ingredients according to the server were butter, water and egg yolks. I could have drank this stuff. I would have died right after, but what a way to go! Every single piece of this meal was delicious. The bacon is apparently a specialty and is thick cut and delicious. My coworker had a relatively simple dish of just poached eggs on toast, and even she said that was incredible. She wanted those eggs runny and they were runny! Service was very friendly and everything came up pretty quickly. Prices were good considering the portions. The restaurant also has a neat gift shop attached to it with all sorts of cool knickknacks. My coworker bought a beautiful purse. I bought my friend socks with bacon designs on it. We will definitely head there again next time we’re in town.

I often leave the restaurant underwhelmed and feeling like I was overcharged. I understand that they are trying be an upper scale breakfast restaurant, but the food just falls short. The pancakes are excellent on their own. Ordering anything with fruit typically gets you thawed out fruit and berries(and one time they weren’t even thawed).

As we were coming from out of town I had found this restaurant the night before and got quite excited. Thanks Unilocal! The décor outside was quite quaint and it re-assured me that this was an upscale breakfast place. Upon entering we were greeted and sat, The décor of the room we were sat in felt like a grandmas house. Really old décor, frilly, pink and the bathroom! It felt like a time machine. That being said it was clean as a whistle. We did have a nice seat looking out the window onto the front entrance way. It was quite nice. The menu was quite large and had many mouth watering dishes. I chose a classic mushroom and swiss eggs Benedict and my guest had a peameal Benedict. After about a 15 – 20 minute wait our bennys came out. They were over cooked hard boiled eggs. The servers are very sparse so eventually we were able to send it back. It was a real disappointment especially as this is ONLY a breakfast restaurant. It almost seemed like our food was sitting under a heating lamp and should’ve been served to us much sooner. Another 10 – 15 minutes pass and we get our fresh bennys. They were delicious! Hollandaise to die for. Hot, fresh and delicious, I could’ve ordered another. Although my problem was remedied the service is not worth the price and actually quite disappointing. We were here for about an hour and a half and not once did anyone come by to refill water or offer a fresh soda. Most of the servers looked disgruntled and angry. I felt they could’ve done a much better job. When we went to pay i found a ’ gaggle” of servers(if you will) just standing in a group laughing and talking! Must be a good job for them. After our meal we went a took a look around the gift shop and the rest of the rooms in the restaurant. They have some really neat themes in the other rooms, which I found to be a little more«hip» and beautiful. The gift shop was cute too, had some neat items, All in all I would love to come back. There are many other menu items I would like to try and the prices are reasonable. Unfortunately I would hesitate due to the poor service.

We visited Dean Michael’s recently while in town for a family reunion — and I absolutely loved everything about it! I dare say the mushroom omelette was the best I’ve ever had… and the other 10 people in my party had similar rave reviews of their food — which meant the quaint décor, adorable gift shop, and friendly service were all icing on the cake. I’m looking forward to going back!

This is my favourite breakfast location in Woodstock! They offer a good variety of breakfasts, and they make great poached eggs, and their coffee is good.

Great atmosphere and delicious breakfasts that cater to all tastes. The wait staff are very accommodating and allowed us to eat in the closed section of the restaurant where is was quieter when we asked to move. My one complaint would be that they serve orange juice from concentrate. I would think that a restaurant that exclusively serves breakfast could go the extra mile in this respect. I would have given this restaurant 5 stars but for that.

A fantastic breakfast prepared by a chef who loves what he does! Done very tastefully, does NOT Americanize the food with«foodie» over seasoning. Love it!
