First time going was Unilocaler gathering! Yeah. I seldom go to Bangsar area because the parking issue. If you know the place, you will know how bad is the parking issue. Hmmmmm… Chilling with Unilocalers at the upstair bar. Since it was an afternoon, we are the only group of people there. We played games and had some pizza~ Food was delicious and service was great! It worth a go. Wondering how will it be at night. Shall check out one day.

La bodega is my favourite place for tapas food! They have this dish where the boneless chopped up chicken drowned in olive oil and bits of chopped chili. The prawns covered in a type of sambal is nice and the potato bravas! The coffee is also good but I prefer the one in telawi for some reason their coffee tastes better like the hazelnut latte!

I first set foot in this branch of La Bodega almost ten years ago. I have loved the food here ever since. I never knew Tapas until I ate here and I love the concept of sharing plates. I mean, when I go out with friends or my husband, we tend to share our food anyway so the concept of small sharing plates is great. They serve their Tapas from noon onwards so if you come too early you still have to order from their breakfast menu. This happened to me twice and I was slightly disappointed as I had been craving their Tapas. But worry not, they have decent breakfasts as well. I alway get their Eggs Benedict where I find the eggs packed nicely. On the rare occasions where I feel like I could eat a horse, I order their signature Big Breakfast. For the Tapas, my husband and I usually order 3 – 4 dishes(depending on how hungry we are at the time) and gorge ourselves silly on the endless complimentary bread. We love the Patatas Fritas Con Aioli(Potato Wedges with Aioli), Salchichas Al Diablo(Spicy Chicken Sausages), Pollo al Ajillo Picante(chicken in olive oil, garlic and chilli) and Chuletas De Cordero a la Parilla(Lamb Cutlets). Service is pretty fast and staff are friendly.

La Bodega is the first thing that comes to mind when Im craving Spanish food. They have an amazing range of tapas dishes on offer and the ones that stood out for me were the tiger prawns and mushrooms in a special creamy sauce. You get served bread and the condiments(olive oil) to start with and I usually ask for more bread later on to dip and eat with the tapas dishes because they go so well with bread! Ambience is cosy and almost romantic — dimly lit with soft background music. There is also a bar at the entrance where you can chill with friends and order some drinks. Their sticky toffee pudding is also excellent and was the right amount of softness and sweetness in one. Their Mediterranean style seafood soup was also very tasty but a little too salty for my liking — however my colleague sure enjoyed it! Keep a lookout for their promotions which happen almost every month. Service was impeccable. We had a female waitress who was attentive and efficient when we asked for more water to fill our glasses. We also asked for recommendations and she was very knowledgable in that regard. If you have a medium sized appetite like me, expect to pay around 50RM per head excluding drinks, for a satisfying meal. Certainly recommend La Bodega as the place to be if you’re after some Spanish cuisine!

La Bodega is definitely one of my usual hang out place for the weekend to have a good breakfast in the morning. I enjoy their Big Breakfast very much, which includes beef bacon, sausage, baked beans, mushrooms, scrambled eggs(or omelette, poached etc, up to you), baked tomatoes and a toast bread, and it costs about MYR22 – 25(can’t remember the exact amount) which is pretty decent. With the additional MYR10, you may add on a cup of coffee/tea and a glass of juice. I do drop by to La Bodega during the weekday, Thursday to be specific, as it is a lady’s night and it offers free flow of beer and wine for ladies! It’s a very good hang out place with friends either to have a good breakfast and chit chat, or to have a drink to catch up at night.

Imagine yourself walking down a small and narrow street. The pavement is rocky, the buildings around you are made of rock, the air is heavy and hot but somewhere nearby, the music invites you to join whatever is going on there. The closer you get the louder the music gets, you can hear loud laughter and a group of people talking and having a great time. You get even more excite, you are almost there, you can feel the smell of wine and baked bread and you speed up your pace. Everything is so loud around you that you feel like running to finally reach your destination. You turn around the corner and there it is. This long narrow street full of bars, restaurants, music and people having drinks and enjoying themselves. You have made it! You look around and spot your friends nearby so you walk toward them and before you reach their table a handsome dark hair man says: Señorita esta buscando a alguien? This is what La Bodega reminds me of :) A great night in Spain. The music, the food, the wine, all is great here. It is a very popular spot for hang outs where you get to enjoy Tapas, wine, pizza or anything else on the menu that catches your eye. I have been here a few times and I must say I quite enjoy it. It feels like I can transport myself in Europe for a moment. So do take your friends and go enjoy yourself. You deserve it. Bön Appétit

So after a long time, i finally manage to catch up with my group of close friends since assignments and work has been keeping us apart. Although I was a little late, they decided to meet up at this restaurant. When I arrived they were already enjoying the seafood paella. I asked them how did it taste, they do enjoy it especially the clamps but they had to wait a quite some time for them to prepare the dish. I ordered myself the chicken croquettes dish. It really taste good. Crispy on the outside and cheesy with a the taste of chicken on the inside. Although it really cant beat the ones I had at Barcelona but I have to give credit to them it actually taste good. The ambience of the place does not really bring back my spanish atmosphere reminiscence instead it feels like I am at bar with a fire dancer about to get it on the stage. Overall, the food was good, the ambience was a little off but still good. The only thing i was a little disappointed is the price of the dish which was a little pricy.

If it’s Wednesday, it’s La’ Bodega. Girls Night Out is the perfect time to go here. If you are a girl, you will get for a couple of hours free wine and if you are a guy you can meet very nice girls. But what I really like about this place is: they have 2POOLTABLES which is amazing. I love playing pool, and since I discovered the place I go there very often. The second reason why I love this place, is the food. They have delicious and sophisticated food for a nice price. The music is also good, giving a relaxing atmosphere. They have 3 outlets in Bangsar, one near each other: La Bodega Deli, Tapas and Lounge. There is no difference between them regarding the menu, price or atmosphere.

I love going to La Bodega(Jalan Telawi) on Thursday nights because it is Ladies’ night and that means a free flow of wine and the perfect way to unwind. Also, this brings in a lot of people and it ends up being a place where you bump into old friends who end up catching up. Besides that, I really enjoy their tapas. There a both cold and warm options when it comes to the types of tapas they serve. My favorite is their Champinones Al Ajillo which is basically mushrooms in olive oil and garlic. La Bodega is a little more on the pricey side. And as for parking, you can park in Bangsar Village 2 and walk up to the restaurant or you can park along the street.

La Bodega is definitely one of my usual haunts on weekdays as they serve up a mean seafood paella. Most week nights, the place is teeming with a slightly older crowd, people straight from work looking for a little wind down. My favourite part I must say are Thursday nights here as it’s Ladies Night. There is a free flow of white wine, red wine and my personal favourite the Sangria. Bartenders are very friendly and might even give you a taste of the wines not included for the Ladies Night special. Be warned though, the crowd can be extremely packed and tables are nearly impossible to come by until the crown thins out a little when the promo ends at 10pm. A good idea would be to come earlier and have dinner in La Bodega before free flows commence to ensure you get a table.

I don’t know any other restaurant that has managed to make a chain out of Spanish cuisine in Malaysia as well as La Bodega. Long standing since I was in secondary school, the La Bodega branch in Bangsar is the only one I keep going to. A must try is their seafood paella. They say good thing come to those who wait. I think this applies to their paella, which you would have to wait for about 30 minutes. But it is well worth it. Generous with their ingredients, you might find it difficult finishing this by yourself. That is why it is a great dish to share with friend along with some tapas. Featuring all kinds of events and promotions throughout the year, the one I keep looking forward to is Thursday’s Ladies Night. I don’t know anything that is more enjoyable than helping yourself to free wine.

This is the place for a night out in Bangsar! Although it’s quite dead during the week, the weekends are pretty busy and it is a good opportunity to meet new people at a very cool spanish bar. The food is a little overpriced in my opinion, but the wine is nice(and free for the ladies on thursdays). The ambiance is quite nice, with very comfortable seating upstairs and pool tables, and a nice space downstairs too. The place gets very crowded on ladies night, so, if you are planning to go, I’d advise getting food somewhere else in Bangsar(like Antipodean, which is one door down) or you might end up paying more than you should and waiting a long time for the food.

My first visit to La Bodega was for a Wine event. We did some food pairing, and I thought the food at La Bodega was pretty good. So, when Joe and I was stuck in the traffic jam near Bangsar, we decided to feed ourselves with some Spanish food. The restaurant has 3 sections: outdoor, indoor and a lounge on the 1st floor. When we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly servers. I like it a lot! I mean, wouldn’t you want to be treated nicely at a restaurant or after a hard day of work? I don’t think anybody would enjoy themselves in an eatery with servers who have attitude issues. Being a Spanish restaurant, they have quite a selections of tapas and a few mains on their menu. I ordered their Chili Linguine Aglio Olio(RM28), and it’s pretty. The linguine was al dente, the cobia fish was nice and flaky. Also, I like the bits of preserved lemon that were added into the dish — it was very refreshing. Joe was having some burger cravings that night, so he opted for the La Bodega’s Famous Cheese Burger(RM33). I took a bite at the beef patty — juicy and flavourful. Totally awesome! However, I was a bit disappointed with the fries as I was looking forward to some fat fries. Remember I mentioned earlier I went to La Bodega and did some wine and food pairing? Ever since then I was totally hooked on the Pulpo a la Gallega(RM75) — Spanish octopus with potatoes, paprika and extra virgin olive oil. The octopus was packed with flavours and cooked to perfection. I wanted to order this during my second visit, but frankly, the price was a bit expensive. If you love lamb, then I’ll recommend Albondigas Saint Climent — lamb meatballs in a rich brandy sauce. The meatballs were succulent and gamey, and the sauce was perfect to dip with bread. If you are going in a big group, then try out the paella especially the ones with squid ink. It’s delicious, but you need to give the kitchen about 30 minutes to prepare the dish. They offer breakfast and sandwiches too. Although the pricing is not cheap, but it’s a nice place to hang out with friends over some delicious dishes. After all, they have a wide selections of tapas and it’s perfect to be shared.

It was a scorching hot day and I was in dire need of a pint to cool my system with before I tragically whither and die. Too dramatic you say? Try walking at 3pm in Bangsar, looking for an impossible-to-find bridesmaid dress with your cousin and in fabulous new shoes you just bought that pinched your ankles. I was a hot ballerina, tip-toeing my way to the nearest chair. La Bodega was our savior and we plopped our shopping bags and ourselves and took a nice, big, cool, air-conditioned breath. I’ve been here a few times and mostly during the day, its one of the few places you could sit inside the air-conditioning and still have a ciggie, I would bet on smoking outside in the heat. This place has always been special to me with endless birthday parties, gatherings, dates, short lunches and never-ending dinners. Always fun to be here. You just have to get past the manic parking situation in Bangsar(I just valet or basement-park at BV2) but other than that, this place is the bomb. The food it delicious, the place is cute, the staff is attentive and fast and the toilet is 20 feet away(you’ll learn to appreciate that fact after a few pints!)

This is a perfect Spanish restaurant where you can get delicious Tapas and amazing Vine! They have spaces outside and inside(2 floors) and it is very interesting to see that design of each space is completely different. Downstairs they have a classy lounge, while upstairs it’s a bar where often you can see a DJ playing, pool table and just smoky dimmed light atmosphere. Thursdays from 9pm-22pm they have ladies night, where each girl can have a flow of wine. Definitely a place that is worth as visit!
