Check your sheets!!! When we arrived at the resort we got checked in and were escorted to our room to find that the«Junior Suite Ocean View King» room we paid for was not only the cheapest room they have to offer but they fail to mention that the ocean is visible but only barely and having to look over a hill in a desert, golf course dilapidated homes and broken down construction equipment. I called the front desk and told them that we were not happy with our room and they said they could 1. Move us to a room that was on a higher floor 2. Offer us a room closer to the ocean for an additional price I asked if they could come get us and if we could look at what the options were in person. The room on the higher floor does give a better view of the ocean but also a better view of the above mentioned obstructions. They drove us to the«Ocean Front» rooms and they were much better so we went back to the front desk and that is when we found out to stay in one of these rooms was going to cost 20,218.96 pesos $ 1282.24 but only had a room on the 2nd floor the 1st floor room with a swim up pool wasn’t available until the next day. At this point we were already tired from traveling and had been there for a couple of hours so we agreed to pay the upgrade price and move twice. We stayed on the room on the second floor the first night and it was fine the next day we were informed the bottom floor would be ready for us after 3pm so we went on with our day. At 3:30 pm we went to see if our room was ready and they told us it was so we had them come and give us our keys and we moved to the room on the bottom floor room #8112 it was exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed some time in the pool then showered and went to dinner. When we got back to the room some of the neighbors were out so we met them and sat outside and enjoyed some drinks with them. We decided to go to bet about 11:30 pm and when we pulled back the sheets go gen in bed this we found that the sheets were never changed and whoever was sleeping in the bed before was having her menstrual cycle and there was blood all over the sheets i have the pictures to prove it and we called the neighbors in to look at as well in case the hotel tried to blame us. Needless to say we were disgusted and called the concierge and told them what we found and they sent two people over to change the sheets and I asked that the towels be changed as well and the returned with«clean» towels as well. So after paying the $ 1200 dollars the sheets weren’t even changed? The next day I did receive a call from the concierge and he said he understood we had an issue the night before and was asking me if I was sure the blood was there or if it came from us and I assured him it wasn’t and even told him he could ask the neighbors they saw it too. He said he would write a report and that he would give us a 15% discount and that I would have to sign a document before I checked out to receive the discount. To our surprise our adult children ordered us a bottle of tequila to enjoy for our birthdays we took a picture of the gift(below) When we returned home and shared the pictures with them we found out that was not the bottle they ordered for us the bottle they ordered and paid for was much better and more expensive than the one that was delivered. The whole time we were there they told us that they had something special planned for us on our birthdays(both my wife and I share the same birthday) and I know I did not pay for anything and they did nothing but if I had known they weren’t going to do anything I would have planned and paid for a romantic dinner for us or something off site in a restaurant as it was my wife’s 50th and I wanted to do something special for her. That being said and the way this property is marketed is misleading and we heard many complaints from those that were there that couldn’t afford to upgrade. These rooms are marketed as ocean view and although you can see the ocean(kind of) there will be unhappy clients be careful. The bar and restaurant staff were good the food is just OK the people from the tour company(Amstar I think) were very pushy I finally had to tell them to stop following us. Overall I would give this place a 3 – 10 and will not be returning for what we ended up paying we could have done much better. We have used AAA travel, Pleasant Holidays and stayed at Secrets resorts in the past and had a good experience that’s why we returned for this trip.
