Not what I’d expect from a JW. Pulling up to the hotel, it resembles a prison with dark walls and iron bars on the exterior road facing windows. *The rooms are poorly lit, the bathroom even worse. *we spent the first day at the pool and at 4:00 the room still had not been cleaned. When they finally did clean it, we were given only 2 clean bath towels yet we had 4 people in our room. * Multiple pools? Yes but the only one worth sitting at with our three teenagers was the lowest level one in front of the breakfast restaurant… where we had a great view of a sand berm ?? Looks to have been put there on purpose as it has freshly planted plants but why block the view of the ocean? What’s the point of it being an infinity pool? There is one decent size pool with a view but it’s adults only. And there is jazz music playing at all times and too loud to be blocked out with your own headphones. *To get to the restrooms from the lowest level pools, you have to go upstairs and immediately back down the same amount of stairs only to get to a dark hallway and then strain to see which is men’s and which one is women’s. *Check out took far longer than it should as it is still old school. Would expect digital checkout for such a new high end hotel. * food was mediocre and overpriced for the«quality». Everything we had seemed to be over cooked, including a BLT * extremely industrial in appearance. Lots of large imposing walls everywhere. Probably best for large conferences. Would definitely not recommend for a family vacation.

Ultra modern architecture. Very urbane American style. Instead of one large pool, there are lots of smaller pools with ocean views on different levels. Each is cozy and has its own waterfall sounds because the beach is two levels below the hotel and far enough away so that the ocean can’t be heard. Every thing is new. This is the place to come to escape the noise of the city and have a quiet day at the beach. It’s not a party scene. The lower rating is because the rates are higher than for comparable Marriott properties.

This is a review of my check in and first look at the staff and hotel amenities The hotel staff said that this is not a full inclusive hotel. Very disappointed with that as it would be the only hotel on the beach strip that was not. This hotel should automatically provide inclusive package deals for all flight crews as the other hotels do. Check in was pretty fast, they were using Apple computers so this made me even happier. As a Apple developer I am more impressed. The staff was great so far. Was escorted to room and was given a complete tour of the room and all the amenities the patio was outstanding and the lighting is so far wonderful. Everything works and is labeled good. The staff needs to be able to understand English a little more but I do understand that I am in another country so speaking their language would be a good idea. Another review will follow this one on my check out experience

My two colleagues and I stay over 100 nights on the road all over the world, we were looking forward to our stay at the JW Marriott Los Cabos over the holidays having staying at many International properties. Paying over $ 900.00 a night in Cabo you should expect perfection, unfortunately the JW Marriott did not come anywhere close. Not only did we have major problems with the air conditioning, coolest we could get our room the first night was 26 Celsius, after arguing with the manager that I was looking at the inside temperature and not the outside they finally sent a maintenance person to fixed it, after they left water started to pour from the ceiling. I contacted the manager again, after requesting twice for a different room and requesting to be upgraded, we finally were given a ocean front room with two doubles instead of a king as was on our original reservation. Some of the staff were amazing and helpful such as the restaurant waitstaff and the Valet supervisor, Arturo(?) while others stood around and were very slow and inefficient. It took over an hour to check in and the male receptionist would not address me, only my husband who flew down to join me on my trip, I corrected him three times that I was the name on the room and my husband needed to be added on, frustrating! It took over 40 minutes and two calls to receive a bottle opener and extra towels. A few times when trying to call a“at your service” the call would not be answered. The reception staff got in a loud argument in front of my colleague when he was exchanging money. We left at 0900 and returned at 1530 to find our room had not been serviced, the hotel was only at 40% occupancy and full staff that day. Limited in room information on property amenities, no map or restaurant hours. $ 2.00 a nesspresso pod or tea bag. Was told after departure that two pods were included per day, did not see that listed anywhere. The advertised oversized tub was very small, anyone over 5ft 2″ would not be comfortable. The hotel is brand new and is very modern, beautiful pools and grass areas. Rooms and spa were very dark and cavernous. Unfortunately, some of the panels covering vent shafts were not secure as shown in pictures included and posed a hazard to children who could easily fall down the four stories to the bottom. I notified the manager, Oscar and still nothing was done. The dates and times on the phones were not accurate. The property definitely needs some fine tuning before they charge so much. Bring in trainers from other JWs and retrain the staff.

This has unfortunately been the worst service our family of 9 has experienced during our stay at theJW Marriott. I have had Elite Platinum status and stay 100 nights a year at Marriott Hotels. The service has got worse each day of our stay and we have paid a fortune to stay here. There are 100 better options to stay while visiting Cabo San Lucas. This is actually the first review I have written, this is how furious we have been.

Not ready for prime time. Not quite Fairfield Inn level in a JW facility. The hotel facility is magnificent. 11 pools magnificent beach. Spectacular grounds. The rooms are beautiful. So what’s broke: 1. Arduous checkin. Seems Apple computers don’t work with Marriott system. 30 minutes to checkin and we were only guests. 2. New phones in room nothing labeled yet with phone numbers to call front desk room service etc. 3. When we called for night turn down service staff didn’t know what we were asking for. Second attempt worked. 4. Bought a coffee in coffee shop staff member said I wasn’t in that room. I assured him I was. Problem goes back to checkin. 5. Check out was worse then check in. I think Marriott pulled trainers to fast from this gorgeous new facility. I hope they reconsider.

Loved this property. Will be back again soon. The view is amazing. The spa is fantastic. The pools are amazing. The restaurants are incredible. Was a little disappointed my platinum status did not give me any perks. But this location and this resort has become my favorite place to go. Staff was attentive but struggled with English.
