Food was good and location was easy walk from Playa Grande. We arrived here around 4:00pm after we checked into our hotel. They were just opening for the evening, the staff was all sitting around eating their meals. The waiter took our order, but our food took way too long to arrive. They fired up the grill about 10 mins after we ordered and had to wait for it to warm up before cooking. We were so hungry after our flight, we probably went through 4 bowls of chips and salsa before our food arrived. However the food was very good. Restaurant has great décor and staff was pretty friendly.

My husband and I came here on a Wednesday morning around 9:00AM. They weren’t open yet but the staff were kind enough to let us in and serve us food early. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with red sauce, very delicious. The food tastes very authentically Mexican. Cute décor. The staff are very attentive. I highly recommend.

The location and atmosphere are good, the food is average, but the price is way to high for the fare offered. There are much better options around that offer authentic food at a honest price!

Our favorite bartender, Juan Carlos, is always there with a smile and ready to offer us a tequila tasting. Great selection of tequilas. We often sit at the bar and have pico de gallo, guacamole, chips and salsa. All made from scratch and wonderful. The margaritas are fabulous and it’s a great setting. With seating open to the street it is both warm and welcoming. We’ve eaten our way through the menu over the last few years. One of our favorite places in Cabo San Lucas.

A couple who has been coming to Cabo for 26 years recommended Pancho’s to us. They spoke so highly of it, we had to check it out, and it didn’t disappoint! We were there pretty early — around 5 – 5:30 for dinner and it wasn’t packed. The mariachi band hadn’t started yet, so if you want to see them go a bit later. The service was great! They have a HUGE selection of tequila and the chef grills the food right in front of you! We ordered the sopes app, the snapper, and an entrée with chicken, steak and ribs. All of the food was great but the sopes and red snapper were our favorite! The margaritas were good, but strong! Some people said that this place was pricey, but I really didn’t think so. Our meal with drinks and an appetizer was about $ 85USD. We paid in Pesos which gives you a discount. Overall, we would definitely recommend Pancho’s if you are looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant or tequila tasting.

The most amazing queso fundido(on the menu it’s queso nevado) topped with fresh chorizo and served with handmade fresh flour tortillas. We split the fish tacos which were good. Great little local spot.

Jose Anguiano is the head Bartender & will provide an excellent education on tequila & mescal regions and various production methods used, of course with a sample of each and food pairing suggestions.($ 65.00US Ea) takes about an hour. The food is traditional Mexican & also very good quality.

Really good sopes, chips, and salsa. The food is very authentic and the environment follows suit nicely. There are great pictures of influential people in the Mexican culture on the wall that makes for a nice view. Their margaritas pack a punch, but are tasty. Good place to get some authentic Mexican grub.

Took a taxi to this place from Riu Sante Fe. Great service, amazing cocktails, and authentic Mexican food. They also accept the Passport card, so you can get a discount on your meal. I also enjoyed the bright, festive colors that embodied the restaurant.

I love this festive, clean, airy, outdoor-indoor, tequila-adorned, Pancho Villa-themed place, even though I get the poopies almost every time I go. I don’t know if it’s because they are very generous and attentive with delicious iced tea refills(maybe it’s the water? I must drink 64 ounces) or if it’s because the red pepper salsa is so good that I basically drink it. I always get the machaca– it is so good and a great value. I like Pancho’s so much I’ve even bought a shirt and a cap… they’ve come in handy when I can’t make it to the bathroom!

Okay, while the big push was to leave a review on TripAdvisor, I’m going to go ahead and do one for us Unilocalers. Pancho’s is good. The service is excellent and the food tasty. Here’s the breakdown of what we ordered: Margaritas: a tad expensive at almost seven bucks a pop but strong and big Water: Yeah, specify the Nestle, which is the cheaper one, otherwise you get Fiji, which is obviously more expensive Guacamole: Good flavor and a lot Pescado Diablo: Excellent fish dish Green enchiladas: Savory green sauce and a large portion Tequila tasting: This is expensive at almost $ 37 but is fun if you want a nice overview of good tequilas This place is not cheap but is better than many of the hotel restaurants and much more authentic. It’s an easy walk from the Marina and easy to find. Our waiter, Jose, was jovial and a great host. Pay in pesos or charge in pesos – you will always get a better exchange rate.

Being that my wife and I are big tequila drinkers I surprised here with a tequila tasting at Pancho’s. You can make a reservation for that online and when I made the reservation there were three tiers of tasting starting at $ 35 for the lower end tequilas and going to $ 55 for the premium tasting. I went with the $ 55 flights and was presently surprised upon arriving. Jose, who was leading our tasting said he’ll give us the $ 45 tasting because it was better than just sampling the different ages of El Herradura. We started off by learning about the distillation process and the differences between distilling tequila vs. mezcal. Then we were treated to a delicious taste of none 100% agave tequila, if you have tasted straight Jose Cuervo before, you know how smooth that can be. We then tried the house mezcal which was much more smokey than tequila. We tried multiple types of tequila from blanco all the way up to a barrel aged tequila that was so smooth and beautifully Amber colored I could sipped on it all night. During the tasting we were introduced to Sangrita, which is pretty much a Bloody Mary with tequila, but Pancho’s made there mix from scratch. My wife loved it since she is a big fan of bloody Mary’s. After the tasting was over we decided we’d stay for dinner, and I had the Camerones Diablo which is shrimp served with a spicy cream sauce. As someone who is very not big on fish and cream sauce I tried on the recommendation of Jose. It was fantastic, I actually will have days were I start thinking it would be perfect for dinner. Pancho’s is a great place and if you like tequila definitely check it out for at least a drink, the wall of tequila behind the bar is impressive.

This place has amazing burritos, and obviously very good chips and guacamole! JJ is the best waiter and is very good at keeping up on drink refills and staying on top of things. Very authentic Mexican food and worth a try!

On the recommendation of a local jeweler, Diane and I stopped in here mid-cruise for a sumptuous and authentic Mexican lunch – and that was exactly what we received. For appetizers, Nachos con Queso and an order of guacamole produced an abundance of homemade tortilla chips: some plain to dip into the tasty smooth guac, and others layered with melted cheese. Slivered Jalapeño Peppers, salsa, and two types of hot sauce were also presented in small metal containers to further adorn the chips. Then I enjoyed a combination plate consisting of a thin Shredded Beef Burrito, a thin Bean Burrito, rice and refritos, along with an added crispy Shredded Beef Taco in the shape of a Taquito. Everything was very tasty, and servers aimed to please in the colorful casual setting. Meanwhile, Diane enjoyed a fairly large Quesadilla with a lot of shrimp but not that much Oaxacan Cheese. My only gripe is that I actually ordered Nachos that were supposed to include Arrachera Beef, and when the plain Bean & Cheese Nachos arrived, had to wonder«Where’s the beef?» Either my server or the cook forgot to add the meat, but the Nachos were very tasty anyway, and I was properly charged for the food I received. A charge of $ 61.00 U.S. dollars for lunch for two seemed a bit steep, but I knew approximately what I would have to pay in advance; the popular restaurant and tequila bar is situated in the heart of Cabo’s tourist zone, and I saw on Unilocal that another diner had paid $ 60 for just one Shrimp Cocktail somewhere else in town. So with all of the good food we consumed, I felt that I was getting off easy. I could have eaten on the ship for free, but sampling some local flavor was well worth the diversion and local dining experience. Some day I will likely return!

We stopped into Ponchos after dinner one night in hopes of Tequila tasting. It was recommended by a couple we met. We popped over and at the time they were busy and welcomed us back another time in our stay for the full tasting. Let’s say, their selection is impressive and they know their stuff — you must stop in! As far as dinner goes, the food was authentic and good. We tried the famous combination plate and a mix of tacos. The steak was seasoned well, the sauce on the enchiladas was great, the tortilla were fresh and the servings were generous. The service and atmosphere are great too! A big open space with some seating outside. An open grill in the middle of the place, happy and helpful staff. We’ll be back on our next trip!

I don’t travel to Mexico to drink Sammy Hagar’s tequila. No offense. But I can get all the Cabo Wabo I need here in the Estados Unidos. While Cabo is not the #1 agave aficionado’s destination in Mexico, it’s still a good place to try to score tastes of artisan, small-batch and otherwise unknown tequilas. At least unknown to us here in ‘Merica. And Pancho’s is the place to do that. The tequila selection here is the deepest I’ve ever seen. Tommy’s in SF could give this place a run for its money, but there are some spirits on the walls here that you simply can’t get stateside. The list is daunting, but if you cruise in during the off hours, you can probably bend the ear of the bartender and search out some novel finds. I made a trek here in search of mezcales, and I was rewarded with some very interesting selections. Quite a few artisan, small-batch(well, okay, a lot of mezcales are made in small batches) bottles that I had never seen at home. The bartender was great(even though admittedly not a mezcalier) at pointing me toward more obscure stuff, and pulling bottles down for me to check them out. The food we had here was minimal — just some guac/chips to pair with the spirits. The antique and ultra-rare tequila bottles hanging around the bar make for some intriguing eye-candy. There are even a bunch of off-limits tequilas that someone with a bankroll should try to unlock some day. For me, I like seeing a bit of history, and there were more unknown than known brands there, so it would take many visits for me to get to a point where I had tried all the available stuff. The space is large and airy — indoor/outdoor setup. It probably gets packed at night. So I suggest a happy hour spirits journey, followed by a trip to the local store to find some of those specialty bottles to take home. Happy drinking!
