Stumbled upon this place for tacos and cheap beers for the first meal I would have in Cabo, and boy did it set the bar very high. I had the al pastor tacos, and they were amazing. The goal in Cabo is to not get hosed from overpriced tourist traps, because the harbor area and surrounding corridor is abound with them, but don’t let the pushy restaurant manager or massage parlor on the second floor fool you, this place over-delivered when it came to service and food. I also got to try the shrimp and regular fish tacos from others in my group, and they were also very good. My group still raved about this place while on our trip! Would highly recommend for the chips, tacos, and beer specials.

We will never come here again after the awful and rude experience today… The staff lacks tact and manners. Shameful behavior by the staff, I wouldn’t recommend!

Not impressed with this place. A wood pallet floor and a make shift kitchen. The seafood and steak were ok and the butter tasted very blan. The Mojito drink was on a mint overload. $ 116 dollar bill. Much better places out in cabo.(Maro’s Shrimp)

Beware! This place way overcharged us. We knew the conversion rate and showed them. They acted like the didn’t know what we were dating and were shocked that every other place in Mexico had charged us by the accurate conversion. The excuse of I don’t know my boss said that’s what it is was used. Food was mediocre and a rip off. Burns me they think they can scam people. Numerous reviews online site the same thing and stolen credit cards! Go elsewhere.

Great restaurant & super find in Cabo. Loved the view of the beach. The ceviche was delicious & the smoked marlin tacos were very good. GREAT drink deals which kept us coming back. Good places to sit on the beach in shade or sit above the beach. Also massages on the top floor!

This is the best hang-out place ever. The Carnitas tacos were our favorite, but everything was great. Having a massage place upstairs is a pretty nice convenience too.

This review is for the massage upstairs. 1 hour for $ 32 usd or $ 400 pesos. Pay in pesos, with our exchange rate at the time it only cost $ 26 usd! That’s a steal for a good massage right on the beach. There are about 4 tables and no privacy dividers but everyone’s eyes are closed so who cares? They tend to get booked up sometimes a couple days in advance so go there early in your trip to make reservations.

Best place to sit back, relax, and enjoy being on Medano Beach. Given its proximity to Mango Deck, aka party central for those unfamiliar with Cabo, I thought it would be a lot louder and more obnoxious than it was. However, the atmosphere was very chill and relaxed. On top of that, the food here is delicious! I had the fish tacos and the boyfriend got the pastor quesadillas. While I wouldn’t rate the food five stars on its own, for being at a beach bar, wow! The piña coladas were super tasty too and actually tasted like something you’d want to drink instead of something intended to just mask the taste of alcohol. Throw in some awesome customer service and the Sand Bar easily wins as the best beach bar to grab a bite and unwind in Medano Beach.

Best restaurant on the beach, and possibly in all of Cabo. My wife and I had tried the Office and several other local restaurants during our vacation and we both agreed that the Sand Bar was easily the best. The food is fresh, cooked perfectly, nicely seasoned, and served by friendly staff. Every meal we had here was excellent. My favorite dish was the paella and my wife’s favorite was probably the coconut crusted fish. Both were delicious. Highly recommended!

Best food, best prices, best location(right on the beach) and best customer service! Here’s our story. My husband and I got lost walking back from town to our resort. As we headed down a narrow street making our way to the beach(knowing that if we at least made it to the beach we could find our way home.), we stumbled across a small restaurant called«The Sand Bar». A kind and friendly young man named«Marcello» greeted us. We asked if we could cut through the restaurant to get to the beach. He said«yes» and proceeded to escort us down to the beach. He asked if we were hungry. At the time we were not. He told us that we needed to come back on Sunday for a wonderful«paella» served only on Sunday’s. We made it back to the restaurant. From the moment we walked in we were treated with such importance you would’ve thought we were royalty. The gentleman sat us down. The waiter came. Another kind and friendly young man named«Trejo» took our order. We told him we were told to come and try the paella by Marcello. He said it was an excellent choice. As I stated from the moment we sat down everyone was so attentive. We never once had to pour our own water or beer. We were greeted by the owner, Dave”. My husband and I are from Seattle and are huge Seahawks fans. We were there the week before the Super Bowl. So we had Seahawks gear on. When Dave saw that we had Seahawks gear on he went and put on his Seahawks sweatshirt. He made us feel quite at home.(He probably has a Patriots one too. lol) we asked Trejo what else he recommended. He told us about the delicious clam chowder. He was so knowledgeable. He described how each menu item was prepared. We were so impressed! The clam chowder was delicious! I about fell out of my chair when the paella came. iT WASHUGE!!! It had everything from the sea, scallops, grilled seabass, octopus, squid, shrimp, clams, mussels, crab and then on top of that chicken and sausage. It could have easily fed four people! It was soooo good! The flavor was perfect and it was cooked just right. Obviously we were not able to finish it so we brought it back to the resort to enjoy for a midnight snack. We wanted to top it off with a good dessert and a drink. Trejo recommended their Mexican cheesecake and a drink made with Mexican liquor 43. We had the cheesecake put into a take out box but ITNEVERMADEITOUTOFTHERESTAURANT! It was warm and OHSOGOOD! We went back a second time and Marcello remembered us. He said Trejo and Dave had both mentioned us to him.(I think we kind of stood out because wear a mixed couple(I’m Japanese and my husband is Caucasian) we had another wonderful experience. This time we had Seafood ceviche and smoked marlin tostadas. YUMMY!!! This place brought a tear to my eye. Their sincerity to provide the best food and best customer is unbeatable! I have never and probably will never have such a great experience and we had at the Sand Bar. My husband and I plan to go back to Cabo next year and are looking forward to enjoying another great experience!

I always used to eat at the Office, which is still a great place, but the Sand Bar is like what the Office was 10 yrs ago. Casual, great food, service and prices. On the plane ride down, I sat next to a gal who’s been coming down to Cabo for 20 years, and this was one of her recommendations. On our list visit, it was the first place we ate after we landed, and was probably the best fish we ate all week. Tables are on the sand, overlooking beautiful Medano beach, and our girls played in the sand and waded in the water while we waited for our food. My husband and I shared a whole red snapper(about $ 200 – 250 pesos/$ 17 – 20US, depending on the size) and it was Amazing! We had a choice of sauces, and we chose ajllo(grilled red pepper, green pepper, garlic and onion), and the fish was SO flavorful and cooked perfectly. My mom had the sea bass fillet in a scampi sauce which was also excellent, one daughter had bean and cheese burrito(in homemade tortilla) — great, and the other had(of course) a cheeseburger — but it was a thick well-cooked burger, w/nice seasonings in the meat, including onion(which we liked, she didn’t). We happened to be there during Happy Hour, which is pretty easy to do, since it’s all-day long — 2 for 1 beers all day, domestic drinks 8 am to 5 pm, and«big drinks»(in big goblet) from 5 pm — 11 pm. Service was great and very friendly. Our server, Marcello was wonderful. If you’re in Cabo, check it out!
