I had the pleasure of staying next to this great restaurant for nearly a week and sampling many of the items that they offered. The first thing that I noticed was the care put into the sauces that were offered. There were three distinct hot sauces, all habanero based with which to dip your chips. All three had great flavor and heat and were offered before every meal along with a plate of home made guacamole. This made for a great appetizer. Also available were a tamarind sauce, three chili sauce and chipotle mayo sauce that were fantastic. I was able to try a ceviche dish that was extremely fresh with great flavor. I also tried some small tacos with your choice of different fillings. Ultimately I was able to try baby shark, manta ray, fish and shrimp. All of them had unique and great favors. One of my favorite dishes was the coconut shrimp. The coconut coating was exceptional and covered giant sized prawns that were cooked to perfection. Tender, plump and juicy. They coconut coating had just the right amount of crunch and was not too sweet. These were served with a sauce that had a slight citrus flavor that made the whole dish pop. I also had the fish tacos multiple times. The fish was battered and fried to a perfect crunch on the outside but the inside remained moist and delicious. They were served on a bed of cabbage with a drizzle of a few different sauces. You get three tacos on the plate. This is a great dish to cover with the signature homemade sauces that are offered. Lastly, I loved the plantains. They were fried and were offered sweet or savory. My favorite was the sweet served with a side of lechera which is a sweet thick cream. Fantastic. I ordered this with a side of local made coconut ice cream and talk about an amazing postre. The drinks were great as well. One of my go-to’s was the jicama drink. Non-alcoholic and refreshing. There were also a number of alcoholic selections as well. Over all, the place was a joy to eat at. If you have time and want a relaxing atmosphere and amazing fresh seafood choices, kioska verde is the place to go.

I love this place! I also stayed at the hotel owned by this family behind the restaurant, so I had the opportunity to eat here several times. I had the mixed seafood ceviche. Fresh and delicious. Fish tacos. My favorite dish there. They are fried in tempura and have a creamy chipotle sauce with some cabbage mix. Shrimp tacos. Super good. BBQ whole fish with cilantro marinade. That was amazing! Banana appetizer is very sweet, recommend as a desert. Coconut ice cream comes in a small single serving cup. Had chunks of coconut. Tried my boyfriends coconut shrimp. Very tasty, not overwhelmingly sweet like some can be. Also there salsas that are served with chips are hot but very good. Aguas frescas are homemade as are the corn tortillas and chips. Worth the wait, totally recommend to come try this little gem. Walking distance from the ferry to Isla Mujeres. North of the port.

This place is owned and operated by a true chef. Some of the best and most creative seafood that I’ve had on the whole planet! I highly recommend the cevieche.
