The carniceria(= butcher shop) is located on Lazaro Cardenas, just outside and immediately east of the entrance to the Muncipal Market located at Lazaro Cardenas and Camichin. This particular butcher shop has been one of a few we have chosen to purchase fresh meats and cheeses during several of our ‘extended’ stays in Puerto Vallarta’s South Side. And especially so since the fall of 2007, when we started lodging at a hotel where the rooms were equipped with a kitchenette — allowing us to shop, and do some of our own cooking during our stays. We have always found the staff there to be courteous, and helpful, and the offerings have been perfect for our needs — ground beef to use for burgers, and to use with beans and stuff for chili(a heads-up: the lean ground beef is ‘very’ lean, so can be quite dry … when making burger patties, meatloafs, and the like, an addition of a little ground pork can be helpful) — pork chops, pork tenderloin, and several cheeses. During our most recent Vallarta stay(which was over a Christmas and New Years), we bought and prepared pork tenderloin ‘nuggets’ for our New Years Eve dinner — total yum! some of the most moist, tender, and tasty tenderloin enjoyed in a good long while! We like this carniceria …
