Who doesn’t like ice cream? If you are one of the few persons who does not like ice cream, then you should not visit this Paleteria when you are in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. If you like ice cream as I do, then most definitely drop by Paleteria La Michoacana. As other Unilocalers have mentioned, they have plenty of flavors here for both their paletas(popsicles) and their ice cream. The folks here are terrific. We were able to sample many delicious ice cream flavors. I was very pleased with my choices! 4 stars cause I am a fan!

So good! Fresh, homemade paletas in a ton of different flavors. Not touristy at all! I can’t believe this isn’t on Tripadvisor because this place is such a gem. We will be going back a lot while we are here!

This place rules! The lady working the counter is like your friendly neighborhood abuelita, but she’s got a ton of fresh paletas in flavors that will make any foodie’s heart melt — mango chile, pistachio, prune, guava, mamey, guayabana, coconut, etc. They’re pretty cheap — around $ 1 — and worth every peso. Don’t miss it!

Way more than a refreshing palate cooler on a hot day in Vallarta! Their paletas(ice pops, ) come in dozens of flavors, including some interesting tropical ones like guava, guanabana, jamaica/hibiscus, coconut, mango, lime, pineapple — all containing abundant chunks of fresh fruit. It’s family-run by owners Alfonso & Teresa, and they are really personable in welcoming you and introducing the various flavors. Alfonso had made the paletas fresh that morning, and also makes cream-based bars(some dipped in chocolate with nuts or granola), horchata, and more. As my parents and I enjoyed our paletas in the store, Alfonso chatted with us and shared recommendations of places to visit that are not so «touristy». My parents really enjoyed the relaxed and genuine conversation, as an escape from bustling and impersonal atmosphere of the Malecon Boardwalk. It’s a beautiful corner store with a nice breeze, a perfect spot to take a moment to enjoy your surroundings and cool down!

A favourite paleteria of ours — popsicles, ice cream bars, and ice cream — all kinds, and so many flavours. We had never seen so many different kinds and flavours of popsicles and ice cream bars in any place until we stopped into this great little shop one evening on the way back to our hotel after dinner. Thoughts of a cool popsicle or ice cream bar sure sounded good for dessert on our walk. We were bombarded by the sights of so many to choose from, when we entered the first time, and really needed some help in making our choices. The salesperson was friendly and most-accommodating, gave us a «tour» of the various offerings, and really helped us to make our initial choices. The decision making became much-easier with subsequent visits! Some of the popsicles are even«hot» — spicy hot, that is! All are very cool, and especially so on a warm evening walk after dinner. And for us(seniors), it was always fun to walk and enjoy a popsicle once again! The ice cream bars, and including what we used to called ‘dreamsicles’ as kids, come in very many delicious flavours, and like the other offerings, are cool, but with the ice cream, more ‘creamy & cool’. We’ve tried several flavours over the years, including some that include whole pieces of fresh fruit(bananas, strawberries, pineapple, mango, and etc.). For a cool treat during a walkabout, we really like this place and its offerings. And if you haven’t enjoyed a really good popsicle in years, then this is ‘the’ place!
