We stopped here in the middle of a 13 hour drive from Texas to DF. We needed to stop and stretch, but really we needed some cooked food that didn’t come wrapped in plastic from a gas station. El Rey was plenty fine and quick, which was a big bonus, because when you still have a long way to drive, you don’t want to linger anywhere too long. We pulled right off the road and parked 10 feet from our table in an open air covered patio area. The place doesn’t look like much but the hostess/cook is very pleasant. She told us what was available that day and we proceeded to order a torta and milenesa. Both ended up being quite solid, and the salsa that was provided was good too. If the place could improve their bathroom situation, I would suggest this as the perfect quick pit stop on the way through town.
