Yay! I thought it would be potentially challenging to find a good Asian grocery in Mexico City but after a single try, I’ve already found an above adequate one. It had a decent selection of pocky, mochi ice cream, ramen, dumplings/gyoza, salted seaweed, sauces and oils… all my life essentials, at not cheap but not bad prices. It has plenty of regular groceries too, with tons of veggies and fruits, some pre-cut for 10 – 12 pesos(a total steal in comparison to superama). It’s also right next to a ramen shop… hmm. I will definitely be back.

Good neighborhood grocery. A mart is a mix of an Asian market and a regular grocery, so you can find standards like milk, cereal, canned goods, yogurt, and here but you can also find more obscure things. Like what? Think aloe water, mochi ice cream, a huge ramen selection, picky and some Asian sauces. Now, the Asian selection is not as good as some of the shops in Zona Rosa, but it’s still decent. They also have a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables and meat, too. All in all, it’s a great spot to have in the neighborhood to pick up some groceries. Staff has always been kind to me, too!

It is nice to have a grocer in the neighborhood who offers some different options. Super A Mart is primarily a vendor of Asian goods, though there doesn’t seem to be a specific ethnic focus. There are plenty of items that could be attributed to Japan, China, Korea, Vietnam, etc. While this store does not offer the same kind of authenticity that shome of the smaller Korean markets in Zona Rosa can claim, the reality is that A Mart is easy to access, the room is well lit, the area is clean and comfortable, and they keep other essentials in stock as well. This last point may save you a trip over to Superama some day. Additionally, A Mart houses a small ramen shop in the back. Though I have my doubts as to how fresh the ramen noodles are, if you are looking for a cheap and fairly authentic ramen house experience, look no further.

No aceptan American Express.
