I believe the reviews in English of Wings are too harsh. This is a very good option for grabbing a meal or killing time at the airport. The tables are comfortable and the food is pretty good. Wings is a Mexican chain, that is like Denny’s in America, a diner. Wings is tailored to the taste of Mexico City, lots of sauce/salsa, thin cuts of chicken and beef, and heavy breakfast options. The meals often include fruit or juice. The juice is good and fresh. Coffee was also included with my meal yesterday. I liked the coffee. This restaurant is open twenty-four hours a day. You can order breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The breakfast is always a good option. Yesterday I had the Chile Relleno with 3 cheeses. It comes with a fried egg on top. It was good and a bit spicy. I also had a large green juice, it was tasty. The service we had yesterday was great. Please consider, in Mexico City a lot of people don’t drink anything before the food comes to the table. Some people will drink something with their meal and some will wait until they are finished with the food and then drink their drink. This is really different than the custom in the U.S. to have something to drink before, during, and after your meal. However, if you just let the server know you want another drink you will get one. It isn’t a big deal to ask for another drink. I would recommend Wings at the airport. I have eaten at two different MEX locations and both were fine. If I had to pick one I would say the one on the second floor is better. I have also recently eaten at Flaps, another restaurant at the airport. Flaps wasn’t good at all. I will stick with Wings for meals, before security, at the MEX.

Stopped here out of desperation. Plenty of happy customers it appeared, so why not? I made the mistake of ordering a salad. In Mexico. At the airport. I’ve never had an issue with food safety in Mexico, no matter where I’ve eaten. The lettuce looked like it was cut using a rock. Should have been my first clue. It did occur to me that the lettuce may not have been handled well from a food safety standpoint. Oh, well, it’s a chain, so it’s safe right? Wrongo. Two days later, on the beach in Zihuatanejo… I felt like Jeff Daniels in the scene from Dumb and Dumber. I had the shits for 3 days. Thanks Wings! Update: Make that 30 days of the squirts. I finally went to the Dr and was diagnosed with Campylobacter and H Pylori, both courtesy of Wings. Muchos Gracias!

Era pequeño y no sabia a nada especial.

We had lunch here while on a layover in Mexico City. We were meeting up with family that we hadn’t seen in several years, and we were very disappointed with the food and service — but especially the service — that we received here. We had to ask our server EVERYSTEPOFTHEWAY to proceed. From taking our order, to a refill on my coffee, to bringing us the check, she needed to be reminded. She never even asked if any of the other people in our party wanted more to drink. And then, as we were on our way to pay at the cashier, she reminded my sister-in-law that the tip was not included in the bill. The food was okay, but nothing special whatsoever. It was all cold, which I don’t know if it was because it took our server a long time to bring it to us, or if it was just cold to begin with. I’ve seen these Wings restaurants around Mexico City, and I am hesitant to try a different location. I will not be returning this one, for sure.
