We wanted Italian, and this place delivered on every level. We couldn’t get a table at another restaurant so we decided to give it a shot. Service was excellent, and it was so nice to sit inside the restaurant and still have the breeze blowing through. The décor was nice, elegant and rustic at the same time. The chairs were comfortable, and there was plenty of room between tables. The food was outstanding. A basket of bread to nibble on, then shortly after an amuse bouche of squid in a roasted red pepper sauce. I had the carpaccio and my wife has the fish in shells to start. Both were excellent, full of flavor and very fresh. She had the catch of the day and I had the spinach tortelli. Again, amazing. My pasta was cooked perfectly, still al dente and in a rich cheese sauce. Along with a great wine selection this place is going to be a regular spot for us every time we come back.

Stumbled upon this place our last day in PDC. Needed something quick since we were catching a shuttle. But wanted something fresh and inexpensive. Was not disappointed. We got a table right away and within minutes had a fresh breakfast and great coffee at a reasonable price(eggs cooked to order, delish wheat sourdough toast and coffee for $ 5!) Appreciated the fast & friendly service, good ambiance, open air seating. Will def make this a regular stop next time out.

Como Como is one of the very few places that was open on New Years Day. When we came in for a very very late breakfast at noon, there was a wait time. Good thing is, the restaurant space is big, so the lines move fast. When the table was ready, our names were called and we got seated. Ordered the following from the menu: — Cappuccino — Mocha — La Mexicana — Don’t remember the name. But it had two eggs served on a toasted tortilla, with a few ham bits on the top, served with a side of hash, beans and fried plantains Everything was very delicious. Good service. Comfy ambiance. Highly recommend!

Our hotel, Caché, offers a complimentary breakfast at this place everyday and it’s been great. Just around the corner & everyone there has been very nice as well.

Third time eating here for breakfast and the price is right! It’s cheap and delicious. They have separate menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner so I’m not sure what lunch and dinner looks like. Breakfast on the other hand is amazing. The ham and cheese croissant is to die for. We also got the burrito and that was yummy as well with a lot of flavor. We split some pancakes and they were just okay so I wouldn’t bother ordering that. The bread with the Jelly they serve is good so grab a basket of that. It costs money on the menu but they just brought it without us asking and we weren’t charged for it. The coffee was perfect. all 4 of us enjoyed it. We also got a fruit plate which consisted of pineapple, watermelon, papaya(not a fan), and cantaloupe. I found it strange that they gave me a small portion of yogurt but a massive portion of granola. Besides the portion size being off the fruit tastes fresh. Highly recommend it!

This review is for the breakfast menu at Como Como and I give it 5 stars! Pros: –It’s in a good location, walking distance from Coco Bongo –The prices are reasonable –I ordered the Mexican Breakfast and it’s just what I like, tasty but healthy(see picture). –Nice ambiance –Friendly servers. We like Omar and Santiago! Cons: –There’s a large chance you will get bit by mosquitos if you sit near the large plants area and that’s not fun!(The restaurant has mosquito spray in case you need it).

Great customer service… very clean and nicely decorated restaurant. Drink selection is great. They don’t cheap out on the alcohol. I had the mojito and it was amazing. Everybody in our group really enjoyed their food. Two of us in the group had the tortellini and it was a bit bland. Almost tasted as if it had been cooked then frozen then reheated. If we go back, I’m going to try something non-pasta, which is a bit disappointing considering it is an Italian restaurant.

We came for breakfast during the week twice! The chilaquiles are sooo good! Red or green, doesn’t matter. Natural juices are good, chocomil and licuados are really good! Super cheap and great customer service! We even got a small discount on our check.

My husband and I ate here to get a break from Mexican food for a night. The restaurant is very cute inside and has a garden patio in back. There were not a lot of choices for vegetarians but I made due. We shared the burratta appetizer, which was pretty ok. The burratta wasn’t quite right but was still pretty tasty. I also got the greek salad and my husband ordered steak. Mine was fine; the feta was not that good though. My husband really enjoyed his meal. I would probably be more willing to recommend this place to meat eaters. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meat and seafood entrees around us.

Good lord… this place was unbelievably fantastic. I really wish i took a picture of my dinner but i didn’t have time because i DEVOURED it! We ordered the beef tar tar as an appetizer and i must say… it was THEEBEST beef tartar I’ve ever had. Ever. No seriously… GETTHEBEEFTARTAR. It will change your life. Service was great… super attentive. Ordered a bottle and our wine glasses were never empty. Highly recommend.

Como Como is the restaurant within La Tortuga Hotel and Spa. The breakfasts are decent featuring Mexican Food. Mornings at Como Como will often feature loud speaking timeshare salesmen pitching overpriced real estate, which gets annoying. Como Como clearly cut corners to save time/money, which has compromised the food quality. Such as boxed juice instead of fresh, packaged/pre made tortillas, etc. The menu for dinner is uninspired and poorly designed. Why eat expensive Italian food when you are in Mexico? Service is their strongest point.

Amazing food, amazing service and amazing atmosphere. We loved it. Food was excellent. Each bite was better than the previous one. We were a group of 6 and no one had a bad bite. Best food we ate in Playa. Worth the walk. I would come back over and over. Our taste buds are happy.

Excellent sophisticated Italian food. Perfect lamb chops, seasoning and finish was artful. Homemade pasta delicately balances the seafood accompaniment. Beef with prosciutto delighted. Molto Bene!

What a diamond in the rough of mediocrity that is Playa del Carmen. The décor and patio out back provided perfect ambiance without trying to be over-the-top. Our dinner here was exceptional(the wine, cheese plate and chicken entrée were personal favorites) and was an outstanding value! The owner made sure to take a circuit of the place to ensure everyone’s experience was up to par and our server, Florencio, became our new best friend by the end of the evening. What a night!

I m a regular visitor of this restaurant, I really like the new location! The space in the garden is so quiet that it do not seems to be in Playa! You can call to check and reserve fresh oysters(yes every time I got was super fresh but they do not have everyday). Tonight I got a pan-fried octopus, as appetizer, and a simple pasta paccheri with fresh tomatoes(is not on the menu but you can ask and no problem at all). Dessert are a Go and what I really liked are the small but great craft beer selection(is not usual to have in a restaurant in playa an artesanal beer). Small but nice organic wines on the menu. Finally quality-price like no other. I think that is also a good spot to dine near the clubs and bar if you go out for nightlife.
