Great food! We visited this place 6 times in 5 days!!! I loved the tacos al pastor, the pastor tortas and the Dos XX Cheladas with ice!

Endroit parfait si vous né voulez pas payer trop cher et manger de la bonne nourriture mexicaine … Les employés sont gentils et souriant, le service est très rapide et c’est très très abordable. C’est aussi très bien situé.

It’s hard to sum up my thoughts about this casual little spot in Playa del Carmen but I’d almost call their sirloin tacos life changing… We visited my best friend and her husband in Playa as they recently moved there and have been slowly eating their way through the city. We had NYE plans for later that night but wanted a quick and casual bite to prepare for the festivities. At first glance this place doesn’t look special, but the delicious smells hit you about 10 feet from the entrance and you are powerless to resist. Our group ordered a variety of tacos but my favourite was definitely the sirloin. Fantastic flavoured beef served in the simple Mexican way, with a corn tortilla, diced onion and some cilantro(aka coriander). They have a variety of hot sauce and salsas that will leave you sweating — but in a good way. Their guacamole and homemade chips are excellent as well. Hope to return!

This place is always packed even though the place is small and has no air conditioner when the average heat is over 80+ degrees. The food is just that good! The grilled arrachera(flank steak) and sirloin is good but what’s really good is the salsa, onions with serrano and sauces that they provide with your meal. The onions are so hot that I felt like I definitely burnt my mouth. I eat and cry then I eat and I cry again. life is good. Oh, remember to bring cash and don’t bring your kids… its too damn hot in there even before I had the spicy stuff.

Tacos Tacos Tacos. Juicy, sweet, tacos. Bring cash and a fan. The meat is cooked like a gyros and served on a taco with pineapple, limejuice and salsa. At Don Sirloin, you have an endless variety of tacos bases and toppings to choose from. I really enjoyed having cheese on every single one and the spicy salsa. The price is great, keep in mind it is open seating and not much cooling next to the hot rotisserie so wear loose clothing so you can not only EAT more but also not sweat to death. As usual, I got the horchata to drink and it comes in a flimsy plastic bottle and is a bit more thinned down than the American version but is still delicious and not too sweet. Give Don Sirloin a go and if this one is too packed, there is another chain store you can walk to just a couple of street down. If I ever visit Playa del Carmen again I will come back here.

BESTTACOSEVER!!! My fiancé and I went to Playa last year, and I wasn’t aware Don Sirlon was on Unilocal until now that I am planning our trip to go back. We stayed at La Tortuga which is across the street from don Sirlon and I must admit we ate here 2 – 3 times a day. If we ate some where else we would go back to Don Sirlon after our other meals just to get at least one taco each because we could not get over how good the tacos are. The Asada and the Pastor Tacos where our favorites, and their chipotle sauce to die for,(i even tried to mimic it at home but it’s just not the same). The place is not fancy, it’s looks more so for locals but definitely a Must and the pricing a plus.

Stick to tacos and avoid the burgers they are store-bought which totally blows! Meat is good, a bit dry but taste is really good
