WOW! My favorite place to ear in Puerto Penasco! Although we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table, the food and service was well worth it. We all tried the speciality iced coffee, granola banana pancakes, stuffed french toast, Philly omelet, and the kaffeehause omelet. All were fantastic. The granola pancakes have honey instead of syrup… just in case you rather have the other. Great service!

The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is because of the wait. There is a long wait! 30 minutes to sit and 30 minutes to eat but DEFINITELY worth the wait. Everything was delicious especially the fluffy pancakes and the bread. It sounds like it’s always packed here but for is delicious. Staff is very friendly too.

Me and my family always come here for breakfast. My fav is the chilaquiles verdes served on weekends only. The malts are also very delicious. You can order anything off the menu and expect something delicious! Its a must when coming to Rocky Point.

One of the best, if not the best, places to eat in Rocky point. Unfortunately this idiot had passed this place by at least 100 times until today(April 222016). Excellent service and the breakfast was better than any others we have found in town. Sie brauchen ein gröberes boot

Meh… Coffee was weak… I was expecting German pastries there were a couple but they are basically like any other breakfast place at RP…

We were excited to try out this European style restaurant with the great reviews but alas, we were so disappointed. The coffees arrived well after our meals were served and we had no water or any other beverage to drink while we waited. The pancakes, toast, and omelettes were all served at room temperature, no hot or warm food for us. The food itself was tasty enough, and the interior décor was very charming. Waited forever to pay our bill at the register. A very busy place– more help is definitely in order. Sadly, we left completely unimpressed and unable to recommend this place to others.

Wow! Extremely delicious food and leaves you satisfied and even happier knowing you payed so little for so much greatness. We had a 30 minute wait but i would say it was worth the wait. This place is probably more frequented by tourists than locals(however you will see the locals eat here too). Parking is limited, but if you cant find a spot for the restaurant reserved parking you can go across the street and pay for it. Service was great. The local at rocky point are always kind and happy(not sure if they want a good tip, regardless i like it) We were seated outside in the patio(and I’m glad we were). The inside restaurant seemed claustrophobic and warm. So being outside in the patio overlooking the fishing boats and just people watching was quite the spot to be eating at. Also very relaxing. It was 70 degrees today with a breeze, i guess i cant say this is the spot year round. Now for the star of the restaurant. The food: My party opted for –The Gemelos(pancakes, sausage, potatoes, eggs and toast) gemelos meaning two of each –the green chilaquilies — with eggs and beans — the specialty french toasts– filled with cream cheese and mermelade — mollotes — two pieces if bread with beans and cheese — a chicken tamal — wrapped in a banana leaf and topped with carnitas, a red ranchera sauce(tomatoes, onions, peppers) and two eggs. Honestly there was no complaints about anything. I personally ordered the tamal, but note this seemed to be a special of the day so they might not have it every day, but man! They should consider adding it. The chilaquilles were crispy and drenched in salsa. The gemelos plate is you regular breakfast sampler. And the french toast are sweet and delectable. Sadly we had no room for the apple strudel, but we will be stoping by before our way back to Phoenix to just get this freshly baked specialty. This has topped a go to place when you are in Rocky point for me. It was so good, so filling and better for 5 plates, 4 drinks and tip less than $ 35!!! I think it would have been 50% at dennys and yet unsatisfying. PLEASEDOYOURSELF A FAVORANDSTOPBYHERE

Rating 4.5 Very good for being in the middle of a small town in Mexico. If it were in the US it would be measured a little differently with maybe a 4. From what I hear it’s always busy but the must be less than a dozen tables. The food is good(primarily breakfast), the atmosphere was quant. Two small rooms and an enclosed porch used for seating with a kitchen in the back… very casual and comfortable. Some what resembling a very small family diner with a bakery. The service was good(taking into account how busy they were).

Great place in Rocky Point for breakfast. We went at around 10am and got right in(but it was a weekday). Staff was friendly! I had the Twins Special — eggs, toast, potatoes, maple sausage, and two cakes — perfect combo! My brother had the Nutella waffle(yes, Nutella!) — and it had bananas and whip cream(amazing). We had their signature apple strudel for«breakfast desert»(because vacation!) and that was delectable. Huge menu, great food, wonderful people.

Excellent German style restaurant. Serves great breakfast. Love the decorations around it. The problem would be that it’s pretty small but that shouldn’t stop anyone from coming over and enjoying a good meal. You would be a fool not to.

This place is great. Has to be one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Our eggs were perfectly cooked, the pancakes were amazing, and the service was very good as well. Highly recommend it. And when we got the bill — $ 34 dollars for a breakfast for 4, I fell in love all over again. Be sure not to park on the street, you may get a ticket. They have a parking lot attendant to help you.

I came to this place based on previous reviews. First, if you decide to eat here note that you may have to wait a while due to the fact that the place is small. Parking here is also an issue not much parking. The food is very good. I had the Huevos rancheros with chile verde. It’s corn tortillas on the bottom, with shredded pork, eggs on top and cover with mild green chile.

I must have passed this place 50+ times and never really gave it a second look. Wanting to try something new for breakfast(we usually frequent Max’s) I researched and found Kaffee Haus. Place is small and had to wait a bit. Parking is limited too. We parked across the street in the lot. Was comfortable leaving our car there. We really enjoyed the food and service. Start with the apple strudel with homemade vanilla cream sauce. Amazing!

Since I have been working in Austria for the last year, and have also traveled through Germany quite a few times many years ago, I was a bit curious about this place. It can be a bit difficult to park here because the space is so small and it seems to be a popular place. But we managed to get a spot anyway. At first glance, I thought it was hilarious when I saw huevos rancheros on the menu; I didn’t know authentic German cuisine had this, hahaha… Seriously, though, there is a mix of German, Mexican, and other types of foods there. My wife had an omelet with smoked salmon, spinach, and cheese. It was surprisingly quite good, even if that particular mix doesn’t initially sound too appealing. I myself had an egg cooked on a skillet mixed in with chorizo and potatoes, which was also very good. Even though the place is a little bit small, the people there are friendly, and the service is excellent. I recommend this place to anyone who may want to have something other than tacos or seafood during your stay at Rocky Point /Puerto Penasco.

So glad i could try this place at least once while we were here in RP. Went on a Fri morning, got seated quickly and our meals were both very tasty. My chilaquiles were perfectly crunchy and had a very tasty sauce and even my 2yo son was piling my meal down his throat. The beans were tasty, as well. It was a large portion and included eggs that my son also enjoyed. Hubby’s dish was machaca which he was very satisfied with, as they used what he called«real» carne seca(dehydrated beef). Zero complaints on food. .very tasty. Ambiance is all tourists and majority of them Americans though we did see lots of MX tourists there, too. Their server ladies were kind, quick and added to the pleasant experience. I’d def come back again .even if it’s intended for tourists, which i usually stray away from, they pleasantly surprised me with delicious food and a great ambiance and good service. .plus their pastry display really made me want to go back for that!

This place is obviously geared towards all the American tourists who visit Puerto Peñasco…I mean, who goes to Mexico to eat German pastries? Kaffee Haus is owned by a German husband and Mexican wife team; he makes the pastries and she manages the operations. My friend and I didn’t get to meet the husband, as he was out of town, but we had a lovely extended chat with the lady — her name is Lily — and she is warm, gracious, and generous(she gave us a free brownie!). Even though the café has expanded its seating area, it is still pretty small on the whole; there are 3 main areas: outdoor patio, the lower, sunken level, and the upper level. Wait times are generally long(45min to an hour) and reservations are not accepted. Breakfast offerings include the usual French toast, omelettes, and sausage and egg platters as well as Mexican fare such as huevos rancheros and the like. Portions are large, prices are quite reasonable and listed in pesos and dollars, and pastries are plentiful. I had the smoked salmon omelette and my friend had the chilaquiles with 2 eggs. I enjoyed my omelette heartily. After that enormous food intake, we split an order of apple strudel and it sure looked delectable, showing off the massive amount of apples and luscious vanilla bean sauce in which it rested. Alas, I was rather disappointed with the strudel, as it lacked spice. The apples would have benefitted from more cinnamon/nutmeg/clove etc. We purchased a few more goodies to go, including the German chocolate cake, a rugelach, and a banana-chocolate tart. All were tasty. Very friendly service, cute German«kitschy» décor, delicious and plentiful food = a win in anyone’s books. Kaffee Haus isn’t authentic German or Mexican, but it’s authentically good!

You initially think. «German café in Mexico??» But it has to be one of my favorite restaurants here now. Finally a spot with good reasonably priced food with a hot cup of delicious coffee. We both had the stuffed French toast and were blown away. Didn’t even have to use syrup on them. We will be back to try the apple strudel for sure.

Homey & delicious! My husband and I tried this place twice in our weekend in rocky point. Breakfast: we had the Sebastian omlette and an order of apple strudel, coffee and orange juice. Absolutely delicious! The omlette was served steaming hot with fresh homemade tortillas and salsa. I am not a fan of eggs usually but I could resist this dish! Our servers kept the coffee full & worked as a team to make us feel welcome. Lunch: my hunny had the filet mignon sandwich and I had the German bratwurst. We split both & enjoyed them a lot. The fries were nice and hot though maybe frozen. This spot was delicious & above standard even for the states!
