We sought out the top rated Unilocal lunch spots in PV but found that none accepted credit cards. By the time we backtracked to find an ATM, those restaurants were quite a haul so we chanced Loncheria Don Jorge. Things really worked out for us!
Prices are dirt cheap and service is efficient. The food was excellent and the loncheria is close to other shopping which makes the area appear much safer than some of the other Unilocal 5 star locations.
It’s the perfect place for lunch near the malecon but bring pesos and espanol. You won’t get the full experience without those in hand.

Friendly, authentic, casual, open aired lunches counter style Mexican diner. Quesadillas in Puerto Vallarta are much better than most in the US. They have a lot less cheese and more meat. Closer to a soft taco. Highly recommend this place.
