One of, if not the best meal we had during our entire trip. The best lobster bisque. Amazing pork. Great view. What more do you want?

Absolutely love their Russian Tangerine cocktail. Wow! Nice, fun place and the food is very good. Great views from the upper levels. Staff is friendly and attentive. Seafood and beef items on the menu are solid 4 star. Haven’t had the opportunity to check out the rest of the menu. You do that and let me know.

Getting tired of Mexican food, what a great little gem of a place. I recommend. The lobster bisque was awesome. Waiting staff not only looked great but did a great job.

This place is amazing! Forget about Mexican food, this Swedish restaurant is where it’s at! Recommended by comedian Shawn Poloski. We took her word for it and by god it’s f’ing delicious! I had the lobster bisque and the burger as an entrée. Also for the drinks I highly recommend the tamarind margarita!

Really delicious food and drinks in a great setting. I had the steak and my friend had the cobb salad. Both were delicious. Pretty views and friendly staff.

Just visited P.V. two weeks ago and of course, returned to The Swedes. Absolutely one of the finest restaurants in the Zona Romantica. I own a restaurant and bar in San Diego and know how difficult it is too operate a successful business. Can’t wait to return to The Swedes

Swedes bar is right at the bottom of our condo building. It’s a fun spot to stop in for a drink. They have a cosmo night which is fun. Check it out!!!

Always a great meal here. After a few days in PV, it’s nice to get away from the normal cuisine of Mexico and come here. The menu often changes, but highly recommend the stuffed chicken breast. Outdoor seating and great atmosphere.

Came here with a group of friends after a day at the beach. We started off with cocktails. One of the owners came by to greet us and welcome us to the restaurant. A couple of my friends had been here before and knew the owner. We were seated on the upper deck of the restaurant, which overlooked the street and town of PV with partial ocean view. There’s also an upstairs bar. A couple of us stated with the tomato and cucumber gazpacho. which was topped with fresh cubes of cucumber cilantro and fresh croutons. The gazpacho was light tasting and refreshingly good, but a bit on the bland side. It needed a bit of salt for my taste. For my main course I went with the red snapper with fennel cream sauce served over spinach risotto. It came with a side of steamed broccoli and baby carrots. The snapper was good and I enjoyed the fennel cream sauce. It was too overpowering for the fish. The vegetables were slightly overcooked. I like my fresh veggies al dente. The food was good. Service was nice nice and friendly. I’d come back to Swedes.

The food and drinks are amazing quality and reasonably priced. My husband had the salmon with a dill reduction and potatoes, wow! And our 5 night trip, we went to The Swede’s twice and both times I had lamb chop and it is hands down this is the best we’ve ever had. We wish they’d open one in Houston so we could go every week.

We usually eat at least once here, each trip to PV. It’s a more upscale restaurant closer to the beach with a neat open air bar on the top floor and a restaurant one floor below. There’s stairs from the outside. This is sometimes referred to as a «gay restaurant». Don’t be silly. It’s a restaurant with gay owners and a significant gay clientele. The daily specials change and it’s usually something worthwhile. Rikard and Morgan visit every table, ensuring each guest is happy. Every place in PV is Mex-Tex, Interior Mexican … but not the Swedes. It’s more modern European. It’ll be everything from Beef Tenderloin to Mahi Mahi. Start with a before dinner drink to enjoy sunset on the top floor bar. Take dinner casually, and make a point to enjoy the experience with friends.

I hade a late dinner here the other night and thought the food was very nice. We sat upstairs where they have a small bar and some tables. The Swedish food was very good – I had the meatballs and my partner had the beef Rydberg. There were many other things I wish I could have tried! The service was attentive and very friendly. I’d go back, but I’d probably sit downstairs as the bug who scurried along the outer railing was off putting, even if prevalent everywhere in PV.

Ok. We came early and were the first for dinner. Services was amazing. Lobster bisque and goat cheese crostini, followed by Swedish meatballs and the chicken ceasar salad were great. The chicken was well seasoned and moist. The meatballs were very tasty and came with pickles, gravy and lingonberry sauce. Closed it off with the fruit and ice cream desert. Great location. Met some nice and interesting people while dining. Have to say the swede’s treated us well. We have already made reservations for the winter when we are returning with a larger group of friends.

What a disappointment. We’ve been wanting to try The Swedes for a couple of years now and will never go back. The service was poor, the drinks were watered down and they were out of many of the items on the menu. We got the pork loin which was over cooked to the point of being like shoe leather. We ordered the Cosmopolitan which had no alcohol and tasted like a mix(Kool-aide). There are lots of good restaurants in the area. I suggest you avoid this place.

This is a wonderful spot to go for a drink! The food looked great but we didn’t eat there. The staff was attentive and the establishment is very LGBT friendly.

Such a lovely spot. Funny story. This hasn’t always been a lovely restaurant. It was just a little rental that some friends of mine lived in many years ago with their big dogs and it was far from the fancy little boutique restaurant it is today. Perched on the top of the little hill at the South end of Olas Altas the views from the second floor dining room and third floor bar are just the essence of the Zona Romantica. I’ve lost track of how long the guys(Swedes, duh?) have had the place. I’m guessing it might be five seasons by now. I wasn’t too impressed initially but over time they have hit their stride and, at least during high season, the place is usually filled(reservations are a good idea). The food is quite good and, yes, they have Swedish meatballs. I’m not much of a meat eater and certainly not Swedish so I can’t tell you if theirs’ are the real deal or not but they sell a lot of the them. A pretty diverse menu of the usual suspect too though — continental takes on meats, seafood, etc. Never have had a bad meal there and the service, by some of the most handsome men in Vallarta, is always an added bonus. Rikard and Morgan are easy on the eyes too and very friendly and engaging hosts. Very nice experience all around — highly recommended.
