A great place to try! Don’t let the Applebees and Starbucks surrounding it fool you, this isn’t just a spot for tourists. I HIGHLY recommend the marinated octopus and the Modela Special beer, which is darker and I’ve never seen in the US.

San Jose, CA
My husband and I went to have lunch at La Marea (New Location in San Jose del Cabo near Bancomer & Office Max). Good lunch, good service BUT… I just got a fraud alert from my credit card company for $ 6,250.88 worth of fraudulent charges. Our lunch was $ 34.77 on 12÷10÷15. Three additional charges for $ 34.77 were made (coincidence, I think NOT). Plus flights on American Airlines, AeroMexico, etc… So my review for them is that they suck because of being ripped off. I won’t ever eat there again but if you must, I highly suggest paying cash.

This place always delivers. Great fresh and super yummy ceviche. We had visited the previous location and loved it, so we were happy to see if was back after the hurricane of 2014. A new location — great style and same great ceviche. The place is very mellow and comfortable. We usually go for lunch. Definitely worth a check out if you’re looking for fresh, delicious ceviche with great service.

Went to their new location. Food and service were a amazing! Had the ceviche, agua chile, sashimi… All of them were really good. Went in with my husband and 1yo baby. Our server was just amazing. He made sure we enjoyed our meal to the point where he was babysitting our kid so we get to enjoy our food. THANK YOU MARCELO! I got to sit down, eat my plate and drink a really good michelada!

It is hard to beat La Marea for the freshness and price. We went there probably 6 times in 10 days and we regretted going elsewhere most of the time. The ceviche is delicious and we loved the tacos, the tuna tartar and the octopus. I could eat here every day. Friendly folks, lots of locals. Clean and has television so you may catch some sports or a fight. It has a patio, which we didn’t sit at because we were there in August and it was crazy hot. We will be there soon and we are looking forward to it. We’re happy that hurricane Odile didn’t wipe this place off the map.

On our last visit to San Jose Del Cabo, La Marea was recommended by a friend. This was one of the best restaurants that we ate at. My favorite was the Ahi mango tartar. So fresh and flavorful, we will be going back for sure. Side note, we walked down the beach from our hotel, went under the freeway and up a little hill to get here. We were all very hot and sweating when we arrived. The manager asked if we would like to have some AC, they closed off the large doors that go out to the deck and cooled the room down just for us. Great meal, even better service. Highly recommend to anyone!

Food and service was great but the menu lacks pictures and makes ordering somewhat difficult. Im fluent in Spanish and I ended up with a surprise when our food came. It wasn’t what I expected so just be careful and ask plenty of questions.

They prepared our fresh catch in four different ways. Every dish was incredible! Amazing service, amazing view, and an AMAZING CHEF! A must stop if you are in Cabo. We love this place!

Definitely worth it.
Probably best option for a few miles. Upscale for the area. Friendly good English speaking service. Specialize in ceviches, cocktails and tartars but also have land items including US choice steaks.
Tuna tartar was super fresh and sizable, it was a meal. A few interesting sauces on the side along with super fresh pico de gallo and addictive seasoned chips.
Air conditioning indoors and ceiling fans on the patio. Planning a return visit soon.

This local’s cevicheria is a must if you love fresh seafood. Everything we tried was delicious. We visited four times during our week in Los Cabo. Friendly service. Overlooks beach and busy highway, but well worth ignoring the traffic for the fresh ceviche. Over 20 different concoctions! Free wifi.
