What a find! I’ve had the Tampiquena twice here and it’s perfect– the meat is juicy and not overcooked, the sauteed vegetables are extra savory thanks to bits of bacon, the gauc is great, the salad is good, the cheese enchilada is great. The meat is more delicious than just about any steakhouse in TJ(Campero, Pampas). I’m going to order this again and again. My companion had the milanesa and it, too, was tasty. BTW, the portions are quite generous, more than I could possibly consume, and the bill for two entrees, 2 cervezas(Indio) and another beverage came to 280 pesos. Also, attentive service and a clean, apparently new facility. I’m told that the chef is the owner. This place is a diamond in the rough! The surrounding environs is sketchy, but this is nonetheless worth the detour.
