La Hoja Verde

Es una buena opción vegana en la zona pero la comida no es lo mejor que he probado. De todos modos esta bien!

First off, the staff are spectacular; they are kind and accommodating. My meal was a taking a little extra time to prepare so they gave my fiancé and I extra chips and salsa and didn’t charge me for my smoothie (which was delicious and fresh). I also ordered the passion fruit curry. The curry was sweet with a hint of spice and very flavorful. I could always use a little extra spice in my dishes, but I think the spice level appropriately appeals to the public at large. I enjoyed the curry as well as the rice and pita bread that were paired with it.
The prices are reasonable for the product.
I will definitely eat here again next time I am in town.

It’s not often that you find a vegan restaurant while traveling abroad. While stopped in the city area of Tulum we walked around some shops and then down a side street when we came upon this gem. The first thing we noticed was the proper menu displayed at the entrance. We could tell that the cooks here put actual thought into the menu items. The patio is where the majority of seating is, but they also have a chair or two on the inside near the bar and kitchen. They have wifi here, so it was nice to see some people enjoying that perk as well. As for the food, it was delicious. I got the quesadilla because I wanted to eat something Mexican and my friend got the Che Guevara juice blend. The juice was very fresh and I highly recommend trying one of them! The Guac that came with my quesadilla was the best part of the meal though. They do serve alcohol here too, with a decent selection of liquor and beer. Didn’t get any of that, but it’s a good option for those who want it although I’m not certain that alcohol is vegan. All in all, great find that is worth eating at while in Tulum!

Ver fotos de comida de un lugar puede engañarte de manera tremenda, así fue mi experiencia aquí: Vine con un antojo del plato de faláfel con hummus y tabouleh y aproveché para probar otros platillos veganos del menú.
Para empezar, no sé si era un mal día para la chica que atendía porque después de elegir la mesa (el lugar estaba casi vacío, sólo tenía 2 mesas) tuve que pararme a buscar a la mesera porque nunca tuvo la iniciativa de dar la bienvenida u ofrecerme la carta a mi llegada. Ya que decidí la mesera con pocas ganas me tomó la orden, no fue malencarada ni nada, por el contrario fue amable y todo, pero de plano me parece que ese no era su día.
La comida no tardó nada, al probar el súper plato de faláfel me encantaron las bolitas, súper crujientes y una textura bien rica para morder, pero el sabor no fue lo máximo, quizá le faltó un poco de garbanzo, comino y un toque de especias, el crunchy inigualable, pero de plano el aderezo, te dan muy poquito y ni te ofrecen más salsa o picante. Así. El tabouleh pasable, la ensalada todo bien.
Luego en mi mesa pedimos una pizza caprese y de caprese tenía más queso en cuadros de mi refrigerador que nada. Muy pobre la pizza, como hecha literal en mi casa, se veían los cuadros del queso y el tomate encima con una pizca del aderezo tipo chimichurri con almendra o algo así, rico, pero la presentación muy pobre. La masa he de decir que sí estaba crujiente y muy rica al igual que la salsa de tomate pero deberían mejorar mucho su presentación.
Nada lo máximo y el servicio la verdad muy mejorable. Espero tener una experiencia mejor porque para tener 5 estrellas no me pareció así.

Nice menu, something for vegans and vegetarians plus they serve beer and wine. We had the falafel dish which was excellent and the asian noodles and both were great. We had beers after the meal. The service was ok. Staff was nice, but not extremely attentive. We had to flag them down a few times rather then them coming over, but for us, not being in a rush it was fine. It’s a beach town after all. They have great smoothies on the menu too.

Food was really good and healthy. When we were finished we felt full and very satisfied. My boyfriend got the hamburguesa and I had the falafel platter. My favorite though was the smoothie. I had the Oasis. So so good. Will be coming back every morning for one while we’re here!

The vegan omelet was amazing; a revelation in crispy and chewyness. Great coffee and juices. Another great food destination in Tulum town. Can’t wait to visit a few more times on my next visit to Tulum.

I am still thinking about the delicious vegan omelette I had for breakfast there 6 months ago. That’s how delicious it was! The smoothies were great too. It would be fantastic if a local could post a picture of the menu, I want to try and recreate their recipes now that I’m back home, they have a lot of unique and delicious items. Anytime I go to Tulum in the future, I am definitely eating here!

Refreshing juices and amiable staff. Wish we were hungry at the time to try the food.

Tasty, clean-​feeling food. Cacao balls were fabulous and came with some jam for dipping. The falafel sandwich was excellent. We ate here one night and came for breakfast the next day, and the vegan omelette does not disappoint! Friendly staff and mellow atmosphere. If you need a break from tacos and massive servings of refried beans and rice, head to Hoja Verde for something different!

Siguiendo mi análisis de comida vegetariana en la Riviera Maya, encontré un pequeño restaurante cerca de la ADO sobre avenida Tulum, La hoja Verde, ya con su nombre supe qué vendían. La atención del lugar fue muy buena y eso le suma más puntos que a cualquier lugar. Se agradecen lugares donde la carta vegetariana es amplia, ya que en general la comida en México se basa principalmente en carne o te cobran carísimo por un platillo de ensalada. La hamburguesa de falafel, con tomates secados al sol estaba IM-​PAC-​TAN-​TE, las patatas fritas de yuca eran para morir feliz. No hay buena comida sin una rica bebida, pedí un jugo de pepino con apio una gran experiencia de sabor, además de una variedad de batidos. Y para los golosos, tienen unas trufas de chocolates de ensueños. Lo puedes encontrar abierto de las dos de la tarde hasta las diez de la noche y los productos están a muy buen precio. Este es uno de los lugares que cada vez que puedo, regreso.
