I frequented this quick, delicious bakery often during my time in Tulum. And by often, I mean on average two times a day. It was that good. The prices, the selection, the in-and-out convenience. We justified stopping by for breakfast and afternoon snack as needing to try the different flavors.

Fantastic bakery where you can self serve — right in the middle of Downtown Tulum main strip. For some reason — downtown Tulum is a pastry /baked food heaven. And Pan del Carmen tops the list for a big bakery that has everything fresh — all the time. The aisles and the trays of baked goods are arranged very intelligently for customers to walk through each section, pick whatever they want in take out bags and whether you take the clockwise or the anti clockwise direction, you will eventually come back to the entrance /exit where the checkout counters are conveniently located. They have almost everything when it comes to baked goods. Croissants, muffins, donuts, cookies, puffed pastries — in assortment of flavors, coatings, toppings et al. They also have a host savory selections — ready for a salty bite on the go. Square Pizza slices anyone? They even specialize in cakes and specialty pastries — made to order. Perfect for weddings and parties and other special occasions. The place is almost always busy given it’s central location and very well staffed to handle the crowd. A must try if you are out and about in downtown Tulum!

If I was able to have infinite money and stomach space, I would leave it to pastries and cakes. Pan del Carmen was a cute little bakery where you can pick and choose baked goods. All priced fair. So I’ll have to try this place out again when I come back! Or if I ever come back :)
